The landlord has multiple personalities and wants everyone to pay him.

When Ye Shu returned, she was carrying two large bags of things.

He went to several places to buy all sorts of things, including duck necks, braised dishes, cold dishes, peanuts and edamame, fried chicken, pastries and snacks... basically anything that could be eaten with alcohol or not, he bought a little of everything.

Although he didn't particularly like Qin Lili's bossy and domineering attitude, he always felt that she was too domineering and aggressive, which made him uncomfortable.

But in the end, she is Xia Qing's friend, and they seem to have a very good relationship.

Until now, Ye Shu has met their families, but Qin Lili is the first friend of Xia Qing.

For this reason alone, he had to maintain the situation and not put Xia Qing in a difficult position.

He unlocked the door, opened it, and went inside. A warm feeling mixed with the smell of alcohol wafted towards him.

The sunlight was just right in the living room. Xia Qing and Qin Lili sat on the sofa, leaning close together.

Several empty beer cans were scattered haphazardly on the coffee table, with water droplets still clinging to them.

The two men, each holding a can, were raising their glasses to clink.

Xia Qing leaned against Qin Lili's shoulder, her cheeks flushed and her eyes more hazy than usual, clearly she was already slightly tipsy.

She heard the door open, turned her head, and saw Ye Shu carrying large and small bags. Her eyes lit up immediately.

But then, his eyes flickered as he glanced at the pieces of evidence in his hand and on the coffee table. His expression was like that of a child caught stealing candy—guilty and ashamed.

She opened her mouth, as if to say something, but hesitated for a moment before finally speaking in a somewhat ingratiating tone:

"You're...you're back? You bought so much..."

She paused, but couldn't help herself, shaking the beer can still dripping with water in her hand, and said something to cover it up:

"Hey, this beer's not cold anymore! Really, it's been sitting here for ages!"

Seeing her guilty look, Ye Shu smiled and placed the bag on the dining table, then turned to look at Xia Qing on the sofa:

"Okay, as long as your stomach doesn't hurt."

There were no further questions, no lectures, and not even a second glance at the empty cans.

Ye Shu wasn't a controlling person to begin with. The reason he took charge of her lunch was because she had a stomachache.

As long as your stomach doesn't hurt, you can do whatever you want.

The nagging that Xia Qing had expected didn't happen. She was stunned for about a fraction of a second, and then a sweet feeling of being indulged welled up inside her.

Perhaps due to a slight buzz, or perhaps to show off a little, Xia Qing's lips curled upwards, and a remark quite out of character slipped out, her voice tinged with a hint of smugness:

"Hehe, he still loves me so much."

After saying that, she leaned closer to Qin Lili.

Qin Lili hadn't moved much since Ye Shu entered the room. She just leaned back on the sofa, holding a beer can, and quietly watched the two of them talk.

Upon hearing Xia Qing's declaration of showing off her husband, she raised an eyebrow, glanced at Ye Shu's face, and then looked at Xia Qing's smug little face on her shoulder.

This was the first time she had ever seen Xia Qing like this.

She didn't say anything, just tilted her head back, took a sip of beer, and then waved the beer can in her hand at Ye Shu as a greeting.

Ye Shu walked to the sofa and looked at Xia Qing leaning against Qin Lili:

"Xia Qing, can you two still drink? Eat something first."

Actually, given Xia Qing's usual alcohol tolerance, those few cans of beer on the table were barely enough to moisten her throat; she was far from being drunk.

But for some reason, perhaps the alcohol relaxed her mind, or perhaps Qin Lili's presence made her want to show off. She just wanted to go with the flow and put on a show.

She first grinned at Ye Shu, then stood up, without even putting on her slippers, took two steps towards him, and suddenly her body went limp, collapsing onto him as if she had no bones, humming softly.

"Then carry me there, I'm too lazy to walk."

Qin Lili saw right through her little scheme. She sat on the sofa, one hand on the back of the sofa and the other holding a beer can, watching the "Ye Shu carrying his wife" scene with great interest.

He tilted his head back and gulped down another mouthful of cold beer, clicking his tongue inwardly. This was way better than any kind of duck neck or anything like that to go with the beer.

Seeing Xia Qing fall over, Ye Shu quickly reached out to support her, a faint smell of alcohol mixed with her scent wafting over.

Ye Shu was a little helpless. Looking at the distance from the sofa to the dining table, she said:

"Just these two steps, and you still want to carry them...carry them! Carry them! Carry them, carry them, carry them!"

He shouted the last few "backs" because he was only halfway through his sentence when a sharp pain shot through his lower back.

Sure enough, when he looked down, he saw Xia Qing leaning against him, her face upturned, her eyes wide open, staring at him. The hazy feeling from before was gone, replaced by a threatening look that seemed to say, "You dare not carry this on your back?"

Seeing that he had given in, Xia Qing immediately withdrew the fierce look from her face. She stopped swaying and her legs were no longer weak. She walked behind Ye Shu and jumped lightly, hanging on Ye Shu's back.

Ye Shu supported her legs and carried her forward.

Xia Qing comfortably nestled against Ye Shu's back, her arms wrapped around his neck, and she rubbed her face against Ye Shu's hair.

Then, turning his head to look at Qin Lili, who was still sitting on the sofa watching them drink, he raised his eyebrows with a hint of smugness.

It's not just about showing off their relationship, but rather saying:

"Look at him, isn't he good-natured? He's so obedient; he'll carry you when I ask him to."

Qin Lili nodded to Xia Qing, finished the last bit of beer in the can, crushed the can, and got up to follow her.

The feeling of being carried was novel. Thinking about it carefully, she realized that apart from An Jianxing, she had hardly ever been carried. But even An Jianxing had carried her very few times.

An Jianxing loved her, but that love was heavy, full of protectiveness, like a mountain blocking her way, not the playful kind he was showing now.

Now, being carried on Ye Shu's back, even though it was only a short walk, the light and airy feeling made her very excited, and the little bit of willfulness that had risen in her heart due to alcohol and the presence of her friend swelled up even more.

She gently bumped her head against Ye Shu's head, deliberately mimicking the tone from TV:

"You idiot, walk carefully, slow down, or you'll make me fall."

Ye Shu smiled and played along with her act:

"Okay, sure."

Xia Qing looked at the back of Ye Shu's head and suddenly asked:

"Ye Shu, am I heavy?"

"Sinking..."

Ye Shu had barely uttered a word when he felt a small hand slowly press down on the soft flesh slightly below his armpit. Ye Shu inwardly knew something was wrong and quickly corrected himself:

"It's not heavy... just don't move around too much, or you'll fall."

Upon hearing this, Xia Qing was satisfied and withdrew her hand to hug Ye Shu's neck again.

Ye Shu thought to herself, "How did they come up with this? They're just picking on the weak."
