The Longevity Family: Starting from the Foundation Establishment Ancestor
Chapter 489 The final gift was a fishing rod.
Han Mu didn't know how long he had slept. When he regained consciousness, he found that everything had changed.
The Temple of Creation was still the same Temple of Creation, but the surrounding atmosphere was completely different. A strange energy fluctuation permeated the air, much denser and more active than before he fell into slumber. He tried to sense his surroundings and discovered that the cosmic sea had expanded three times in size compared to ten thousand years ago, with countless new stars shining and countless new lives flourishing.
He slept for ten thousand years.
Han Mu was somewhat dazed. To him, these ten thousand years seemed like the blink of an eye, but to the Cosmic Sea, it was already a time of great change.
His first thought was of Fairy Hongmeng and Han Nian. With a thought, he appeared above the Temple of Creation.
The temple was more magnificent than I remembered, clearly having undergone several expansions and renovations. The crooked tree in the courtyard was still there, but it was several times thicker than before, with more lush foliage, looking like a giant green umbrella from afar.
Fairy Hongmeng sat on a stone bench in the courtyard, drinking tea. Her appearance hadn't changed much, but her eyes held a calm and serene quality, a quality bestowed upon her by time.
Han Nian stood by the pond, holding a fishing rod, fishing. He had grown up into a handsome young man, tall and straight, with sharp eyebrows and bright eyes, bearing a seven or eight-tenths resemblance to Han Mu in his youth.
Looking at his son, Han Mu felt a complex mix of emotions—gratification, pride, and guilt. He had missed his son's growth, missed the first day he learned to walk, missed the first time he called him "Daddy," missed his apprenticeship, and missed every important moment when he broke through to a higher realm.
Han Nian lifted the fishing rod, and a golden carp broke out of the water, shimmering in the sunlight. He smiled, took the fish off the hook and put it back in the water, then re-baited the hook and cast it out.
"Nian'er, fishing again?" Fairy Hongmeng said gently.
"Well, I've got nothing better to do, so I'll go fishing and think about my father," Han Nian said calmly, but her eyes dimmed slightly when she mentioned her father.
Hearing this, Han Mu felt a sharp pain in his heart. He wanted to go over and pat his son on the shoulder to tell him that his father was right there, but he couldn't. He was just an invisible consciousness, unable to even manifest.
Just then, the crooked tree suddenly shook its branches and said, "Kid, you're awake."
Han Mu was stunned for a moment. He hadn't expected that the crooked tree could sense his presence.
"Tree Master, can you sense me?" Han Mu's consciousness asked.
"Nonsense, I am the Tree of Chaos Life. Even though you have become part of a dimension, I can still detect your consciousness fluctuations," the crooked-necked tree said smugly.
"Grandpa Tree, who are you talking to?" Han Nian turned her head and looked at the crooked tree with a puzzled expression.
"With your dad," the crooked tree said.
Han Nian dropped his fishing rod with a thud. He jumped up, looked around, and asked anxiously, "Where is my father?"
"He's right next to you, you can't see him, but he's always watching you," the crooked tree said.
Han Nian's eyes instantly reddened, and he called out to the air, "Father, is that you? Please come out and see me."
Han Mu felt a pang of sadness and pain in his heart as he watched his son's excited expression. He wanted to respond, but he couldn't; his strength was too weak to even write on the pages of a book.
The crooked tree seemed to sense Han Mu's predicament. It shook its branches, and a warm power surged from the tree, enveloping Han Mu's consciousness. Han Mu felt his power rapidly recovering. Although he could not yet solidify his physical form, he could at least project some blurry shadows onto the water's surface.
Ripples spread across the surface of the pond, and then a blurry human face slowly emerged—it was Han Mu.
When Han Nian saw that face, tears welled up in his eyes. He knelt by the pond and reached out to touch the face, but the image scattered as soon as his fingers touched the water.
"Father," Han Nian said, choking back tears.
The water returned to calm, and the image re-converged. Han Mu looked at his son, his lips moved, and although he couldn't make a sound, Han Nian understood his lip movements: Nian'er, Daddy is fine, don't worry.
Han Nian nodded vigorously, wiped away her tears, and forced a smile: "Father, don't worry, I've grown up now, I will take good care of Mother."
Han Mu's image nodded and then slowly faded away. He had used up all the strength he had just recovered, and his consciousness became weak again.
The crooked tree sighed and said, "Kid, your condition is unstable right now. You should rest and recuperate. Don't push yourself too hard."
Han Mu nodded to himself, then fell into a semi-sleep state.
Han Nian stood by the pond, looking at the calm water, clenching his fist. He turned to the crooked tree and asked, "Grandpa Tree, is there any way to bring my father back to life?"
The crooked tree was silent for a moment, then said, "There is a way, but it's very difficult."
"Whatever it takes, I'll do anything to save Father," Han Nian said urgently.
"After your father transformed into the world, he became one with the dimensions. To revive him, we need to find a new body that can carry his consciousness, and this body must be powerful enough to accommodate the power of an incarnation of order," the crooked-necked tree said.
"Where can we find a body like that?" Han Nian asked.
"If you can't find it, you'll have to craft it yourself. You'll need to collect five materials: Chaos Stone, Water of Life, Sands of Time and Space, Fire of Order, and Wood of Origin. Then, use these materials to craft a body," the crooked-necked tree said.
"Where can I find these materials?" Han Nian pressed.
"The Chaos Stone is at the deepest part of the dimensional rift, the Water of Life is at the source of the Purifying Spring, the Sands of Time and Space are in the desert at the end of time, the Fire of Order is in the ruins of the Temple of Order, and I am the Tree of Origin," said the crooked-necked tree.
After listening, Han Nian bowed deeply: "Grandpa Tree, thank you for telling me all this. I will definitely gather all the materials, refine a new body, and bring Father back to life."
The crooked tree shook its branches without saying a word, but a hint of relief flashed in its eyes. It knew that Han Nian had grown up and had developed his own sense of responsibility and determination.
Han Nian turned and left the backyard to find Fairy Hongmeng to discuss the collection of materials. He wanted to save his father, no matter the cost.
