Re:Zero -Starting Life in Zero

Chapter 72 Witch Cult

Green rolled his eyes, considered for a moment, and then nodded.

"Alright!"

He raised his hands towards the sky and silently recited: Giant's Crown.

A blinding flash of light stung everyone's eyes.

The light bloomed like flower petals, finally gathering in Green's hands into a bronze crown covered with tiny cracks.

As soon as the giant's crown appeared, the flow of magic throughout the room began to become disordered.

The spiderweb-like cracks gleamed with a dark golden light, and the ancient patterns seemed to faintly emanate the roar of a giant, causing the tea room windows to tremble slightly and the tea in the teacups on the table to ripple.

Emilia instinctively gripped Green's sleeve.

The great spirit Puck sensed the danger and condensed itself in mid-air.

"Lia, what happened!"

A faint blue light rose around him, and icy mist unconsciously lingered around his fingertips.

His pupils were fixed on the bronze crown in Green's hand, his tone full of vigilance.

"This power... it's actually the aura of the Origin Giant!"

Phyllis had just brought the food in from outside when she heard this. Her cat ears perked up suddenly, the plate in her hand trembled, and she let out a startled cry.

"The Origin Giant? That's a legendary being, meow!"

Even the giant bloodline within the legendary Sloth Witch Sekhmet is not even a fraction of the race's peak power.

Anastasia's smile deepened, her shrewd eyes filled with both surprise and delight.

"This is truly eye-opening, Mr. Green. You actually managed to bring out such an ancient relic."

"Just lucky." Grimm flipped his hand, putting the crown into the Dark Fairy Tale Book, and then looked at Crusch.

"What's your decision, Duke Karlsten? Let me make this clear beforehand: if you're not willing to form an alliance, I'll have to find other allies."

Upon hearing this, the first to panic was the swordsman Wilhelm, who quickly took a half-step forward.

"Lord Crusch..."

He saw in Greene the hope of defeating the white whale.

Crusch gave Wilhelm a reassuring look and smiled with relief.

She took a deep breath, slowly stood up, extended her right hand to Green, and spoke with utmost solemnity.

"Lord Green's strength is indispensable. The Karlsten family hereby swears an alliance with the Mezas family and the Hexin Merchant Guild to jointly combat the White Whale! In this battle, I will give it my all!"

Green gestured towards Emilia beside him with his chin and teased:

"Curly is really wicked. My man is right here. He's the center of our camp."

"I'm sorry, I didn't think it through."

Crusch nodded apologetically and turned his hand towards Emilia.

Emilia's cheeks flushed slightly. She hurriedly reached out and gently grasped his hand, her fingertips soft with a hint of helplessness. "N-no problem, I'll do my best to help everyone."

Parker hovered over her shoulder, his voice tinged with concern.

"Grin, the white whale is a witch's familiar, so it's inevitable that people from the witch's cult will be watching that place. I'm worried about letting Lia go there."

Crusch and Anastasia frowned in unison; they hadn't really thought of this.

Green's expression turned serious: "That's why I said the more allies the better. My instructions to Otto weren't just to invite Anna; he should have already gone to mobilize Priscilla."

If the wielder of the Yang Sword could also join in, the pressure would be much less.

However, Green didn't have high hopes for the arrogant Priscilla.

Anastasia shook her head helplessly and accepted the black tea and cookies offered by the cat-eared crossdresser.

"That woman won't agree. Not only that, she might even humiliate your friend and throw him out."

After all, Otto was just a businessman, so Priscilla naturally wouldn't take him seriously.

Crusch's thoughts were already focused on the Witch Cult behind the White Whale, and she spoke in a deep voice:

"Judging from Lord Grin's reaction, it seems you already knew about the appearance of the Witch Church. If you have any related intelligence, I hope you can be frank with us, as many battle plans need to be redeployed."

Green had prepared the relevant materials on his way to the capital, which totaled about ten pages.

After pushing it in front of the girls, Green picked up his teacup and took a sip to moisten his dry throat.

"It's all here. My handwriting on the dragon cart is a bit ugly, but please bear with it."

Crusch looked up and said seriously, "Before that, I hope Lord Grin can look me in the eye and guarantee the authenticity of this information."

Green's smile faded, and he solemnly replied, "Everything I wrote is true."

Crusch stared intently at Grin, repeatedly confirming his presence before closing her eyes with satisfaction. "He wasn't lying."

Anastasia asked curiously, "Crushi really trusts Grin-kun."

Phyllis tilted her little face up proudly.

"No, no, Lady Crusch has the blessing of 'Wind Vision,' and no one can lie to her without being detected."

"I see. It seems that Crusch is deeply loved by this world."

Anastasia smiled knowingly and casually pulled out a piece of intelligence to examine it carefully.

Crusch and Emilia each took a copy of the information and quickly became engrossed in the words on the pages.

An eerie silence fell over the room.

After a long while, Phyllis's terrified voice finally ended the silent drama.

"This is outrageous, meow! After killing the white whale, a total of three Archbishops of Sin appeared!"

"Don't panic, Phyllis. Since Lord Green has requested an alliance, he must have made the necessary preparations."

Crusch reassured her in a deep voice. On the page in her hand, the abilities of the three archbishops of the sins, Sloth, Gluttony, and Greed, were clearly recorded, along with the expected timing of their appearance.

Anastasia tapped her fingertips lightly on the edge of the table, drawing everyone's attention, and waved the paper in her hand:

"Grimm's battle plan and required supplies are all on this."

The paper outlines the beluga whale as a weakness and lists the items that need to be prepared:

A large wind magic item used to disperse the fog.

Giant chained siege crossbow bolts were used to restrict the movements of the beluga whale.

……

After looking at it for a while, Crusch pointed to the last line of the page, her brows furrowed slightly, her tone full of doubt.

"All the previous items were designed to target the weaknesses of the beluga whale, but I don't quite understand this last one."

"Lord Green, what do you need a symphony orchestra and bards for? These entertainment units have no fighting power whatsoever."

Green grinned, scratched the back of his head casually, and spoke in a relaxed tone.

"I use it as background music, but pure combat is too boring."

Crusch frowned, his expression growing increasingly serious. He quietly activated his Wind Vision buff, keeping a close eye on the aura surrounding Green. His tone was serious and contained not a trace of mockery.

"That's a lie. I don't believe that Lord Green would do something as absurd as listening to music while fighting."

His lie was exposed on the spot, and Green slumped back in his chair in frustration, letting out a soft sigh.

"Would you believe me if I said it was for dealing with the Witch Cult?"

Crusch's expression was extremely complicated, because Green's absurd words were actually true.

No matter how hard she racked her brains, she couldn't figure out what use this person who was just entertaining her could be.

He could only raise his hand to rub his temples, and a faint sense of self-doubt crept in.

"Many times I've wondered if my blessing was wrong, Lord Grin. Could you explain in detail?"
