Chapter 446 Ma Ling: No...not here.
Ma Tianhao is Ma Ling's older brother, making him the eldest son of the Ma family, one of the four major families in New Zealand and Australia.
He Mingjing is also the eldest daughter of one of the four major families in New Zealand and Australia...
Ma Ling and He Mingjing are mortal enemies. Ma Tianhao likes He Mingjing, but He Mingjing... seems to have no interest in anyone.
interesting....
Lin Yaodong thought.
The feuds and entanglements within wealthy families are more captivating than any TV drama.
Wait... the He family... He Mingyue... Ah, no wonder her features seemed familiar... He Mingjing... He Mingyue... they're sisters...
He looked at He Mingjing.
Under the moonlight, the woman stood straight, like a plum blossom in the snow, aloof, proud, and unapproachable.
Her beauty is the opposite of her sister He Mingyue's—He Mingyue is fire, fiery, flamboyant, burning everything; He Mingjing is ice, cold, tranquil, freezing everything.
A world of extremes...
Lin Yaodong turned his gaze to the man in the white suit.
He was standing between two women, trying to separate them, his face showing helplessness, anger, and a deep-seated weariness.
Every time Ma Ling met He Mingjing, they would clash.
Ma Tianhao remembers that when they were children, Ma Ling and He Mingjing were very close.
When did things start to change...? Oh right, it was when they were in junior high school, they both fell for a blond, blue-eyed foreigner...
I wouldn't say I like him, I'm just curious about the foreigner's unusual appearance...
The memory flashed through Ma Tianhao's mind, and the corner of his mouth twitched uncontrollably.
Later, they even got into a physical fight. The foreigner tried to break it up, but... Ma Ling and He Mingjing suddenly turned their guns on the foreigner and beat him up...
His face was scratched raw...
I need to separate these two quickly... Ma Tianhao thought with a headache as he looked at the tense scene before him.
Otherwise, a real fight might break out.
Although they might restrain themselves in public to protect their family's reputation, it's late at night, and there are only a handful of people on the mountaintop...
"Miss He," Ma Tianhao took a deep breath, turned to He Mingjing, and tried to keep his tone calm, "it's getting late, let's go back."
He Mingjing glanced at him, said nothing, and turned to leave.
Clean and efficient, without any hesitation or fuss.
Ma Tianhao paused for a moment, then quickly followed.
After taking a few steps, he looked back at Ma Ling, opened his mouth as if to say something, but in the end he just sighed and turned to chase after He Mingjing's back.
Ma Ling watched the two leave, and especially saw He Mingjing take the initiative to "avoid" them, and smiled happily.
She called out to their retreating figures, "Brother, be careful! Don't let that old woman take advantage of you!"
Ma Tianhao paused, not turning around, but his voice came, weary: "It's late, you should go home now that you've had enough fun."
Then his figure disappeared around the corner of the stairs.
The mountaintop fell silent again.
The couples had left sometime earlier, leaving only Lin Yaodong and Ma Ling on the platform, along with the silent statue of Mazu under the moonlight.
The wind seemed to pick up, making Ma Ling's long hair fly wildly in the wind.
She stood there, watching the direction where Ma Tianhao and He Mingjing had disappeared. The smile on her face slowly faded, finally turning into a complex expression that Lin Yaodong couldn't decipher.
Lin Yaodong was also looking in that direction.
"What are you looking at?"
Ma Ling suddenly turned her head and asked in a very soft voice.
Lin Yaodong responded immediately.
He was indeed looking—looking in the direction He Mingjing had left.
The woman had a very upright posture, walking with her back straight and her steps unhurried. Even on such a dimly lit mountaintop, even while wearing high heels, she remained as steady as if she were walking on a red carpet.
"Are you looking at He Mingjing?"
Ma Ling turned her head and stared at Lin Yaodong's profile.
Her voice turned cold, carrying obvious displeasure.
Lin Yaodong looked away and turned to look at her.
Under the moonlight, Ma Ling's face was half in light and half in shadow, her eyes shining brightly, churning with some kind of emotion—was it anger, jealousy, or something else?
Lin Yaodong is a prime example of someone who can navigate a field of women without getting entangled, so he can easily resolve this kind of problem.
But suddenly he didn't want to use those routines, those sweet words, those perfunctory answers.
He wanted something different.
So he nodded and said quite frankly, "Yeah, I don't think you like her. Who is she? So arrogant..."
Hearing Lin Yaodong's straightforward admission, Ma Ling was taken aback.
She expected the response to be sweet words like "Of course you're pretty," "Why would I look at her?" or "You're the only one in my heart."
But Lin Yaodong didn't. He admitted it directly and even added a comment: "Arrogant."
This actually eased some of her unhappiness.
"Of course she's arrogant," Ma Ling curled her lips, her tone full of undisguised sarcasm. "The eldest sister of the He family, she's thirty years old and has never been in a relationship. Her standards are so high that she thinks everyone else is trash."
She paused, then suddenly leaned closer to Lin Yaodong, staring into his eyes, and asked, "Do you think she's prettier or I am?"
This is a classic question, one that almost every woman asks and every man is asked.
If a second person were to answer, they would undoubtedly say: Of course, you're prettier.
But Lin Yaodong did not answer.
He reached out, cupped the back of Ma Ling's head, and leaned down to kiss her.
The kiss came suddenly, intensely, and irresistibly.
Caught off guard, Ma Ling only had time to let out a short sob before Lin Yaodong completely took over her.
Ma Ling struggled at first, but was quickly overwhelmed by the kiss.
She reached out and wrapped her arms around Lin Yaodong's neck, stood on tiptoe, and responded enthusiastically.
All the unpleasantness, the confrontation, and the complex emotions from before seemed to melt away in this kiss.
But just a few seconds later, Ma Ling suddenly jolted awake.
She pressed down on Lin Yaodong's hand, which had somehow already covered her buttocks, preventing him from taking any further action.
She pushed Lin Yaodong away forcefully, turned her face away, and gasped, "No...not here."
A blush rose on her cheeks, which was particularly noticeable in the moonlight.
"Get back in the car," she said, her voice breathless but firm.
"If we were going to stay in the car, why would I carry you up the mountain?" Lin Yaodong thought to himself.
But he didn't say it aloud. He just turned his head and looked at the entrance to a small grove of trees not far away. The trees were so dense that the moonlight could hardly penetrate, making it an excellent hiding place.
He grabbed Ma Ling's hand and walked over there without saying a word.
"Aren't we going back to the car...?" Ma Ling was pulled along by him, her steps faltering.
Lin Yaodong didn't say anything, but walked very fast, pulling Ma Ling so fast that she could hardly keep up.
She was wearing high heels, and she stumbled as she walked on the cobblestone path. Suddenly, she slipped and fell.
"ah!"
She gasped and fell forward.
Lin Yaodong reacted quickly, turned around, reached out and caught her before she fell, then picked her up in his arms.
Ma Ling instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck, her heart pounding.
She looked up at Lin Yaodong. In the moonlight, his face was close to hers. His eyes, which always carried a smile, were now as deep as the night sea, churning with emotions she couldn't understand.
"You..." she wanted to say something.
But Lin Yaodong didn't give her a chance.
He carried her in his arms and strode toward the entrance to the grove, disappearing inside in a few strides.
