"Young Master Gu, have you witnessed the power of high-dimensional technology? This is what you call invincible."

The last syllables of "invincible" hadn't even finished fading from the private room.

"boom--!"

A deafening bang that could shatter eardrums.

The three-inch-thick security door, which was said to be able to withstand C4 explosives, had its expansion bolts, along with the door frame, pulled out from the outside.

The iron gate, weighing over 200 kilograms, flew in sideways like a piece of cardboard.

It crashed onto the chipped billiard table in the middle of the room. The metal leg broke off at the base. Alien parts scattered all over the floor with a clatter.

Cement dust mixed with brick fragments rained down from the sky.

The air was filled with the smell of dust kicked up by the violence, making people's throats dry.

Young Master Gu reacted extremely quickly.

He scrambled under the broken sofa, clutching his head tightly with both hands, his backside sticking out as he trembled. His pink haute couture suit was completely ruined.

"Police! Don't move!"

Accompanied by several blinding tactical flashlights, a team of fully armed SWAT officers, wearing tactical boots, filed in, stepping over scrap metal and bricks scattered on the ground.

The dark muzzle of the gun instantly locked onto everyone in the private room.

Scarface didn't even have time to reach for the folding knife at his waist before two SWAT officers pinned him to the dusty floor tiles, their necks pressed down.

Lu Jingyan walked last.

He wasn't wearing that heavy bulletproof vest. He was only wearing a black tactical vest and a pair of durable work pants.

The leather shoes crunched crisply as they stepped over the scattered red and blue electrical wires on the ground.

The cigar that Jin Ge had just been holding in his mouth had now fallen onto his crotch.

He was jolted awake when he saw the burn hole. He frantically shoved the cigarette butt to the ground and haphazardly stubbed it out with the sole of his shoe.

He stared at the SWAT officers who were closing in, his Adam's apple bobbing twice. The muscles in his face twitched violently from extreme tension.

But when he looked down and saw the energy deflection shield in his hand, emitting a ghostly blue light, he was stunned.

That confidence that was on the verge of collapse suddenly returned.

"A cop, right?"

Jin took half a step back, his back pressed against the wall. He held the broken iron plate wrapped with electrical tape in front of his chest with both hands.

The blue light screen instantly enlarged, covering most of him.

He looked at the Type 95 submachine gun in the SWAT officer's hand. He grinned, revealing a set of yellow teeth.

"Come on! Fire!"

Brother Jin raised his voice, his tone carrying the madness of a desperate criminal. Spittle flew onto the blue light screen, only to bounce off.

"What I'm holding is a defense module from an alien warship! Your firewood sticks and copper peanuts can't even scratch my protective shield!"

He got more and more excited as he spoke, and even took a step forward.

"Nobody's going to catch me today! We'd rather die in this cave together!"

Young Master Gu poked half his head out from under the sofa.

He spat out a mouthful of ash. Looking at Brother Jin's arrogant demeanor, he cursed inwardly.

This idiot. Does he really think the Earth Police are just sitting around doing nothing?

He quickly shouted in Lu Jingyan's direction, "Sir! I'm a law-abiding citizen! The bug on my body is still working, I've done a great service!"

Lu Jingyan ignored Gu Shao in the corner.

He stood about three meters away from Brother Jin, his posture ramrod straight.

My gaze passed over the SWAT officer's shoulder and landed on the shield that emitted a blue light.

"Energy deflection shield. It uses high-frequency magnetic fields to distort the trajectory of kinetic energy weapons."

Lu Jingyan's voice was steady, without the slightest inflection. It was as if he were conducting a physical analysis in a university physics class.

"Outdated alien soldier equipment. It's actually quite effective in a vacuum environment."

He raised his hand.

He didn't even touch the pistol on his inner thigh. Instead, his fingers deftly reached into the left pocket of his tactical vest.

"But you've forgotten. This is Earth."

Lu Jingyan looked at him. "There's an atmosphere, there's gravity, and there's also the conductive medium of air."

Two slender fingers pinched out a dark metal cylinder.

The surface is coated with matte paint, and there is a blue indicator light ring in the middle that is flashing.

This is an EMP (electromagnetic pulse) grenade that Su Xiaoxiao just modified yesterday. It's specifically designed to deal with these electronic junk items circulating on the black market.

Jin Ge stared at the unassuming little black jar for a moment, then paused.

"Who are you trying to scare with that piece of junk? This shield of mine can even block lasers!" He stiffened his neck and gripped the edge of the shield tightly.

Lu Jingyan didn't waste any more words.

Thumb flicks open the safety ring. Index finger hooks it, and the ring snaps open with a "ding".

He pressed his wrist down.

The grenade flew from my hand and rolled across the dusty, sharded concrete ground.

The speed was not fast. The metal casing struck the floor tiles, making a continuous, crisp sound.

The grenade finally came to a steady stop at Jin Ge's feet, less than ten centimeters from the blue light barrier.

"Close your eyes."

Lu Jingyan spoke, then turned his head and closed his eyes.

The surrounding special police officers were highly trained. In an instant, they all turned around and lowered their heads.

Jin Ge hadn't reacted yet. He lowered his head, staring intently at the black can with the flashing red light at his feet.

"What is this game...?"

He hadn't finished speaking.

"Buzz—"

There was no deafening explosion. Only a sharp, high-frequency sound wave pierced the eardrums instantly.

Immediately afterwards, a burst of intense, pure white light, so bright it caused temporary blindness, erupted in the corner of the private room.

The bright light pierced through my eyelids.

Accompanying the white light was an invisible, violent torrent of electromagnetic pulses.

"Sizzle sizzle!"

Suddenly, the old power lines hanging from the ceiling of the private room burst into large bursts of blue sparks. The light bulbs all shattered with a snap.

The deflector shield in Brother Jin's hand, which is said to be invincible.

Within a fraction of a second of contact with the pulsating torrent, the grayish-brown crystal inside emitted a mournful cry of unbearable strain.

The pale blue light curtain flickered violently twice, like a popped soap bubble.

Then, with a "bang," it exploded into a cloud of black smoke.

The high temperature instantly melted the outer layer of insulating tape.

The pungent smell of burning plastic, mixed with the acrid smell of ozone produced by air ionization, quickly spread.

"Hot! Hot! Hot!"

Jin Ge let out a scream. The broken iron plate in his hand was as hot as a freshly baked charcoal.

He loosened his grip. The shield slammed into the instep, burning him so badly he jumped up and down.

When he finally managed to open his eyes a crack, rubbing them that were blinded and tearing from the white light.

The tactical flashlights of the SWAT team have been turned on again inside the room.

His prized trump card, that alien high technology, is now nothing more than a piece of scrap metal emitting black smoke and a pungent stench.

It lay quietly in the dirty ditch.

Jin Ge's legs went weak.

With a thud, his knees slammed onto the concrete. His kneecaps throbbed painfully, but he couldn't even utter a sound.

His arrogant demeanor was completely extinguished. All that remained was the uncontrollable sound of his teeth chattering.

Lu Jingyan turned around.

He started walking. His leather shoes crunched over the bricks and broken glass on the ground.

Finally, he stepped onto the still-smoking wreckage of the shield.

"Crack." The remaining crystal was completely crushed by the sole of the shoe, making a faint cracking sound.

The tip of the shoe stopped right in front of Jin Ge's face. Less than half a meter away.

Lu Jingyan stepped over the smoldering shield wreckage on the ground, his leather shoes stopping in front of the leader's face: "Technology is not your shield for resisting arrest. Hands behind your head, get down."
