Lin Qing'er looked at the golden chains that hadn't disappeared from his body. "Do you still have karmic chains on you?"

"Yes," Qin Yuan said, "but they are golden."

The sixth heaven is a vast library.

The bookshelves stretched from the ground into the void, their top invisible. Each shelf was filled with books, not of paper, but formed from condensed light. Each book, when opened, revealed a person's life—birth, growth, death, with all the joys and sorrows flowing across its pages.

In the center of the library, a huge book floats. The cover is black, like frozen night, with three blood-red characters written on it: Book of Life and Death.

Qin Yuan and Lin Qing'er walked up to the Book of Life and Death. The book opened automatically, and an eye appeared on the page. The eye was golden, with vertical pupils, like a snake's eye.

"The gatekeeper of the Sixth Heaven, the Book of Life and Death." A voice emanated from the book, like the rustling of turning pages, "Your destiny will be written by me."

Qin Yuan said, "You cannot write my destiny."

Words began to appear on the pages of the Book of Life and Death, stroke by stroke, as if someone were writing with an invisible pen: "Qin Yuan, died... killed by himself."

The moment he wrote the words, Qin Yuan felt his right hand become unresponsive. His right hand, which was holding the sword, automatically raised the Xing Tian Sword, its tip pointing at his chest. He tried to let go, but his fingers felt like they were glued on, unable to loosen.

Lin Qing'er exclaimed in surprise and rushed forward to try to seize the sword. The moment her hand touched the hilt, she was repelled by an invisible force and flew several feet away.

"It's no use," said the Book of Life and Death. "The ending I wrote will definitely come true."

Qin Yuan grabbed his right hand with his left to stop the sword from piercing his chest. Their hands were locked in a stalemate, like two people wrestling. His right hand slowly but firmly pushed towards his chest; the sword tip pierced his skin, and blood gushed out, staining his clothes crimson.

"Stop struggling," the Book of Life and Death said. "You cannot kill me, for I am the rule itself. The rule of life and death applies to all realms. No one can break it."

Lin Qing'er scrambled to her feet and rushed to the Book of Life and Death. She reached out to tear a page, but the moment her fingers touched the paper, she was blasted away by a force. She crashed into the bookshelf, which shook, and several books fell to the ground, turning into specks of light and dissipating.

"I've also written your ending," the Book of Life and Death said. "Lin Qing'er died... taking a sword for Qin Yuan."

The moment she wrote the words, Lin Qing'er felt her body spiral out of control. She stood up and charged towards Qin Yuan's sword tip. She wanted to stop, but her legs wouldn't obey her; she wanted to scream, but no sound came out.

Qin Yuan saw Lin Qing'er rushing towards the tip of his sword. He gave up resisting with his right hand. He concentrated all the power protecting the Heavenly Dao onto Lin Qing'er, and golden light surged from her body, forming a thick shield on her body.

His sword pierced his own chest. At the same time, Lin Qing'er crashed into the shield, was bounced back, and fell to the ground unharmed.

Qin Yuan knelt on one knee. The Xingtian Sword was embedded in his right chest, with a section of the blade protruding from his back. Golden blood flowed down the blade, dripping onto the ground with a sizzling sound.

He stretched out his left hand, dipped it in his own blood, and wrote a few words in the Book of Life and Death. The words were gold, standing out starkly against the black pages: "Qin Yuan and Lin Qing'er, will not die."

The Book of Life and Death trembled. Its pages turned violently, like leaves fluttering in the wind. "You...you cannot rewrite fate!"

Qin Yuan looked up at the golden eye on the page. "I didn't rewrite fate. I used my existence to prove your rules are wrong."

The golden words burned on the pages. The black ink began to fade, and the line "Qin Yuan, died from being killed by himself" slowly disappeared, replaced by "Qin Yuan, is not dead." Similarly, "Lin Qing'er, died from taking a sword for Qin Yuan" also became "Lin Qing'er, is not dead."

The Book of Life and Death emitted a piercing scream. Its pages began to spontaneously combust, golden flames burning from within, impossible to extinguish. It tried to close itself, but the flames leaped from the spine, growing ever stronger.

"You...you have broken the rules of life and death..." The Book of Life and Death's last words faded in the flames, "You will pay the price..."

The Book of Life and Death transformed into a fireball, burning in the center of the library. All the bookshelves began to collapse, and the books, their light coalescing, dissipated one by one, turning into countless specks of light. The Sixth Heaven collapsed.

Qin Yuan pulled the sword from his chest. Under the light of the Heavenly Dao, the wound healed rapidly, flesh and blood regenerated, and bones reconnected. In just a few breaths, only a faint scar remained.

Lin Qing'er rushed over, hugged him, and cried so hard she couldn't speak. She buried her face in his chest, her shoulders trembling violently.

Qin Yuan gently patted her back. "It's alright. I wrote 'immortal,' so I won't die."

He took Lin Qing'er's hand and led her towards the sixth light curtain. Lin Qing'er was still trembling, and Qin Yuan tightened his grip on her hand.

"Don't be afraid. I won't die."

The seventh heaven is empty.

It's not darkness, because darkness is also a form of existence. It's not nothingness, because nothingness is also a concept. There's nothing here—no light, no darkness, no sound, no silence, no up or down, no left or right, no near or far. Even the concept of "space" doesn't exist, because space requires "distance," and there is no distance here.

Qin Yuan and Lin Qing'er floated in the "air." They couldn't feel their own bodies, only that their hands were still clasped together. That was the only reality.

"The gatekeeper of the Seventh Heaven, the King of the Void." The voice didn't come from any direction, but appeared directly in their minds. "I am not a living being, not a will, I am this space itself. You are inside my body. You cannot escape."

Qin Yuan tried to fly forward. He channeled his spiritual energy, moving in one direction. But no matter how long he flew, all around him was the same "emptiness." There were no reference points, no sense of distance; he didn't know if he was moving forward or just spinning in place.

Lin Qing'er began to panic. She couldn't feel her heartbeat, couldn't feel her breath, couldn't feel the passage of time. The only thing she could feel was Qin Yuan's hand.

"Brother Qin Yuan, are we flying forward?" she asked.

Qin Yuan wanted to say yes, but he wasn't sure. He didn't know either.

"I don't know," he said, "but we're flying."

The voice of the Void King resounded once more: "Give up. You will never find an exit here. Your spiritual power, strength, and laws all require 'existence' as their foundation. There is no existence here, so your power is ineffective."

Qin Yuan slashed at the void with the Xingtian Sword. Golden sword energy shot out from the tip of the sword and then vanished without a trace, leaving no mark whatsoever. Like a pebble thrown into a deep pool, it didn't even cause a splash.
