As a relatively conservative, Yin Chen does not support simply leaving on a whim.

An Changqing stood beside Su Yuehe, his hands holding the cup of warm water with distinct knuckles. He looked at Su Yuehe's pale yet stubborn face and sighed.

He realized that all these people wanted to go; the only difference was which day to go.

"I have to go with them." An Changqing's tone left no room for discussion. Although these people were all exceptionally strong, he was still worried about them not going with him.

"Let's go together then."

Su Yuehe glanced at him and knew what he was thinking.

If An Changqing isn't allowed to come along, it will be her mother who shows up here later.

If this weren't the northern border, Su Yuehe would probably have chosen to hire powerful bodyguards directly.

Unfortunately, this is the North, the territory under the Wall's jurisdiction, and most reputable bodyguards are on the North's blacklist.

These classmates are her current support.

Anyway, all she needs is knowledge, so there won't be any conflict between them.

Moreover, these people are either rich or don't care about money, so there's no need to worry about them fighting over unequal distribution of profits.

In some ways, they are more reliable than people outside.

Yin Chen tapped his short cane on the table: "We need a scout with extremely strong perception. Blindly rushing into the snowstorm is no different from suicide."

The dormitory was quiet for a moment, and everyone's eyes were on Chen Guan, who remained silent.

The reconnaissance position is best left to him.

The sunlight outside shone on Chen Guan's profile, and he exuded an air of indifference.

The enormous black panther was lying at his feet, dozing with its eyes closed, its tail occasionally swishing across the wooden floor.

"Isn't this a ready-made one?" Hong Yuan pointed in Chen Guan's direction, her voice rising again, "Chen Guan, why don't you come with us this time?"

Chen Guan turned his gaze from the window to Hong Yuan.

"it is good."

The word "Chen Guan" fell in the quiet dormitory, as if bringing a peaceful end to this debate.

Hongyuan slapped her thigh happily, her voice booming again: "That's right! With you here, nothing in the surrounding area can escape our notice. With our setup, we can just push through."

Yin Chen nodded slightly; he knew Chen Guan wouldn't miss it.

Yin Chen let out another smug hum.

He then said, "Now that the reconnaissance positions are filled, the framework of this temporary scientific expedition team is complete. However, I suggest everyone keep a low profile until Su's approval documents are officially issued."

An Changqing sighed, glanced at Hong Yuan who was munching on an apple, and cautioned, "Hong Yuan, you must not go around saying anything. If you attract the attention of the academy instructors, even if you have the authority to conduct scientific research, it will cause a lot of unnecessary trouble."

"I know, I know, I'm very tight-lipped," Hongyuan assured, patting her chest.

Yin Chen looked at An Changqing with approval. Sure enough, he realized, just like himself, who was the unreliable person.

Chen Guan stood by the window, watching the barrage of comments scrolling across his retina.

[Haha, what does it mean to only instruct Hong Yuan? Even Long Ao has never received such special treatment.]

[Don't be fooled by the negative review, Brother Ao.]

[Ao Ge was kicked as he walked by.]

Chen Guan turned off the barrage of comments persecuting the two red-haired men and reached out to rub Black Panther's neck.

How could he possibly miss that altar that might be related to the Black Wind Civilization?

……

Three days passed in the blink of an eye.

A cold wind was blowing, and on the academy's aircraft parking area, a medium-sized military transport plane painted entirely in silver-gray sat quietly in the middle of the runway.

The aircraft bears the prominent emblem of the Special Scientific Expedition Department of the Human Council.

Hongyuan, carrying an axe even more exaggerated than herself, swaggered ahead at the front.

A faint icy blue halo flowed across the axe blade, a spiritual energy characteristic left behind after Yin Chen reshaped it using the Cold Extraction Method.

"This plane looks really impressive."

Hong Yuan patted the sturdy metal landing gear and turned to look at Su Yuehe walking behind her: "Little Fu, your connections are really strong. You can even get a military aircraft with spiritual energy armor to be used as a charter plane."

Su Yuehe explained softly, "The airflow at the edge of the northern border is very turbulent, making it difficult for ordinary civilian aircraft to land safely there. This aircraft is a modified version retired from the Great Wall defense line, with a better power system and cold-weather resistance."

"...Damn it, what would happen if there were one more rich person like me in the world?"

Hong Yuan looked resentful.

Yin Chen led the husky up the gangway, his pure white trench coat fluttering slightly in the wind. No matter what, he had to look cool.

"Hurry up and let's go, Xiao Hong."

"Yin Chen, are you asking for trouble again?" Hong Yuan glared and waved her empty fist. "Believe it or not, I'll use you as a sacrifice first!"

Chen Guan walked at the very back, with Black Panther following beside him with elegant steps.

When facing Yin Chen's husky, it was no longer as timid as before. It was clear that the leopard was relying on its master's power, and the whole leopard was extremely arrogant.

Chen Guan entered the cabin and found a window seat to sit down.

The cabin is spacious, and the seats are made of specially designed shock-absorbing material.

He looked out at the sky through the thick porthole, gazing at his destination.

According to the incomplete coordinates provided by Su Yuehe, the destination is the extremely cold wilderness north of the Great Wall defense line.

Dry Source Stone, Black Wind Civilization, Ancient Altar, Ash Energy...

Will we get an answer?

The cabin door closed slowly, and the engine emitted a deep and steady roar.

The transport plane accelerated on the runway, soared into the sky, and flew toward the northern horizon.

After the flight stabilized, Su Yuehe unbuckled her seatbelt and handed several tactical tablets to everyone.

"This is a preliminary topographic map of the area near the coordinates."

Su Yuehe pointed to the red marker on the screen and said.

"Because it is an unexplored area, the survey map only provides a reference for the outer terrain. This area is covered by blizzards all year round, and the visibility is extremely low."

"According to data from the edge monitoring stations set up by the military there, the magnetic field in that area is extremely chaotic, and all conventional electronic communication devices will completely fail once they enter the range."

"A chaotic magnetic field means that the spiritual energy radar will also be severely interfered with. Chen Guan, once we get there, your senses will be the most important eyes for our team."

Chen Guan turned his gaze from the window to the survey map: "As long as it's not a large group of monsters beyond my perception limits, planning a route in advance to avoid them shouldn't be a problem."

"But if the altar itself has the function of shielding perception, then we can only get closer and see what happens."

"It's alright. If we encounter any trouble blocking our way, we'll just chop a path through it with an axe."

Hongyuan pulled out a compressed biscuit from her tactical backpack and started munching on it: "I'm going crazy from being cooped up in the academy. Those boring training sessions aren't even enough to warm me up. Why should I have to accommodate the pace of those newbies?"

An Changqing felt ashamed. If the arrangements were made according to your level, then the other students might as well be sent back.
