TV programs these days are getting more and more boring. Variety shows are either about a bunch of people going on trips or playing some boring little games.

Ye Shu lay on the sofa, almost falling asleep while watching TV.

Just as Ye Shu's eyelids started to droop, her phone, which was on the coffee table, suddenly started buzzing.

Ye Shu reached for the phone, glanced at it, and saw that it was an unfamiliar number. The caller's address wasn't Nancheng, but it wasn't his hometown either.

He didn't take it seriously.

These days, eight out of ten calls from strangers are sales pitches, one is a scam, and the remaining one is probably for legitimate business like deliveries or food delivery.

He originally intended to hang up immediately, but what if it was something important? If he missed the call and it caused a delay, he would have no way to regret it later.

This idea led him to develop a habit that was neither good nor bad: he always wanted to call back missed calls and habitually answered calls from unknown numbers.

But after swiping to answer the call, he held the phone to his ear without speaking.

This is a scam prevention tip he saw online. Apparently, some scammers will wait for you to speak first, then record some simple sounds like "yes," "um," or "right," and then use synthesis technology to synthesize your voice to scam your family.

Although she didn't know if it was true, Ye Shu still habitually remained silent and waited for the other party to introduce themselves.

Ye Shu didn't speak, but neither did the person on the other end, as if they were at odds with Ye Shu.

Three seconds later, Ye Shu hung up the phone.

Not going to talk? Then don't say anything.

He had no time to confront what he didn't know was a person or a machine. He casually put his phone back on the coffee table, turned over, and continued staring at the TV screen, feeling sleepy again.

However, just as I closed my eyes, my phone rang again.

Ye Shu picked up her phone and saw that it was still the same number.

Is this still not over?

Ye Shu still answered the phone. There aren't many scammers with this kind of persistence these days. He wanted to see what kind of nonsense the other side would spout this time.

He still held the phone to his ear, still remained silent.

However, this time the other side spoke first.

"Feed? Can you hear me?"

It was a woman's voice, somewhat high-pitched and shrill, with a heavy accent. It was the dialect of Ye Shu's hometown, but even heavier than the dialect of Ye Shu's hometown.

The voice was unfamiliar. Ye Shu ran through it in his mind; none of the women he knew from his hometown had this voice.

However, the accent from his hometown made Ye Shu feel a little more relaxed.

"Who are you?"

Ye Shu was waiting for the other person to say which relative they were, but the next sentence from the other person completely blew Ye Shu away.

The woman spoke in a high-pitched voice, with a very familiar yet somewhat affected tone:

"I am your second aunt."

You dialed the wrong number.

Without even thinking, Ye Shu hung up the phone.

The phone call ended, and the world fell silent, but the fire in Ye Shu's heart burned ever brighter.

Before the anger could subside, the phone rang again; it was the same number.

"Damn it!"

Ye Shu's last bit of patience was exhausted. He answered the phone again, but this time, before the other end could speak, he launched into a tirade:

"Are you crazy? I told you you've dialed the wrong number! Can't you understand human language? Call the police again!"

After hurling insults, he didn't give the other party any chance to retaliate before hanging up the phone and blocking the number.

After he finished, he tossed his phone onto the sofa, leaned back against it, closed his eyes, and caught his breath.

That's disgusting.

The bedroom door was gently pushed open, and An Suxue, having heard Ye Shu's last scolding, disregarded her own role as the mother of her child and slowly walked over, carrying potato chips.

"What's wrong?"

She stood by the sofa, looking at Ye Shu's stern face, and asked in a low voice.

Ye Shu opened his eyes, saw An Suxue, sat up straight, and patted the seat next to him.

An Suxue also sat down with potato chips in her arms, then bent down and put the chips on the ground.

Potato Chips is very perceptive; as soon as it landed, it strolled back to its little bed and lay down.

"A mentally ill person called and immediately claimed to be my second aunt."

Ye Shu was still somewhat indignant when he spoke, but he had suppressed much of his anger in front of An Suxue.

"Second Aunt... what's wrong?"

An Suxue didn't understand what Ye Shu was angry about.

Ye Shu explained:

"In my family, my mom is the second oldest. I only have an aunt, a third aunt, and a younger uncle. Where did I get a second aunt? I told her I dialed the wrong number, but she kept dialing endlessly."

His anger stemmed from a simple matter: the other party was blaming someone, specifically his second aunt, who was Ye Shu's deceased mother.

After listening, An Suxue didn't know what to say. She looked at the anger still lingering in Ye Shu's eyes, then gently placed her hand on Ye Shu's head and stroked his hair again and again.

"Okay, I understand."

She looked at Ye Shu and said, as if she were coaxing a child:

"Don't be angry, don't be angry. She's a liar. Just ignore her."

Ye Shu stared blankly at An Suxue's current state, and for a moment he wondered if Zhi Qiu was online.

But it felt different from what I felt for Sister Zhi Qiu, because her movements were very gentle, as if she didn't dare to touch Ye Shu too hard.

Moreover, her own face turned slightly red when she said these comforting words, clearly indicating that she also felt a little embarrassed.

But An Suxue gradually quelled the anger in Ye Shu's heart.

Seeing how earnestly Xiaoxue was trying to coax him, his mischievous side rekindled. He deliberately leaned against her, nuzzling his head against her shoulder, and began to hum softly.

"I'm so angry... my legs hurt from anger."

He's clearly being deliberately unreasonable; his anger has nothing to do with the ball on his ankle.

But An Suxue took it seriously. Hearing Ye Shu say this, she immediately tensed up and asked:

"Then...what should we do? Does it hurt a lot? Should we...should we go to the hospital?"

"Need not."

Ye Shu raised her head and met An Suxue's worried eyes, which held no doubt whatsoever.

Ye Shu moved her face closer to An Suxue, then touched her face twice and hummed in agreement.

An Suxue blinked, stared at Ye Shu's face for a while, and then asked:

"What happened to your face?"

She genuinely hadn't thought about it that way; her mind was completely focused on Ye Shu's legs.

Seeing her "stubborn" appearance, Ye Shu sighed and began to recite the mountain chant:

"Oh, my leg hurts. The doctor said that for this kind of injury, it's best to avoid getting angry or upset. Getting emotional affects blood circulation, which is really bad for recovery. You see, my leg started hurting as soon as I got angry."

As he spoke, he stole glances at An Suxue's reaction. Seeing that she really took it seriously, Ye Shu continued to embellish the story:

"My girlfriend's right here, and she's just watching me suffer, not even trying to do anything to comfort me... Ugh, it hurts, it really hurts, it's killing me..."

"I didn't say I wouldn't take care of you."

Seeing Ye Shu like this, An Suxue also became anxious:

"Then... what do you suggest we do?"

Seeing that An Suxue couldn't grasp this point, Ye Shu gave up on hinting and said directly:

"If my girlfriend could kiss me, I'd be overjoyed, and my fever would instantly disappear."

Hearing Ye Shu make it clear, An Suxue understood his wolfish ambitions.

As Ye Shu had predicted, her face flushed bright red, and her eyes began to dart around, avoiding Ye Shu's gaze. She shrank back, her lips trembling slightly, unable to utter a single word for a long time.

Ye Shu wasn't in a hurry. He just tilted his head and watched her, appreciating frame by frame her transformation from worry to confusion, then to sudden realization, and finally to blushing shyness.

An Suxue understood that Ye Shu was teasing her, trying to extort her, but... but what he said also seemed to make some sense... getting angry is bad for recovery...

And he really was angry just now...

With just a few words, An Suxue convinced herself to understand.

Then, she looked up at Ye Shu, who was still tilting his head and waiting to cool down. She swallowed hard, and with a quick effort, she bit Ye Shu's face like a mosquito.

Afterwards, she huddled on the sofa, her face flushed, and asked Ye Shu:

"Okay, okay?"

"That's great."

Ye Shumei said to An Suxue:

"This is better than Lao Tzu's elixir of immortality. I feel like I can jog again and even jump high. Don't believe me? I'll give you a demonstration."

As he spoke, Ye Shu pretended to actually get up.

An Suxue grabbed him and, blushing, said to Ye Shu:

"Stop...stop fooling around..."

Ye Shu sat on the sofa with a smile, continuing to admire Xiaoxue's shy demeanor.

But despite all the joking around, my leg really doesn't seem to hurt anymore.
