Courtyard House: Inheriting the Restaurant, the Jia Family Wants to Get It for Free

Chapter 48 Liu Haizhong courts death, Cheng Shuhai kicks someone!

Liu Haizhong jogged all the way, panting as he arrived outside the small restaurant.

Before he even reached the restaurant entrance, the overpowering aroma of spicy food wafted into his nose, making him involuntarily swallow.

He cursed inwardly: This Cheng Shuhai is really something.

However, the thought of being able to show his face in front of the factory leaders soon turned his displeasure into excitement.

He straightened his collar, straightened his back, and put on what he considered his most amiable smile before striding into the small restaurant.

The restaurant was bustling with noise and excitement.

Liu Haizhong immediately spotted Deputy Factory Director Yang, Director Li, and Old Shi sitting in the innermost seats.

His eyes lit up, and he immediately swarmed over like a fly that had found its tribe, rubbing his hands together.

"Oh my! Deputy Factory Director Yang! Director Li! You two are having lunch here too!" He bowed and scraped, his face crinkling with smiles. "I'm Liu Haizhong from the forging workshop in our factory. Do you two remember me?"

Deputy Factory Director Yang and Director Li were chatting with Old Shi when he interrupted them, which displeased them.

They vaguely recognized the man with the bangs, but only to the point of being somewhat familiar with his face.

"Oh, it's Master Liu."

Deputy Factory Director Yang nodded indifferently, which was considered a greeting.

Director Li nodded slightly.

Liu Haizhong encountered a setback, but he was not discouraged at all.

He felt that leaders should definitely be a little reserved.

Just as he was thinking of saying something to get closer to the other person, he suddenly caught a glimpse out of the corner of his eye that the spicy chicken of the guests at the next table had just been served.

The bright red color, piled up like a small mountain, made his stomach rumble with hunger.

But more importantly, he felt his opportunity had arrived!

Why should these ordinary people get to eat first, while the leaders have to wait here?

Isn't this the perfect opportunity to shine?

Thinking about this, Liu Haizhong suddenly felt incredibly smart.

He cleared his throat, turned around, and strode aggressively toward the kitchen.

He went to the stove, looked at Cheng Shuhai who was tossing the wok, and immediately spoke up, his voice so loud that the whole restaurant could hear it.

"Cheng Shuhai! What are you doing here?!" He spoke with the air of a leader on an inspection tour, pointing outside. "Didn't you see Deputy Factory Director Yang and Director Li are still waiting for their meal? Don't you have any common sense? How could you serve others the food first?"

Upon hearing this, the faces of the guests at the table where the dishes had just been served immediately darkened.

What do you mean? We pay for a meal, and we have to wait in line behind your leaders?

The other diners in the restaurant also frowned, thinking that Liu Haizhong was meddling in other people's business.

The expressions on the faces of Deputy Factory Director Yang and Director Li also turned somewhat grim.

They were just out for a casual meal, but because of this guy's bangs, it looks like they're there to flaunt their official power and abuse their privileges.

If this gets out, what will become of my reputation?

Liu Haizhong, however, was completely oblivious to the change in atmosphere; he was indulging in the pleasure of "speaking up for justice" for his leader.

He looked at Cheng Shuhai and continued in a commanding tone, "Forget everything else now! I order you, immediately! Right now! Prepare the dishes for Deputy Factory Director Yang's table! This is a political task, do you understand?"

Cheng Shuhai stopped what he was doing.

He slowly placed the spatula on the stove, making a crisp sound.

He was exhausted after a long day and was already a bit irritable.

Now this idiot who appeared out of nowhere dares to come to his territory, point fingers at him, and even order him around?

Cheng Shuhai sneered inwardly.

Order me around? Who do you think you are? You want to step on me to lick your boss's ass? In your next life!

He didn't say anything, but simply turned around and looked coldly at Liu Haizhong.

Liu Haizhong felt a little uneasy under his gaze, but he still stiffened his neck and shouted, his voice stern but his voice weak, "What are you looking at? Hurry up and cook! Can you take responsibility if you delay the leader's meal?"

Cheng Shuhai remained silent.

He simply raised his right foot silently.

Then, to everyone's astonishment, he cleanly and decisively kicked the round belly in Liu Hai's hair!

"Bang!"

A muffled thud.

Liu Haizhong's body, weighing over 180 pounds, was sent flying like a kicked ball, crashing heavily onto the open ground two meters away, knocking over a bench in the process.

"Ouch!"

Liu Haizhong let out a pig-like scream, clutching his stomach and rolling on the ground.

The entire restaurant fell into a deathly silence instantly.

Everyone stared in disbelief at the scene, their chopsticks frozen in mid-air.

No one expected that this young boss would have such a fiery temper, resorting to violence without warning, and right in front of the factory leaders!

After a brief silence.

"Pfft!"

I don't know who couldn't help but laugh first.

Immediately afterwards, the suppressed laughter spread rapidly throughout the restaurant, as if it were contagious.

"Ha ha ha ha!"

"Good kick!"

"That fat guy just needs to be taught a lesson!"

The entire small restaurant was instantly filled with a cheerful atmosphere.

The rising and falling jeers were like red-hot steel needles, piercing the fragile self-esteem of Liu Haizhong.

He clutched his throbbing stomach, struggling to get up from the ground, his old face turning a deep purplish-red, a mixture of shame and anger.

His fellow workers at the steel rolling mill laughed the loudest and showed the least mercy.

"Hey Lao Liu, what are you doing? Coming here to interfere with Comrade Cheng's cooking, aren't you just asking for a kick?"

"Exactly! I think Comrade Cheng went easy on you. If it were me, I would have given you a few more kicks!"

"Hahaha, now look what happened, we've lost face even in Nanluoguxiang!"

These words were increasingly harsh, making Liu Haizhong almost spit out a mouthful of blood.

He was trembling with rage, pointing at the workers who had mocked him and yelling, "You...you don't know anything! Who am I doing this for? I'm only doing it to respect the leaders!"

He turned to the other diners in the restaurant and shouted righteously, "The leaders haven't even eaten yet, and you're all already eating! Do you even respect the leaders? This is disrespectful! Let me tell you, when I become a leader, the first thing I'll do is teach you a lesson on how to behave!"

He had hoped to save face with these words and, incidentally, demonstrate his loyalty to Deputy Factory Director Yang.

But as soon as he finished speaking, he saw Deputy Factory Director Yang's face darken at a visible speed.
