Re:Zero -Starting Life in Zero

Chapter 95 Too gullible

Grimm was taken aback by Emilia's sudden concern.

Seeing Emilia clutching his wrist with her brows furrowed, he suddenly felt a deep sense of guilt.

He had just wanted to explain to Emilia what circumstances would cause a person's legs to tremble.

Elsa had been watching from the sidelines, finding it amusing that Grimm and Emilia were acting out a romantic comedy.

But now, the play is clearly stuck at an awkward point, with no progress for a long time.

Elsa couldn't wait any longer, and suddenly reached out, her slender fingers gently pushing Green's shoulder.

The force wasn't great, but it precisely struck Green's center of gravity.

"oops!"

The sudden force caught Green off guard, and he stumbled and crashed into a soft, fragrant place.

A faint floral scent lingered around her nose, a clean and refreshing fragrance unique to Emilia.

Emilia gasped, instinctively loosening her grip on his wrist and quickly reaching out to support his shoulder.

The moment their skin touched, a blush spread across the girl's cheeks, the pink color spreading all the way to her ears, even tinging her earlobes with a light crimson, making her look exceptionally beautiful.

"Are you... alright, Green?" Her voice was weak, trembling with a hint of panic.

"It's okay, it's okay, I feel fine."

Green gave a silly grin, looking rather embarrassed.

As expected, the airbags in a good car are different; the shock absorption effect is excellent.

He turned to look at Elsa.

"What's gotten into you all of a sudden? Why did you push me?"

Elsa raised the corner of her eye, a hint of amusement in her amethyst pupils, and her voice was light and airy.

"It's so boring to see you standing here like two puppets with their strings tangled up. I once saw a picture book called 'The Rogue Prince Falls in Love with the Little White Rabbit,' and the male and female protagonists in it were the first little life born on the dragon carriage."

Green grimaced in disgust. Did this pervert have some strange fetish, like watching live broadcasts?

"Huh~ You actually read such erotic books? I thought you were reading the Spring and Autumn Annals."

Elsa squinted, as if savoring the contents of the picture book.

"I didn't specifically look for it, it's just that one of my missions happened to target a bookstore owner who was secretly smuggling people."

She lightly tapped her chin with her fingertips, a blush rising to her face, and her breath came out warm air as she spoke.

"I flipped through a couple of pages at random. Although the plot was a bit cliché, the details of the dragon carriage swaying were drawn quite realistically."

"If it's just realistic, then it doesn't count as a masterpiece."

Green nodded seriously and solemnly expressed his opinion, as if he were some kind of connoisseur.

Emilia blinked her clear eyes blankly, looking at the solemn-faced Grin, and then at Elsa, whose face was flushed.

Her slender fingers unconsciously twisted the hem of her skirt, her brows furrowing slightly.

"Procreation... a new life? Did they... kiss?"

Emilia repeated the words softly, her voice full of confusion.

Just then, a warm white light suddenly shone on Emilia's shoulder, and a fluffy little head peeked out—it was Puck.

He put his little paws on his hips, his furry face full of exasperation, and protested loudly, "You two, you're not allowed to teach Leah any weird things!"

"You're still here, Parker? I thought you'd deserted at the last minute."

Green feigned surprise, widening his eyes as if he had seen something unbelievable.

Parker angrily jumped onto Green's head and smacked him repeatedly on the head: "I can't believe Green doesn't trust me. It hurts me so much."

"Actually, it doesn't matter whether you come out or not. The battle will probably start tonight, by which time you'll have already finished get off work."

Green complained, knowing that Parker's true form was always guarding the Frozen Forest, and that his current cat-like body was just an illusion.

Because if Emilia were to descend directly in her true form, her magic power would be insufficient.

Emilia's magic supply can barely sustain the existence of her clones only between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. without placing an excessive burden on herself.

Parker's little paws suddenly stopped, the force of the tap on Green's head lessened considerably, and a heavy seriousness filled his light green eyes.

"Grin, you must protect Leah while I'm gone."

"Are you trying to disappear by saying something like that?"

Green asked warily, raising his hand to pull Parker down from above and pressing down on his paws.

Parker gave a sheepish, goofy laugh.

"Hehe, how could that be? Protecting Lia is the only reason I exist. I just want Grin to take over my shift with me."

Green stared into Parker's bright green eyes and poked his soft belly lightly with his finger.

"If I don't see you by tomorrow morning, I'll take Lia to the neighboring country of Kararaki."

Parker twisted his supple body, squeezed out from between Green's fingers, and nimbly flew back to the top of Emilia's head.

"That's really scary, but as long as my daughter can live happily, it doesn't really matter where she is."

Emilia quickly reached out and grabbed Grin's sleeve, her clear eyes filled with genuine annoyance, and said with puffed cheeks:

"I won't be so easily lured away by anyone! Green, do you think I'm an idiot?"

Green shook his head meaningfully.

He was too lazy to argue; it was better to let the facts speak for themselves.

Green then closed his eyes, and when he opened them again, he had already prepared just the right amount of emotion in his eyes.

The smile faded from his face, replaced by deep sincerity, and his eyes even glistened with tears.

Green gently gripped Emilia's wrist, his lips trembling slightly.

"But Lia, the curse I suffered last time wasn't completely removed. Only Kalaragi can buy medicine specifically for treating the aftereffects of the curse. After this expedition is over, could you come with me?"

"Oh, is that so?"

Emilia's voice instantly rose a few decibels, her clear eyes filled with deep worry, and her fingers gripping his sleeve tightened unconsciously.

"Green, are you alright? Have you had Beatrice check you up?"

Before she finished speaking, the magic crystal necklace around Green's neck suddenly lit up with a soft purple light, and delicate magical patterns flowed across the surface of the crystal.

Before Green could react, a petite figure, enveloped in a faint magical mist, materialized in front of him and fell straight into his arms.

Beatrice gathered her skirt, frowning in displeasure, her golden hair brushing against Green's collarbone, leaving a slightly cool touch.

"Idiot, don't move."

She raised her hand and placed it on Green's forehead. Her cool fingertips carried a faint magical aura, which slowly spread from his forehead to his entire body.

A moment later, she withdrew her hand, and the halo of light at her fingertips quietly dissipated.

There was no lingering aura of curse, no sign of chaotic magic, and even the minor scratches left from the previous fight had long since disappeared.

Beatrice's tense shoulders relaxed almost imperceptibly for a moment, her fingers hanging at her sides curled up slightly, but she quickly returned to her usual indifferent demeanor.

She raised her chin and clicked her tongue impatiently: "Hmph, what curse? Brother, your daughter is beyond saving."
