Iron Ridge City.

There are six towering fortresses with spires surrounding the military zone.

This place serves as both the barracks for various combat companies and the six core hubs of the city's energy shield.

When all the magic arrays are activated, a semi-transparent energy dome will cover the entire city, which can withstand the heavy weapon attacks of the mechanical spirit race.

The top floor of the spire fortress, located due north, is the operations room of Valerian, the warband commander of Ironridge.

The operations room was spacious and open, with a thick carpet with dark gold patterns on the floor, creating a solemn and dignified atmosphere.

A black battle flag of the Iron Ridge Battle Group hangs high on the wall, and in the armory display case, spoils of war and medals left by the battle leaders of the battle group throughout the ages are neatly arranged.

In the center of the operations room was a huge holographic tactical sand table emitting a ghostly blue light.

At this moment, two tall figures stood on either side of the sand table, the atmosphere heavy and solemn.

Standing on the left was a tall, robust middle-aged man with dark bronze skin, short black hair, and a wild and violent look between his brows.

The burly man was none other than Valerian, the captain of the Ironspine City Star Shield Army.

Standing opposite him was a tall, slender young man with a cool gray complexion and long silver-gray hair; he was none other than the captain of the mecha squad—Reno.

Valerian stared at the Starshine City coordinates on the sand table, now a glaring red, and asked in a hoarse voice, "Have you found Carter and Lorena?"

Renault sighed. "They're all dead."

"This time, the Mechanical Eldar didn't probe. They directly deployed three full-strength assault fleets. Based on the information we have so far, at least ten Lord-level beings have participated."

"Starshine City's energy shield didn't even last ten minutes before it overloaded and collapsed."

"By the time we arrived, the entire city had already fallen. According to current statistics, fewer than 1 people survived..."

"Thirty million people... and only this many remain..." Valerian's eyes were bloodshot as he said in a deep voice, "Have you found out why the spatial teleportation array is malfunctioning?"

Renault shook his head and said, "According to the surviving soldiers, the teleportation array suddenly failed, and the mechanical Eldar ships appeared in less than five minutes."

"My guess is... there's a traitor within Starshine City. There are no more than ten people in the entire city capable of doing that!"

Upon hearing this, Valerian was extremely puzzled and furious.

Why would someone of this caliber become a lackey of the Mechanical Eldar?!

"Knock knock knock..."

Just then, there was a knock on the door.

Valerian suppressed his violent emotions and said in a deep voice, "Come in!"

The gate opened, and Company Commander Mark strode in, his military boots gleaming.

He keenly sensed the oppressive atmosphere in the room, but still respectfully gave a military salute:

"Chapter Commander! Captain Renault! As per your orders, the first batch of player rosters has been compiled!"

Valerian rubbed his temples and took a tablet from the other end. "Among this group, are there any particularly outstanding talents?"

Company Commander Mark didn't speak, but instead swiped on the tablet and said, "Commander, take a look at this."

Valerian glanced down at it.

"Lin Hui, Tier 6, Tier 8 vehicle..."

However, when his gaze continued downwards and landed on the line of battle records marked in red, his pupils suddenly contracted.

[Battle Summary: Outside the Dragon Tavern, using only his physical body, he defeated the Horn Family Knight Mech (Cassius).]

"Um?!"

"To actually kill a knight mech! That physical body is incredibly strong!!"

Renault, who was standing nearby, also came over in surprise upon hearing this.

When he saw the photo in the file, a look of realization flashed in his silver-gray eyes.

"So it was him."

"You've seen it before?" Valerian asked.

"I encountered him at the evacuation point a few hours ago," Renault praised. "Good skills, exceptional courage! A promising talent!"

"What a pity." Valerian sighed as he looked at the last line of the file: "[Signed independent employment agreement, refused to enlist]".

"He actually chose the mercenary mode! If he were willing to officially wear the Star Shield uniform, I'd risk everything to get him a Dreadnought Mech!"

"With his strength, coupled with the neural communication system of the Dreadnought Mech, his combat power would definitely rival that of a company commander! At that point, even if he encountered a mechanical Eldar lord head-on on the battlefield, he could escape unscathed!"

Company Commander Mark smiled wryly, "Commander, I've already talked myself hoarse trying to keep him in the Iron Ridge City defenses."

"Fine, as long as the guns are pointed at the Eldar," Valerian said. "The reconnaissance unit reports that a large number of players will flood into Ironspine City in the next couple of days."

"Mark, you personally oversee the coordination! We must recruit all these players to our side!"

"Yes!" Mark accepted the order.

At the same time.

Upper District, City Lord's Mansion.

As soon as Orlando Horn returned to the city lord's mansion, he summoned the Grand Master of the Hall Knights.

He glared at the tall man ahead and gritted his teeth, saying, "Commander Isol! You must find a way to capture that brat named Lin Hui alive!"

"I'll tie him to the stake and scrape his flesh off piece by piece! I'll let him know what happens when you offend me!"

The tall man calmly said, "Don't worry, it's Master Oran."

"As long as that kid leaves Ironspine City for some mission... I'll personally bring him to you to atone for his sins!"

Hearing this, Orlando's anger subsided somewhat. "Good! With Uncle Isol in charge, that kid won't escape!"

Isol is the Grand Master of the Knights of Hall, a high-level psionicist, and one of the four top combat forces in Ironspine City.

If he makes a move, wouldn't a mere player be easily captured?

With this in mind, Orlando turned to the man in black beside him and said in a deep voice, "Rogge, your next task is to keep a close eye on that kid! Report to me immediately if he takes even half a step outside the city gate!"

"Also, dig up all the details about the men and women he's hanging out with! None of them will live!"

Roger replied respectfully, "Yes!"
