Little Warm's Strange Rules

1. When you are in the same room as Xiaonuan, you must not leave the bed without permission. The bed is a safe zone and the only area where you can move around.

2. When Xiao Nuan's gaze is clearly fixed on you, you must remain lying down or leaning against something, and you must not make any unnecessary movements.

3. If you have any physiological needs (including but not limited to eating, drinking, needing items, adjusting the indoor environment, etc.), you should verbally tell Xiaonuan, and Xiaonuan will provide comprehensive services.

4. You can get out of bed to go to the toilet, but Xiao Nuan must accompany you. The interval between two toilet visits must be no less than two hours, and the duration of each visit must not exceed ten minutes.

5. Do not come into contact with any electronic devices that may emit harmful radiation, such as mobile phones, tablets, game consoles, etc. If there is an emergency requiring you to contact the outside world, Xiao Nuan can do so on your behalf.

6. If you violate any of the above points, Xiao Nuan will immediately execute you with her laser eyes!!!

Ye Shu lay on the bed, going through the rules in his mind. The more he thought about it, the more rigorous it seemed. Adding a horror filter, Ye Shu really felt a little creeped out.

He turned to look at Xiao Nuan, who was still engrossed in her book. As he watched, he quietly reached out and gently poked her waist with his finger.

"Xiao Nuan, what book are you reading? You seem so engrossed."

Xiao Nuan turned to look at Ye Shu, closed the book in her hand halfway, and then showed the cover to Ye Shu.

"I was reading 'Mann's Foot and Ankle Surgery'."

Ye Shu was speechless. He had assumed that Xiao Nuan was reading some kind of novel or story, or at least a collection of essays.

The result... foot and ankle surgery?

Did she really go and devour such a thick, professional book just to manage herself?

It's amazing that she could watch it so intently.

After Xiao Nuan finished speaking, she turned back to reading her book.

Ye Shu was so bored he was practically rolling on the floor. He reached out and poked Xiao Nuan's waist again, asking:

"Hey, don't you feel itchy? Don't you have any ticklish spots?"

Xiao Nuan raised her head again, turned to look at him, and said:

"The skin and nerve distribution in my lower back are not sensitive to this type of touch, but the soles of my feet are more sensitive to this type of stimulation and will feel itchy."

"oh."

After Xiao Nuan finished answering, Ye Shu turned back to studying medicine.

He feels like a dried fish, unable to do anything but lie there.

Even the potato chips were kept out of the door by Xiao Nuan. I don't know why the potato chips were so obedient; they didn't scratch at the door or make a sound.

He lay on his side, his fingers beginning to untangle the hem of An Suxue's clothes, rolling the fabric into a roll, then unrolling it, then rolling it up again, then unrolling it again...

Two minutes later, Ye Shu tugged at Xiao Nuan's sleeve again:

"Xiao Nuan, I'm so bored, I'm going crazy. Find me something to do, anything is fine."

Xiao Nuan didn't find him annoying. She turned her head and stared at him, blinked, then closed the book in her hand, took off her glasses and put them on the bedside table.

"it is good."

She got out of bed and left the bedroom.

Ye Shu eagerly awaited Xiao Nuan's return, wondering what Xiao Nuan would give him to pass the time. Could it be practice problems?

After a while, Xiao Nuan returned, carrying a white box in her hand.

Ye Shu craned his neck to take a look. The box was only about the size of an A4 sheet of paper. There were no pictures or words printed on it, just a silver triangle logo in the corner. The packaging was quite... boring.

"Xiao Nuan, what are you holding?"

Xiao Nuan walked to the bedside, placed the box next to Ye Shu, and said succinctly:

"puzzle."

"puzzle?"

Ye Shu wanted to laugh a little. He remembered that when he was a child, his mother had bought him a lot of jigsaw puzzles, including all kinds of cartoons. Once you finished them, you would have a picture.

From dozens to hundreds of pieces, isn't it easy to pick them up and put them together with a single touch?

But what happens after you've finished spelling it out?

And that was it. It was put away in a box and left to gather dust in a corner. These are all disposable toys.

He has never been interested in such things and can't quite understand those people who can sit in front of a bunch of puzzle pieces all day long. What's the fun in that?

"Xiao Nuan."

Ye Shu spoke up and discussed it with Xiao Nuan:

"Isn't this something kids play with? How can you pass the time like this?"

Xiao Nuan didn't say anything, but opened the box, took out a wooden frame, and then took out a few pieces of plastic.

Ye Shu glanced at them and saw that there were only seven pieces in total. They were made of semi-transparent plastic sheets, and they were clean and tidy, without any pictures or drawings. They were just plain plastic sheets.

That's it?

Ye Shu picked up a piece and looked it over. Apart from the fact that the materials were indeed good, he really couldn't see what was so difficult about this thing.

"Isn't this...isn't this just teasing children?"

He felt like Xiao Nuan was treating him like he had a mental disability.

But how much of the world can a frog at the bottom of a well know?

Because I don't usually pay attention to or understand these seven puzzle pieces, I didn't know how dangerous they were.

It wasn't until later, when Ye Shu occasionally came across videos of "the little toys that Zhuge Liang gave to Zhang Fei back then," that he learned that this type of toy actually had an English name: puzzle.

These are all things for later; in any case, Ye Shu doesn't think much of these seven puzzle pieces right now.

Xiao Nuan spoke up from the side:

"Put all these pieces into this frame, lay them flat, and you're done."

Ye Shu looked at the seven puzzle pieces, then at Xiao Nuan next to him who had already started reading again, looking like she was saying, "Here, do as you please." She opened her mouth, but swallowed back all the words she wanted to say, like "What's so difficult about this?" and "Who do you think you are?"

Well, facts speak louder than words, I'll just have to fight for it myself.

Besides, it's so boring, this should at least last for two minutes.

Ye Shu reached out and rummaged through the few plastic bottles, thinking, "Just seven pieces, what's so difficult about that? It'll be a piece of cake."

Perfect timing, let's get this done quickly, then I can confidently tell Xiaonuan, "Look, this thing is so childish," and then apply for some other entertainment options.

Ye Shu didn't take this thing seriously at all. He just picked up the first few pieces casually, compared them to the frame, and put them in perfectly.

He thought to himself, "Sure enough."

Then the fourth, fifth, and sixth pieces can also be put in by slightly adjusting the angle.

The problem lies in the last piece.

After putting in the first six pieces, the last piece always ends up with a small tuft.

Ye Shu didn't pay much attention at first, just took them all out and tried them a few more times.

But this one attempt took more than two hours.

He was covered in sweat, staring at the last piece of the jade, which still had an extra small corner, his eyes practically bulging out of their sockets.

"What...what is this thing?!"

He turned his head, looked at Xiao Nuan who hadn't even glanced at him, and asked:

"Is there something wrong with this thing? It shouldn't even fit in! The frame is clearly too small!"

Xiao Nuan slowly closed the book, turned her head, glanced at the frame with six puzzle pieces in front of Ye Shu, then looked at Ye Shu's exasperated face and said calmly:

"You can put it in."

"impossible!"

Ye Shu then gestured the puzzle pieces in her hand on the frame again:

"Absolutely not! I've tried at least eighty or a hundred times, look at this one, it's clearly sticking out too much!"

Ye Shu felt that her intelligence had been insulted.

Xiao Nuan didn't say anything more, she just looked at him calmly, her eyes seeming to ask: Are you sure?

Ye Shu felt a little guilty under her gaze, but still handed the piece in her hand to Xiao Nuan:

"Then you put one down and see. If you're so capable, you do it."

Xiao Nuan took the last piece, poured out the six pieces from the box, and then, right under Ye Shu's nose, slowly put the pieces back in one by one.

But this time, the last piece was also pressed in perfectly in Xiao Nuan's hands.

Ye Shu stared at the seven puzzle pieces, speechless for a long time. He even wondered if the seven puzzle pieces had shrunk!

He looked up at Xiao Nuan's still expressionless face and silently asked, "How did you do that?"

However, Xiao Nuan didn't give him much time to observe. She reached out and poured out the puzzle pieces again, then placed an empty wooden frame in front of Ye Shu and said two words to him:

Let's fight it out.
