After I died, my personal maid rebelled.

Chapter 240 Bring Your Head to Me

"The undead army went to the Elven kingdom?"

Zena, the white-haired elf, adjusted the angle of her underwear. As her fingers brushed against it, they inadvertently picked up a little water stain. She maintained her silent demeanor and put her fingers in front of her nose to smell them.

"That's it, the Elven Kingdom's regular army was disbanded hundreds of years ago."

"I'm not asking you to give a result; I'm asking you to analyze why the undead army went to the elven kingdom."

Luna leaned back in her chair, her eyes slightly narrowed, and she raised her chin in a cold and impatient manner.

Jacob, standing to the side, seemed somewhat dazed. He thought he saw the Duke's shadow in the young lady; indeed, one vine cannot produce two kinds of flowers...

reason?

Zena fell into deep thought and began to search her vast memory bank.

If she could, she wouldn't want the elven kingdom to be destroyed. Although the elves had a bad reputation, at least they hadn't done anything really bad. At most, they'd done something ruthless, like seducing a human boy named Chu Nan...

"Aside from the ancient war between the four races, the Elven Kingdom is rarely attacked by other races. However, there was an attack more than two hundred years ago with unknown causes, and nearly 50,000 elves mysteriously disappeared, but we have not been able to find the culprit."

"At first we suspected it was done by our own people, but blood magic ruled out all elves as suspects."

When it comes to war and invasion, this is the only event Zena can think of; there's really nothing else. The Elf Kingdom is just an incredibly boring and awful place.

Luna glanced away. "It must have been done by humans. The only country bordering the Elf Kingdom is the Human Kingdom."

"Missing? Can I interpret this as someone deliberately kidnapping them? But what would their purpose be?"

Jacob frowned. The kidnapping of 50,000 elves had left no clues whatsoever, which was beyond what humans could do.

But if it's for some kind of ritual, why go to such lengths? What is so special about elves?

Resisting the urge to dissect Zena, Luna, having obtained no valuable information, could only wave her away again.

She had more important matters to attend to than the Elf Kingdom.

Shifting her position to prop her head up, Luna slowly asked, "Where is Saintess Jenny? How far is she from Ice City?"

Jacob stood up and replied, "We're almost there. Lady Janet has also brought Marquis Barton with her. It will take about two or three hours to reach Ice City."

Luna closed her eyes. "Okay, I'll rest for a while then. Wake me up later."

……

The carriage traveled along the smooth cement road. Marquis Barton rubbed his rough hands anxiously. The troubled Northern Territory had changed again. He wondered if little Luna would be able to hold on after the Duke left, and if she would cry.

Jenny, who was consulting ancient books, silently handed over a handkerchief.

She wasn't very familiar with the Marquis of Barton and didn't know how to comfort him; these were things that Eleanor should have been doing.

Realizing he was crying again, Barton took the handkerchief, wiped his tears, and smiled sheepishly.

The closer he got to Harbin, the more melancholy he felt.

The Northern Territory had finally produced a great ruler, but fate was cruel; their lord disappeared and no one knew when he would return.

The carriage swayed and slowed down as it passed through the ice city. Instead of going directly into the city, Jenny looked out the window, hoping to see that figure appear.

Evelyn, or Evelyn Arcanthos, a somewhat mysterious witch, first met the two in the great forest in the northeast of the Northern Territory. Under her tutelage, Jane learned much valuable knowledge.

Unlike ordinary witches who seek to settle in remote places, she wanders freely throughout the human kingdom.

Interestingly, as long as you hand the letter to the traveling merchant, it will always end up in Evelyn's hands.

Evelyn.

A black-haired figure appeared before them. Sure enough, she had arrived in the Northern Territory. However, no one could verify her identity, so Evelyn had to be under the supervision of the soldiers and was not allowed to enter the city without permission.

Jenny opened the car door and smiled elegantly, "Long time no see, my friend."

"That's great, I actually became friends with the Saintess."

Evelyn raised the corners of her mouth, stepped forward, and pulled on Jenny's saintly attire, looking her up and down and nodding repeatedly.

"It suits you very well, but I never expected you to work for the Duke of the Northern Territory, nor did I expect you to travel so far to call me here for him."

She said it jokingly, with a teasing smile.

Upon hearing this, Jenny sighed, "I really need help, not only for myself, but also for everyone living in the Northern Territory."

"Don't worry, my little saintess, I've brought a good helper with me this time."

Upon hearing Evelyn's words, Jennifer realized that behind her stood a burly adventurer carrying a strange box.

The rotten wood looked quite old; it was unclear from which underground city it had been unearthed.

"Take me to see Luna Charles."

The treasure chest spoke, startling Jenny Shih so much that a holy light quickly shone from her hand.

Seeing this, Evelyn just smiled without saying a word, while Dane shook his head in annoyance and opened the box with a snap.

Jenny cautiously stepped forward and saw a head placed inside, a head that was still moving.

"Mr. Medivh?"

Upon seeing that familiar face, Jenny rubbed her eyes in disbelief, then heard Medivh speak with a dissatisfaction.

"As a saintess, don't you even have this much knowledge? Stop making a fuss. I don't have much time. Take me to see Luna now. We must find Oswald!"

The absurdity of the world still exceeds everyone's imagination. The saying "old age brings demons" is not just a saying. At least this magical conch shell... cough, magical head is far more dangerous than some monsters.

A group of people surrounded Medivh's head. It was truly lamentable that the great mage of the human kingdom had fallen to such a state.

Suppressing his anger, if he weren't physically incapacitated, Medivh would have slapped each of them. He cleared his throat and said solemnly.

"I'll tell you my story later, Luna. This time, it might require your sacrifice."

"What sacrifice?" Luna tilted her ear, as if to hear more clearly, but her fingers rested on the hilt of the sword at her waist.

Medivh ignored this and continued, "I have a secret technique that allows me to contact Duke Oswald by sacrificing the body of a blood relative."

"The offering might require a few strands of hair, or a few pieces of bone; the heavier the better. Since the Duke of Oswald has yet to return, I think you understand what I mean."

Medivh put it very bluntly: Duke Oswald must be trapped in some very special place, so sacrificing Luna's hair alone is not enough to ensure the secret technique can be successfully activated.

"Wait, Mr. Medivh."

Before anyone could react, Janice spoke first, asking, "Is it enough to just be related by blood?"

"I know what you want to ask, Holy Maiden, but the Duke and Duchess' remains were lost on the Demon battlefield, and we don't have time to go..."

Jenny stared at him calmly, then interrupted him, saying each word clearly, "No, I mean, could the body of Miss Luna's cousin, Cage Charles, be used as a sacrifice?"
