At the wide metal conference table, City Lord Elena of Star Shield City and War Marshal Leonard sat facing each other.

Directly in front of them, three holographic projections were flickering slightly.

"They are followers of the Cult of Mechanics," Judge Alexander, the chief judge on the far right projection screen, said in a deep voice. "We shut down several underground printing sites, but we only caught some low-level members who had been brainwashed."

A few days ago, after Valerian escorted Bishop Dominic of Ironspine City to Starshield City, the High Council learned for the first time about the deeply entrenched and malignant organization, the Mechanicus.

"It's the Mechanicus again..." Otto gritted his teeth and said coldly, "Those rats in the gutter! Spreading such rumors at a time like this is simply trying to undermine us from within!"
