"what!"

The Yenching Academy student next to Wang Shuo only had time to let out a short scream before he was lifted off the ground.

Qin Wu, who was beside him, reacted very quickly, taking a step forward and grabbing his protective suit with all his might.

"Grab me!"

Qin Wu gritted his teeth and plowed two deep furrows in the frozen ground with his feet, but the combined weight of the two of them was still slowly dragged into the vortex by that force.

"No!"

Long Ao let out a low roar, a flash of red light appeared on his body, his arm muscles bulged, and he plunged his hands into the hard frozen ground, barely managing to steady himself.

"Yuehe!"

An Changqing turned around, grabbed Su Yuehe who was being pulled and staggered by the suction, and the long sword in his other hand hummed.

He shielded Su Yuehe behind him and shouted to the crowd.

"Get behind me, quick!"

The team members struggled to get closer to him.

An Changqing took a half step back with his left foot, and the radiance of the longsword in his hand surged.

"Time flies!"

He held his longsword horizontally in front of him, the blade drawing a mysterious arc. An invisible repulsive force field emanated from the tip of the sword, forcefully resisting the suction of the vortex.

At the point where the two forces met, the air crackled and sparks flew out.

The vortex's suction force was forcibly deflected at an angle, and Qin Wu and the student's bodies were flung to the side, temporarily escaping the danger of being directly swallowed up.

But An Changqing's face turned pale, and fine beads of sweat appeared on his forehead.

This is just a stopgap measure.

"Hehehe, you fool. Trying to fight against the rules of spacetime with brute force is no different from a mantis trying to stop a chariot."

Baal's voice echoed in Chen Guan's mind.

"This is something that Astaroth created. Although twenty years have passed, the essence of its power hasn't changed."

Chen Guan ignored him.

"How do we solve this?"

"Use your power to devour it; since they are of the same origin, it will be easy."

Baal didn't take it seriously; the wise and mighty Lord Baal had long anticipated this.

Although Chen Guan is not a follower of Astaroth, he has Lord Baal behind him. What's wrong with asking the little brother for a little bit of authority?

Chen Guan raised his left hand, the black mark on his palm slightly warm.

He took a step forward and stood next to An Changqing.

A completely different force surged from his palm, and instead of resisting it, he actively met the suction of the vortex.

The originally violent suction force subsided instantly upon contact with this power.

An Changqing felt the pressure suddenly lessen and turned to look at Chen Guan beside him.

The raging vortex shrank at a visible speed, eventually stabilizing into a circular entrance with an edge flowing with a faint blue light, just large enough for one person to pass through.

An eerie silence returned to the surroundings.

"this……"

Wang Shuo looked at the calm entrance before him, then at the coffin, and was so shocked that he couldn't utter a single word.

Are you kidding me?! What kind of monster is this?!

"The entry point is now stable."

Chen Guan withdrew his hand, and that piercing, bone-deep feeling surged up again; his arm seemed to have worsened once more.

He withdrew his arm, using his sleeve to conceal the unusual movement.

An Changqing stared at him for a few seconds, then simply nodded without asking anything.

The group carefully made their way through the entrance.

There was no dizzying feeling of time travel; just one step away, the scene before my eyes completely changed.

This is an abandoned camp.

Several simple canvas tents were leaning precariously to one side, a detector that had been turned off was covered with solidified dust, and there was a half-finished cup of coffee on the table, the liquid inside having turned into an amber-colored solid.

Everything in the world remains frozen in a moment from twenty years ago, like a dusty specimen.

"Is time... frozen here?"

Li Yuqing reached out, wanting to touch the cup of coffee, but her fingertips passed right through it.

"No, this is a relic solidified by the laws of spacetime."

The coffin opened.

"Everything we see is just a shadow of the past."

Su Yuehe did not listen to their conversation.

Her gaze swept across every corner of the camp, finally settling on a metal cabinet that had been overturned.

There was something wrapped tightly in a waterproof cloth lying there.

She walked over, squatted down, and carefully pulled it out.

It was a black hardcover diary.

On the cover, two words were engraved with a sharp object.

Lu Ming.

Su Yuehe's fingers traced the two words, and a slight tremor ran through her fingertips.

She opened her diary.

On the yellowed pages, there are bold and powerful handwriting.

The first page of the diary contained only a few words.

"I found it."

"The power of words is both a miracle and the most vicious curse. I must find a way to separate myself from it before it completely devours its host."

Su Yuehe's breath caught in her throat for a moment.

She continued scrolling down.

Page 2.

"My daughter, Yuehe, has been diagnosed as an ordinary person with no special abilities. Su Jin's sanity disgusts me; she actually wants to accept this result and even wants to send our daughter away. She's truly insane."

"I don't accept it! I don't accept it! She doesn't understand, how could beings like us possibly give birth to an ordinary person? This is a flaw, a mistake that must be corrected."

Su Yuehe's face turned pale without her noticing.

She turned to the next page, which contained only a crazy plan.

"Extract the power of words and fuse it with Yuehe's genes. She will gain divine power and become the most perfect creation, the first artificially created superhuman."

"From this day forward, everyone can ascend to godhood and become their own savior!"

The diary slipped from her hands and fell to the ground.

"How could this be...?"

She muttered to herself, her body swaying slightly, before being supported by An Changqing behind her.

"Yuehe?"

An Changqing didn't notice the words at first glance, assuming it was for some other reason.

Chen Guan picked up the diary from the ground and continued to read it.

One of the pages mentioned a name.

"The experiment is not going well. The rejection reaction is exceeding my expectations, and Yuehe's spiritual energy is being endlessly depleted. Perhaps I should go and find Astaroth's chosen ones; they understand the mysteries of the soul."

The diary ends here; the following pages have all been torn out.

In the back cover of the diary, Chen Guan found a slightly yellowed old photograph.

He handed the photo to Su Yuehe.

The photo shows a baby in swaddling clothes, facing the camera with an innocent smile.

That was shortly after she was born.

In the photo, the baby in swaddling clothes is grinning, his smile pure and without a trace of impurity.

Su Yuehe's fingertips stopped at the edge of the photo. Her own face looked so unfamiliar, like someone else's.

Her hands were shaking.

"Yuehe, what's wrong?" An Changqing held her shoulders, his voice filled with concern.

He followed her gaze and saw only an open diary and that old photograph.

Su Yuehe did not respond, but stared at the photo.

Then she smiled.
