Full-Time Wizard: Starting with Harvesting Wheat
Chapter 109 Kidnapping
"Bulma, do you know who Aloy likes?" Bill asked absentmindedly, fiddling with a coin on the table.
He had barely changed his trousers when he rushed into the tavern, trying to gather information and figure out Aloy's preferences. He was currently considering using the pretext of matchmaking to invite her to the riverbank.
"This... how could I possibly know something you don't even know?" The burly Bulma gave him an annoyed look, picked up her wine glass, and drank the wine in it in one gulp.
"However..." He changed the subject, stroking his chin thoughtfully, "Aloy's conditions are not bad. He's not outstanding in appearance, but he's not bad-looking either. The key is that he has a stable job in the blacksmith shop, which is already better than many people in Dragontooth Town. It's not like he's almost thirty and still hasn't been taken by anyone."
Bulma slapped her thigh and concluded, "In my opinion, he most likely has no interest in marriage!"
"Hmm...that makes sense." Bill knew Aloy was a good catch. "So, let's change things up. What if we got him a fine sword? Do you think he'd be overjoyed and studying it?"
"What? You want to ask him out?" Bulma guessed his intentions. "Putting everything else aside, let's talk about swords. Do you have one?"
"You don't understand." Bill boasted that he had a deep understanding of people's hearts. "If someone is particularly interested in a sword, even if they haven't seen it in person, but have only heard about it, they will still follow the clues."
"I understand..." Bulma clicked her tongue, a look of longing on her face. "Zeke often tells me that Iman's wife is bathing in the river. Although he always lies to me, I still can't help but go over there."
You seem quite interested in other people's wives?
Bill curled his lip in disdain, feeling that being drinking buddies with someone like Bulma was an insult to him.
"Anyway," Bill said, putting away his joking expression and getting back to the point, "as long as I figure out Aloy's preferences, even if I have nothing on me, I can still get him to come out with just a few words."
A customer at the next table overheard a few words, his face full of doubt, and asked, "You went through all that trouble just to get her to come out? And you're not going to care about anything after that?"
"That's right." Bill nodded.
"That's easy." The drinker was clearly drunk, his breath reeking of alcohol. "Just find a few people and kidnap Aloy. You don't care about the aftermath anyway. Kidnapping her and taking her away is pretty much the same thing, isn't it?"
After saying that, he poured himself another large glass of ale, his beard covered in foam.
Bill immediately erupted in a tirade: "Kidnapped?! Do you think the sheriff doesn't exist? Kidnapping is a much more serious crime than gambling..."
As he continued cursing, his voice grew softer and softer until it was almost inaudible.
"I understand, I understand, kidnapping is definitely out of the question." The patron took a sip of his drink, realizing the absurdity of his earlier words, and shook his head sheepishly. But when he looked up, he saw Bill's eyes growing brighter and brighter, as bright as the blazing candle on the tavern wall.
"You..." Fear rose on the faces of both the drinker and Bulma at the same time, as if they had been hit by a gust of wind, and the effects of the alcohol on them were immediately sobered up.
Is Bill out of his mind, or is he actually thinking of kidnapping someone?
If he actually does it, he'll be ruining the rest of his life!
Advise him, yes, you must advise him!
The two exchanged a glance, their eyes revealing their determination. Just as they were about to give Bill a long lecture, he suddenly jumped up from his stool, his face flushed.
"Let's go outside and talk, it'll help us sober up!"
"You...you've really made up your mind?" Bulma swallowed hard, cautiously probing.
"Yes! I've made up my mind!" Bill clenched his fist. "This time, I'll need your help!"
He really was going to kidnap someone!
Their pupils contracted sharply, and they quickly exchanged a glance, both with only one thought in their minds: Damn it, we have to stop this madman no matter what!
Bill walked out of the tavern with a grin, his mind racing with calculations.
His thinking was that just because he couldn't kidnap people before didn't mean he couldn't now!
Behind him now stands a formidable figure whom no one dares to offend!
The three turned into a quiet alleyway. Bill pinned the two men against the mottled wall and spoke first in a low voice.
"If this goes well, all three of us will benefit; if it doesn't..." He made a throat-slitting gesture, "...we'll all be finished!"
"Huh?" Bulma was already showing fear. "Bill, have you been threatened? I think we should report this to the sheriff quickly."
"With all those muscles you're built, you're afraid of tying on a skinny stick like me?!" Bill roared.
"This isn't about body shape, it's about principles..."
"Heh." The other person suddenly sneered, "I guess we couldn't escape once we got involved with you, right? Now our every move is under the surveillance of the person behind you."
"Oh my god, Tru, have you been reading too many fictional novels?" Bulma felt a chill run down her spine, but forced a smile as she spoke.
But out of the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of Bill's lips moving, silently uttering two words.
These two words made Bulma feel as if she had fallen into an ice cave, her blood freezing over.
"Got it? If we don't bring Aloy here by tomorrow night, the three of us will be leaving here on our backs." Bill said, hands on his hips, with a smug look on his face.
"Bill, I...!"
Bulma and Tru were so enraged that they didn't care about anything else and immediately pounced on Bill, punching and kicking him.
No matter what, beating this guy up first is definitely the right thing to do!
Afterwards, Bill lay on the ground, his face bruised and swollen, his teeth bleeding.
He sobbed, like the leader of the three.
"Meet here before dinner tomorrow... We'll ambush Aloy on his way home..."
……
The following evening, the setting sun cast a gentle glow.
Aloy remained calm, and no one knew what was going on in his deep eyes, nor did anyone care.
Her dark brown hair was streaked with large patches of white, and long strands of hair fell across her forehead, covering half of her eyes.
Like a gloomy middle-aged man.
Life expectancy was not long in the Middle Ages, and his family was poor, so his parents both died a few years ago due to poor health. As expected, he will likely be the longest-living member of the family.
Now he lives alone, so he just cooks something simple to eat and has lunch at the blacksmith's shop.
On the way home, a gentle breeze was blowing.
Eloi kept his head down, lost in thought, until three figures loomed over him, darkening his vision. He looked up, only to have a cloth bag covered his face.
What's going on?
The thought flashed through his mind for a moment, and then the bag was tied tightly. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't break free.
They've been kidnapped.
Slow thinking yields the answer.
