The whole process was clean and efficient.

A hint of surprise appeared in the eyes of Morigen and the dozen or so members of the Lie Ri Lan tribe.

They had seen Divine Saviors from the temple before, but they had never seen a second-tier early-stage Divine Savior so cleanly and efficiently deal with two elite barbarian soldiers.

This young man is definitely not simple.

The commotion of the fight instantly attracted the attention of the other six patrolling barbarian soldiers.

Without pausing, Shen Zhen and Chen Xi transformed into two swift shadows and charged straight at the enemy group.

The two worked together seamlessly, their fists and weapons transforming into a reaping force.

Shen Zhen's fist shattered bones, Chen Xi twisted her wrist to snatch the knife, and in the blink of an eye, four barbarian soldiers fell to the ground screaming.

Seeing that things were going badly, the last two barbarian soldiers turned around and ran wildly toward the gate of the sacrificial site, trying to warn others and call for help.

"We can't let them go!"

Shen Zhen will not give them a chance.

The weapon that Chen Xi threw accurately pierced the back of one of the barbarian soldiers, while another barbarian soldier was instantly caught up by Shen Zhen and cut down with the Nian Jie Chi, falling unconscious on the spot.

The Lie Ri Lan tribe members finally snapped out of their shock.

"Quick! Open the cage and rescue them!" Morigen led his men towards the wooden cage.

Although they had been detained for many days, they still had the strength to smash the locks and break the cages. Several wooden cages were quickly smashed open, and the imprisoned vendors poured out in a panic and excitement.

Hu Sandao and the others were finally rescued, and they were so excited that they almost cried as soon as they were released from their cages.

"Thank you so much for saving my life, sir! Thank you..." Hu Sandao knelt on the ground and kowtowed to Shen Zhen who had come over.

"Get up, this isn't the time to kowtow," Shen Zhen grabbed him and pulled him up. "Grab your weapons!"

He then looked at Morigen, who had picked up his weapon and whose eyes had regained their fierceness.

Morigen spat: "I've had enough of this. It's time to let those wolf cubs of Batu see some blood."

Shen Zhen nodded, his gaze turning towards the gate of the sacrificial altar.

"Get ready to charge out—"

Before he could finish speaking...

The heavy gates of the sacrificial site were suddenly flung open.

Torches lit up the outside, and at least forty barbarian soldiers surged in. Their leader, carrying a large, demon-headed sword, roared in a frenzied voice, his eyes wide with rage:

"Kill them! Don't let a single sacrifice escape!"

More than forty barbarian soldiers rushed forward.

Shen Zhen's eyes turned cold, and he was about to fight back when suddenly a louder battle cry came from outside the sacrificial ground.

"Kill them! Surround them!"

It was Ye Zhi Qiu's voice; he was bluffing and creating chaos on the outside.

"Reinforcements have arrived!" Shen Zhen shouted immediately, boosting morale. "Attack from both sides! Charge out!"

Almost simultaneously, Zhao Huaijin and Boss Hu emerged from the shadows on the side, piercing the barbarian soldiers' rear like sharp knives. The barbarian soldiers' formation instantly fell into chaos.

A chaotic battle broke out.

The newly rescued people displayed a strong will to survive.

Hu Sandao and the other peddlers swung their knives wildly, like mad tigers; Morigen and his scorching warriors were even more ferocious, forming a counterattack and unleashing all the anger they had been holding for days.

But the most eye-catching one was Shen Zhen.

He wielded the ruler in his hand, moving through the barbarian soldiers as if they were nothing.

With one strike, the barbarian soldier's sternum shattered.

With one thrust, another barbarian soldier's throat was pierced.

His movements were elusive, and every strike he made was precise and deadly.

Chen Xi moved like a shadow, specifically targeting enemies affected by Shen Zhen or those who revealed weaknesses. Her weapon appeared and disappeared unpredictably, and with each flash, a barbarian soldier would fall down clutching his throat or chest.

Ye Zhi Qiu and Zhao Huai Jin were also in a bloodthirsty frenzy.

Both of them were elites of the temple. Although their practical experience was not as rich as Shen Zhen's, their basic skills were solid.

The battle lasted only the time it takes to brew a cup of tea.

Of the more than forty barbarian soldiers, more than half were killed or wounded, and the rest, seeing the situation was not good, began to retreat towards the gate.

"Trying to run?" Ye Zhi Qiu sneered, about to give chase.

"Stop chasing them!" Shen Zhen stopped him. "Our goal is to save people, not to kill them all. Let's get out of here now!"

The crowd then realized what was happening and quickly gathered together.

Shen Zhen quickly counted the number of people: twelve from the Lie Ri Lan tribe, five peddlers, and fifteen herdsmen.

Our side consists of six people: myself, Chen Xi, Ye Zhi Qiu, Zhao Huai Jin, Boss Hu, and Agutuo...

"Where's Agutuo?" Shen Zhen suddenly realized that someone was missing.

"That coward tried to slip away again!" Zhao Huaijin gritted his teeth. "I stopped him, and now he's hiding at the back!"

Shen Zhen looked towards the back of the crowd.

Agutuo huddled behind Hu Sandao, his face pale and his legs trembling.

Seeing Shen Zhen looking over, he quickly forced a smile:

"Sir, I'm here... I didn't run away, really!"

Shen Zhen didn't have time to argue with him.

"Everyone, stay close to me..."

He hadn't finished speaking.

A cold voice suddenly came from outside the gate of the sacrificial site.

The voice wasn't loud, but it clearly reached everyone's ears.

"Trying to leave?"

"Did you ask me?"

In the torchlight, a figure draped in a black robe of bone fragments slowly walked into the sacrificial site.

It was the shaman who had left earlier.

Behind him followed eight men dressed in black robes, exuding a sinister aura.

When Agut saw the shaman, he trembled with fear and almost knelt on the ground.

When Morigen and the other members of the Lie Ri Lan tribe saw the shaman, their eyes turned red.

"It was you..." Morigen gripped his longsword tightly, gritting his teeth, "It was you who led the attack on our camp and killed more than ten of our people..."

The shaman glanced at him, his eyes indifferent.

"You ants of the Lie Ri Lan tribe, it is your honor to become the sacrifice for our god's resurrection."

"I'll fight you to the death!" Morigen roared, brandishing his knife and charging forward.

The dozen or so Lie Ri Lan tribesmen behind him also turned red-eyed and rushed forward.

"Don't be impulsive!" Shen Zhen tried to stop him, but it was too late.

The people of the Lie Ri Lan tribe were already engaged in battle with the black-robed followers behind the shaman.

The melee broke out again.

Morigen's long sword slashed straight at the shaman's face.

His strike was delivered with fury, so fast it created a whooshing sound. The blade gleamed coldly in the torchlight. This was a desperate attack, one that even a mid-stage second-tier cultivator wouldn't dare to take head-on.

The shaman didn't even lift his eyelids.

He simply raised his bone staff slightly and tapped it in front of him.

clang!

The long sword struck the bone staff, producing a metallic clang.

Morigen felt a tremendous force coming from the blade, his hand instantly splitting open and the longsword flying out of his grasp. He was thrown backward by the recoil and was supported by two of his tribesmen.

"That's it?" The shaman's voice was flat, revealing neither joy nor anger.

He tapped the bone cane again.

Suddenly, ripples appeared in the air, and two black streams of air appeared out of thin air, shooting towards Morgen like venomous snakes.

Shen Zhen moved.

Just now, he noticed the unusual movement of the green lamp, so he took out the green lamp, stepped forward, and appeared in front of Morigen. The green lamp emitted a faint green light, which condensed into an invisible shield.

puff!

puff!

puff!

Two streams of black energy collided with the shield formed by the blue lamp, producing a muffled sound before dissipating into nothingness.

The shaman finally raised his eyes and looked at Shen Zhen.

"What is this?" His voice held a hint of emotion.

"Interesting... It's rather surprising that a junior at the early stage of the second tier could block my attack."

Shen Zhen did not respond.

He stared at the shaman, his senses fully activated.

At the peak of the late stage of the second tier, and not just any ordinary late stage of the second tier.

The aura emanating from this shaman was completely different from the mental power of ordinary cultivators, as if he had been immersed in mountains of corpses and seas of blood for many years.

What's more troublesome is that the eight black-robed followers behind the shaman are also at the early stage of the second tier.
