Happy birthday, Uncle!

Leng Keyan's voice was exceptionally loud, penetrating the entire hall and drawing everyone's attention.

Yin Siyao followed behind her. The two walked in one after the other, one beaming with joy, the other looking embarrassed.

Yin Siyao quickly stepped forward, her tone apologetic: "I'm sorry we're late. There was a traffic jam on the way; we should have arrived much earlier..."

Lu Er waved her hand, her gaze sweeping between the two of them.

Finally, her gaze fell on Leng Keyan's grinning face, and she let out a meaningful "Oh."

"Siyao, don't take the blame upon yourself."

Lu Er said with certainty, "Nine times out of ten, it's because Leng Keyan is a heartless person."

That's a straightforward and precise statement.

Yin Siyao's face flushed red instantly, from her ears all the way down to her neck, and she wished she could disappear into a crack in the ground.

She glared at Leng Keyan and shook off Leng Keyan's outstretched hand.

Leng Keyan shrank back at the glare, then turned and hugged Lu Er, rubbing against her like a large dog.

"Uncle, my dearest uncle! Please forgive me this once!"

"I promise, from now on your birthday, I'll get up before dawn and be the first one there. I swear!"

Lu Er leaned back as she was being rubbed, and pushed the person away in disgust: "Alright, alright, you're such a grown-up, stop acting like a child."

Leng Keyan wasn't annoyed by being pushed away. She stood up straight with a grin, then moved closer to Yin Siyao and quietly tried to hold her hand.

Yin Siyao shook him off without even glancing at him.

The group walked in a grand procession toward the banquet hall.

The moment Lu Er pushed open the door, she was stunned: the banquet hall's decorations far exceeded her expectations.

Crystal chandeliers hung from the high dome, refracting dazzling light and illuminating the entire hall in a magnificent golden glow.

Roses are everywhere, red, pink, and white, clustered in various shapes, adorning every corner.

Colorful balloons floated on the ceiling, and long ribbons hung down, swaying gently in the wind.

A huge banner hangs on the wall in the very center.

The sign above reads "Happy Birthday Lu Er," and next to it are several cute cartoon figures.

Song Jingmo looked at him gently: "Do you like it?"

Lu Er wanted to say something, but was surrounded by the crowd and led inside.

"Birthday star, come in quickly!"

"Don't stand by the door, sit down! You're the boss today!"

Lu Er was pushed forward, feeling as if she was floating.

This birthday is really different.

Lunch was a lively affair.

Dishes were served one after another, wine was poured one glass after another, and laughter and cheerful conversation filled the air.

Lu Er was seated in the main seat, with Song Jingmo to her left, her grandfather to her right, and Leng Qinghua opposite her.

While dealing with everyone's toasts, I was also bombarded with all sorts of blessings, leaving me dizzy and disoriented.

"Uncle, let me toast you!"

Leng Keyan raised her glass and drank it all in one gulp.

Happy birthday, Mr. Lu!

Lu Chen joked, a smile playing on his lips.

"Little deer, Grandpa wishes you good health and all the best."

The old man raised his teacup and smiled kindly.

Lu Er was surrounded by flowers and smiling faces, drinking glass after glass of wine.

Just as things were getting lively, a small figure squeezed through the crowd.

Lu Ming was wearing a red Tang suit, with a round face and neatly combed hair.

Holding a bouquet of flowers bigger than herself, she wobbled toward Lu Er, her eyes sparkling.

"Uncle!"

The little one called out in a sweet, childish voice, "Happy birthday!"

Lu Er quickly bent down to take the bouquet and then picked the person up.

He kissed Lu Ming on the cheek: "Thank you, baby. This flower is so beautiful."

Lu Ming giggled as he was kissed, and said proudly, "I bought the flowers myself; I used the New Year's money my grandma gave me!"

The entire audience burst into laughter.

"Wow, even Luming is sending flowers now!"

Luo Bingbing laughed so hard she couldn't stand up straight, and grabbed Lu Chen's arm: "Oh my goodness, you only bought this bouquet of flowers with your New Year's money?"

Lu Ming didn't know what the adults were laughing at, but seeing everyone laughing, he chuckled along, revealing a few tiny teeth.

Lu Er smiled so hard her eyes crinkled, hugged Lu Ming even tighter, and kissed him repeatedly: "Okay, Uncle will definitely keep it safe."

Lu Ming giggled as he was kissed, then snuggled closer to Lu Er.

A waiter pushed in a huge cake.

The cake was a meter tall, layered and decorated with delicate sugar flowers and chocolate.

At the very top are two small figures made of fondant, holding hands and smiling brightly.

"Wow--"

The crowd gasped in amazement.

The old man smiled and waved, "Little Deer, come and cut the cake."

Lu Er looked at the cake, which was taller than her, and couldn't help but laugh and cry: "This is way too big..."

Song Jingmo stood up, walked to Lu Er's side, and took the knife handed to him by the waiter.

The two of them gripped the knife together and slowly made the first cut.

Applause and cheers erupted simultaneously, and flashbulbs popped incessantly.

Lu Ming clapped his hands and jumped around, shouting, "Time for cake! Time for cake!"

After the cake was cut, the music changed; the cheerful birthday song was replaced by a soothing and romantic tune.

Lu Ming emerged from the crowd, holding an exquisite flower basket in his hands. He skipped and hopped over to Song Jingmo, holding the basket high in the air.

"Uncle, here you go!"

The little guy's voice was clear and loud.

Song Jingmo took the flower basket, bent down and kissed the little guy on the forehead: "Thank you, Luming."

Lu Ming completed his mission and happily ran back to Luo Bingbing's side.

Song Jingmo took a dark blue velvet box out of the flower basket.

He walked up to Lu Er and slowly knelt down on one knee.

The entire room fell silent.

Song Jingmo opened the box, and inside lay two rings.

The design is simple and elegant, with tiny diamonds set in the platinum band, sparkling gently under the light.

"Er Er".

Song Jingmo spoke, his voice low and clear, with a slight tremor.

"Last time I said, if anyone's going to kneel, it'll be me."

Song Jingmo raised his head, his gaze fixed on the other person's face, his tenderness overflowing. "Now I kneel down."

He paused, took a deep breath, and his voice became more steady:

"I want to ask you, would you like to be with me forever?"

All eyes were on Lu Er, and Leng Qinghua's eyes reddened slightly.

Song Sinian and Qu Suiwan looked at each other and smiled. The old man couldn't stop smiling, while Luo Bingbing covered her mouth and leaned on Lu Chen's shoulder.

Leng Keyan held Yin Siyao's hand tightly.

Lu Er looked down at the person kneeling in front of her, at the ring in front of her, and at the seriousness and affection in Song Jingmo's eyes.

He raised his left hand and shook the ring on his ring finger, a ring he had worn for a long time.

"Didn't I already propose?"

Lu Er's voice was tinged with laughter, "How long have you been wearing this ring?"

Song Jingmo looked at the person, her gaze gentle yet firm: "This time it's my turn, in front of all the family members."

"Lu'er, will you stay with me forever?"

Looking at her family members who were all concerned about her, Lu Er felt a lump in her throat.

"I've been willing for a long time."

As she spoke, she reached out her hand and presented it to Song Jingmo, her fingers trembling slightly.

Song Jingmo took out one of the rings from the box, held Lu Er's hand, and carefully slipped it onto her ring finger.

Then, he took out another ring and handed it to Lu Er.

Lu Er took the ring, lowered her head, and carefully slipped it onto Song Jingmo's left finger.

The two rings shimmered under the light, reflecting each other with a halo of happiness.

The audience erupted in enthusiastic applause and cheers.

Congratulations!

"Give me a kiss, give me a kiss!"

Leng Keyan took the lead in making a fuss, and her voice was the loudest.

Yin Siyao tried to pull him away but couldn't.

The old man smiled broadly and said "good" several times.

Lu Ming, unaware of what was happening, clapped his hands and called out in a childish voice, "Kiss, kiss!"

Song Jingmo smiled and, in full view of everyone, lowered his head and kissed Lu Er.

Lu Er closed her eyes and responded to the kiss.

The cheers of my family filled my ears, the scent of roses filled my nose, and the familiar, gentle touch touched my lips.

This must be what happiness looks like.

Being with loved ones, blessed by family, and seen by the whole world.
