Mo Ye lowered his head, his lips close to her ear, his voice low and tinged with a mischievous smile: "This is actually edible."

He Wanqing's eyes widened, her mouth opened and closed repeatedly, like a fish being pulled ashore.

Her voice was urgent and shy, stammering, "I........you........"

She didn't want to talk anymore; how could that be...?

She glared at him, her eyes screaming, "Are you a devil?"

Mo Ye looked completely innocent, his voice carrying a hint of self-righteousness: "But I..."

He Wanqing quickly reached out and covered his mouth, her face already as red as a boiled shrimp, her voice both urgent and shy: "I was wrong, okay?"

Mo Ye chuckled softly, pulled her hand down, held it in his palm, and gently rubbed his thumb on the back of her hand: "You'll get used to it."

He Wanqing glared at him angrily, squeezing out a few words through gritted teeth: "I won't help you like this again."

Mo Ye reached out and hugged her, burying his face in the crook of her neck and nuzzling her, his voice soft as if he were pleading, "Will you help me?"

He Wanqing's heart softened as he rubbed against her, like a piece of candy melted in the sun.

She turned her head to the side, her voice muffled, carrying a hint of reluctant compromise: "Let's talk about it later."

Mo Ye rubbed against her soft chest, his voice light and cheerful like a cat that had just stolen a fish: "Thank you, sister."

He Wanqing's voice was cool, with a hint of warning: "Don't call me that."

Mo Ye immediately changed his tune, his voice becoming obedient and soft: "Thank you, wife."

He Wanqing's tone was still cool, but the corners of her mouth had already turned up: "Don't be too happy yet. Maybe if you make me unhappy, I won't help you."

Mo Ye lowered his head and kissed her on the cheek, his voice firm as if he were making a vow: "How could I possibly make my sister unhappy?"

He Wanqing lowered her head a little embarrassed, and then felt Mo Ye's leg rub against her side.

She was stunned, her voice trembling: "Mo Ye, you........"

Mo Ye lowered his head, his lips close to her ear, his voice low and seductive:

"It's okay, I'll just... rub against you."

He Wanqing's mind was about to explode.

That scoundrel, how can he come up with all sorts of tricks?

But she also felt a bit excited, like riding a roller coaster for the first time, both scared and expectant.

She hugged him, burying her face in his chest, her voice muffled, carrying a hint of resigned helplessness:

"Hurry up, I still want to sleep."

It ended an hour later.

He Wanqing raised her head, glared at Mo Ye with a look of resentment and reproach, like a kitten that had been bullied: "You bad guy, are you satisfied now?"

Mo Ye looked completely satisfied, like a cat that had eaten and drunk its fill. He nodded, his voice soft and gentle: "Thank you, baby."

He Wanqing angrily shook her hand, as if shooing away an annoying fly: "Finish your work this afternoon yourself."

Mo Ye nodded, nodding like a chick pecking at rice: "Wife, you should rest well. I'll take care of the work this afternoon."

He Wanqing nodded in satisfaction, reached out and patted his head, like petting an obedient dog: "Good boy."

Mo Ye's lips curled up slightly. He lowered his head, his lips close to her ear, and whispered with a mischievous smile, "Sister, don't stroke my head, stroke other places."

He Wanqing froze for a second, then realized what she meant, her face flushing red. Her voice was a mix of urgency and embarrassment: "You naughty boy, all you can think about is this!"

Mo Ye looked at her, unable to suppress the smile on his lips, his voice carrying a serious and determined tone:

"People say doing this helps maintain a good relationship between husband and wife. I want our relationship to be stronger than ever, so what should we do?"

He Wanqing blurted out, "Do more."

Then she realized what he meant, glared at Mo Ye, and said in a voice that was both embarrassed and anxious, "You bad guy!"

Mo Ye nodded, his face showing an expression that said, "I'm satisfied."

He Wanqing turned around angrily, her back to him, and said in a muffled voice, "I'm going to take a shower."

Mo Ye picked up the shower gel from behind, squeezed some into his palm, lathered it up, and then applied it to her back with very gentle and careful movements.

He Wanqing stood there quietly, letting his fingers trace circles on her back.

After a while, she also picked up the shower gel, squeezed some into her palm, lathered it up, turned around, stood on tiptoe, and began to wash him.

The two stood facing each other, water pouring from the showerhead, flowing down their hair, across their cheeks, over their collarbones, across their chests, and finally landing on the ground, forming a thin river.

Mo Ye wrapped her in a bath towel and carried her out of the bathroom.

He placed her on the bed, picked up the hairdryer, plugged it in, and the hot air blew as his fingers slowly ran through her hair, drying each strand of her wet hair.

The hairdryer stopped, and he bent down to pull the towel off her.

He Wanqing sat naked on the bed, her legs together, her left foot on top of her right, like a mermaid who had been pulled ashore.

Her voice trailed off with a hint of coquettishness: "Could you get me a nightgown?"

Mo Ye looked down at her shy little face, a slight smile playing on his lips, his voice tinged with a hint of mischief: "Just sleep like this."

He put the bath towel in the bathroom and came out. He found He Wanqing wrapped in the quilt, with only her head showing. Her hair was spread out on the pillow, like a blooming flower.

Mo Ye also crawled into the blanket and reached out to pull her into his arms.

Their skin pressed together, like two puzzle pieces fitting together perfectly.

He Wanqing felt the warmth emanating from his body, like a large heater, warming her whole body.

She snuggled against his chest, found the most comfortable spot, and closed her eyes.

Her breathing quickly became long and even, and her body slowly went limp in his arms.

Mo Ye looked down at the person who had fallen into a deep sleep in his arms and gave a bitter smile.

Her softness clung to his body, and her fragrance permeated his very being.

He felt he had only himself to blame; he should have put her dressed earlier. Now, this was torture for him.

He gently patted her back, one pat at a time, very slowly.

His fingers traced circles on her back, his gaze fixed on her peaceful sleeping face.

Since he couldn't sleep anyway, he picked up his phone, turned off the sound, opened a shopping app, and started looking at diamond rings.

The light from the screen shone on his face, casting flickering shadows on her profile.

He was so engrossed in watching that he didn't even notice when the person next to him woke up.

He Wanqing opened her eyes, peeked at his phone screen from above his shoulder, and slowly curled up the corners of her mouth.

She just stared at the sparkling rings on his phone with her eyes open.

Mo Ye switched to a different page, swiped his thumb across the screen, and then saw her face in the reflection of the phone screen.

He turned to look at her, his gaze as gentle as spring water: "What's wrong? Aren't you going to sleep?"

He Wanqing snuggled closer to him, shrinking herself into an even smaller ball, her voice as soft as cotton candy, with a hint of coquetry: "I can't sleep if I see this."

Mo Ye smiled, reached out and pulled her closer to him, resting his chin on the top of her head: "Then shall we watch it together?"

He Wanqing nodded and brought her face close to his phone screen.

The two of them put their heads close together and started looking at the diamond rings.

He Wanqing swiped her fingers across the screen, zooming in on things she liked to see the details, and swiping away things she didn't like.

Mo Ye didn't interrupt, but quietly watched her choose.

Finally, He Wanqing stopped at a ring face, looked at it for a while, then exited, flipped through the previous ones, opened that one again, zoomed in to look at the details on the side, looked at the setting on the front, and then returned the phone to Mo Ye.

"This looks good." Her voice was soft, but firm.

Mo Ye glanced at the ring, then at He Wanqing. Her eyes were bright, shining even brighter than diamonds.

He took a screenshot of the photo, then put down his phone, lowered his head, and pressed his lips to her forehead: "Let's go to the physical store to take a look later."

He Wanqing nodded in his arms, unable to suppress the smile on her lips.

Her heart was pounding, like a little deer was running wild inside it.

Have we finally reached this point?

Seeing her happy expression, Mo Ye felt his heart filled with something warm and comforting.

Nothing is more important than spending the rest of my life with her.

She was the one who would stay with him until the end; no one could replace her in his heart.

He reached out and gently patted her back, once, once, very slowly and softly. "Go to sleep."

He Wanqing was a little excited and tossed and turned, unable to fall asleep.

Her mind was filled with the image of that ring, how she imagined it on her ring finger, the light refracting from every facet of the diamond like a tiny, everlasting flower.

Mo Ye didn't rush her, but gently patted her and coaxed her.

Half an hour passed, and He Wanqing's breathing finally became long and even. Her body slowly relaxed in Mo Ye's arms, like a ship finally reaching the shore.

Mo Ye looked down at her peaceful sleeping face and placed a very light kiss on her forehead.

Mo Ye dozed off for a while, then woke up quickly.

He didn't move, first looking down at the person in his arms. He Wanqing was still asleep, her face pressed against his chest, her arms around his waist, her legs wrapped around his legs, her whole body clinging to him like an octopus, her breathing long and even, her eyelashes drooping quietly.

He gently, inch by inch, removed her arms from his waist, moved her legs off his legs, and then slowly pulled his body out of her embrace, his movements careful, as if afraid of waking her.

He Wanqing frowned in her sleep, feeling that the warm, familiar support beside her was gone.

She groggily reached out and touched the bed a few times, but found nothing, and her brows furrowed even more.

Mo Ye reacted quickly and stuffed the pillow into her arms.

He Wanqing hugged the pillow and sniffed it, as if confirming something.

Then she clamped the pillow between her legs, buried her face in it, her brows relaxed, and she fell into a deep sleep again.

Mo Ye looked down at himself, now replaced by a pillow, in his arms and couldn't help but laugh.

He bent down and kissed her slightly pouting lips, then turned and walked out of the lounge...
