He Wanqing glared at her, her voice tinged with reproach: "Tongtong, don't be silly."

The homeroom teacher smiled, bent down, and looked Tongtong in the eye.

"If Tongtong gets a perfect score, the teacher will reward you with five thousand yuan."

Tongtong's eyes instantly turned into the shape of "¥¥", like two shiny gold coins.

She stretched out her chubby little hand and said in her sweet, childish voice, "Pinky promise!"

The homeroom teacher also extended her little finger and hooked it with hers.

The group then separated.

Mo Ye and He Wanqing were both amused and exasperated by Tongtong's greedy behavior.

They had previously said they could give her money, but Tongtong said it was better to earn it herself, so the two of them let her have her way.

Mo Ye started the car and took the mother and daughter to the mall.

Tongtong sat in her high chair in the back seat, counting on her chubby little hands: "Thirty thousand... thirty-five thousand..."

She counted it once, then again, her little face beaming with excitement, as she exclaimed in her sweet, childish voice, "Yay! Thirty-five thousand yuan!"

He Wanqing turned to look at her from the passenger seat. "Tongtong, are you so sure you got a perfect score?"

Tongtong puffed out her little chest: "Yes, Tongtong is the best!"

He Wanqing fell silent.

This child really doesn't know what humility is.

"Tongtong, you need to be more humble."

Tongtong tilted her little head and asked in her childish voice, "Didn't Mommy say that children shouldn't lie?"

He Wanqing was taken aback, opened her mouth but then closed it again, finally managing to squeeze out only, "Fine, whatever you like."

She changed the subject, "Tongtong, what do you want to eat?"

Upon hearing this, Tongtong's invisible little tail began wagging wildly: "Tongtong wants fried chicken!"

He Wanqing frowned slightly. Why was she eating this kind of junk food again?

Mo Ye glanced at her in the rearview mirror, knew what she was thinking, and said, "I'll take care of it."

Tongtong immediately cheered, "Yay! Daddy's fried chicken is the best in the world!"

Mo Ye bought chicken and potatoes at the mall, along with some breadcrumbs and seasonings, before heading home.

Back home, Mo Ye tied on an apron, went into the kitchen, and began preparing.

Tongtong lay on the kitchen doorway, her chubby little hands gripping the door frame, her neck stretched out like a kitten waiting to be fed.

When the oil sizzled in the pan, her little nose twitched, and she was practically drooling.

He Wanqing sat on the sofa, flipping through a magazine, but her gaze kept drifting to the small, round figure at the kitchen door, and the corners of her mouth unconsciously turned up.

The feeling of pride for her daughter welled up inside her like a warm spring, and she couldn't suppress it.

When Mo Ye brought out the fried chicken, its golden and crispy skin was still bubbling with tiny oil bubbles, making a sizzling sound.

Tongtong followed behind him like a little tail, her short legs moving incredibly fast, her chubby little hands waving in the air, and her little mouth chattering away: "Coming, coming, coming~"

Mo Ye placed the plate in the center of the dining table, turned around and saw his daughter standing on tiptoe, craning her neck to look at the table, with drool faintly visible at the corner of her mouth.

He couldn't help but laugh, bending down to rub her little head: "Tongtong, wait a minute, she's still a little hot."

Tongtong puffed out her little chest: "Tongtong knows, Tongtong isn't stupid!"

"Tongtong isn't stupid, but she's a little glutton."

Tongtong pouted, her voice muffled, carrying a hint of protest and defense: "Tongtong is only a tiny bit greedy!"

Mo Ye repeated with a look of doting affection, "Okay, okay, a little bit."

Tongtong climbed onto her little chair and sat down, placing her two chubby little hands on the table and staring intently at the plate of fried chicken.

Then she realized that the plate was placed right in the middle of the table, and her little arms couldn't reach it at all.

Her little face instantly lit up with accusation: "Daddy~"

Mo Ye pretended not to hear and turned to go to the kitchen to get the dipping sauce.

Tongtong turned to look at He Wanqing, who was looking down at a magazine and didn't even look up.

Tongtong stirred her chubby little hands, then could only wait quietly. Her little face was pressed against the table, her plump cheeks squeezed out of shape, like a flattened glutinous rice ball, and her eyes were fixed on the plate of fried chicken.

He Wanqing caught a glimpse of her daughter's "I'm starving" expression out of the corner of her eye, and couldn't help but smirk slightly, but quickly suppressed it and continued flipping through the magazine.

Mo Ye had just finished preparing the dipping sauce and stepped out when her phone rang.

He picked up his phone and saw it was a call from Jiang Hui.

He swiped to answer the call, holding the phone to his ear: "Hello, Mom, what's up?"

Jiang Hui's voice came through the receiver: "Has Tongtong finished her exam? How did it go?"

Mo Ye said quietly, "You never cared about my grades when I was a child."

Jiang Hui laughed in anger at his words: "You have the nerve to say that? I can't even be bothered to talk back to you! You play on the computer all day long. I want to live a couple more years so I don't get driven to death by you."

Mo Ye was a little embarrassed, and lowered his voice: "Tongtong said she got a perfect score."

Jiang Hui's voice immediately rose several octaves: "Oh my! You inherited Wanqing's excellent genes! It's a good thing you didn't inherit them."

Mo Ye couldn't help but retort, "Am I that bad?"

Jiang Hui said quietly, "I didn't know that someone failed elementary school math."

Mo Ye was taken aback by her words, his voice muffled: "I just didn't want to take the exam."

Jiang Hui was too lazy to argue with him and changed the subject: "When are you coming home?"

Mo Ye glanced at Tongtong, who was staring longingly at the fried chicken, and thought for a moment:

"I guess they'll go back once Tongtong's results come out. They'll expedite the results three days later, since it's almost the end of the year."

Jiang Hui was silent for a moment, then said, "I'll wait for you at home. Give the phone to Tongtong, I'll chat with her for a while."

Mo Ye glanced down at Tongtong, who was wiping her drool with her chubby little hands, and handed her the phone: "Tongtong, who is it?"

Tongtong looked up: "Who is it? Are you interrupting my fried chicken?"

Mo Ye placed the phone in front of her: "It's your grandma on the phone."

Tongtong's eyes lit up instantly, and with a loud "Aww!" she quickly stretched out her chubby little hands: "Give it to me! Give it to me!"

Jiang Hui heard Tongtong's voice and shouted on the other end of the phone, "Hurry up! Don't you have any common sense?!"

Mo Ye reluctantly handed over his phone and then switched the call to a video call.

Jiang Hui's face appeared on the screen, her eyes narrowed into slits with laughter.

Mo Ye stood to the side, speechless.

He Wanqing walked over, picked up a piece of fried chicken, and held it to Mo Ye's lips: "Ah~"

Mo Ye looked at her, opened his mouth and took a bite.

He also picked up a French fry, dipped it in ketchup, and fed it to He Wanqing.

The two people stood facing each other, taking turns eating.

Tongtong was chatting happily with Jiang Hui when she suddenly heard a "crunch crunch" sound coming from next to her.
