After Shennong and Xuandu left the Lingxiao Palace, Xuanbao stood alone in the palace, his gaze piercing through the thirty-three heavens, looking towards the primordial land, and fell into silence.

"Your Majesty seems to have something on your mind?" Yaochi's voice sounded behind Xuanbao. She had returned to the Heavenly Court at some point and was standing at the palace gate, looking at Xuanbao with gentle eyes.

Xuanbao didn't turn around, but said softly, "Rahu has been born for a hundred years, yet he has remained dormant. Don't you find that strange?"

Yaochi paused slightly, then frowned: "Your Majesty means... that Rahu is plotting an even bigger conspiracy?"

"It's not a conspiracy, it's an open strategy." Xuanbao turned around, a profound light flashing in his eyes. "Luo Hou, though a demon ancestor, never wins by brute force. During the war between the Dao and the Demon, he single-handedly stirred up the primordial world, and even Hongjun nearly fell into his hands. How could such a person be rendered helpless by a mere Demon-Slaying Order?"

He paused, then continued, "These past hundred years have been too peaceful; it's merely the calm before the storm."

Yaochi's heart skipped a beat: "Then how should we deal with this?"

"We will remain steadfast amidst change," Xuanbao said calmly. "The Heavenly Court's foundation is already solid, the Spirit Crystal system is deeply ingrained in people's hearts, and the Demon-Slaying Order has united the cultivators of the Primordial World in their hatred of the enemy. As long as we don't panic, Rahu will have no opportunity to take advantage of us."

Xuanbao looked towards the direction of the Western Spirit Mountain: "What's more... those two are probably even more anxious than we are."

Yaochi followed his gaze, seemingly lost in thought: "Your Majesty, are you referring to the two sages of the West?"

Yaochi was silent for a moment, then said softly, "Should we...?"

"No rush," Xuanbao interrupted her. "Let them suffer a little longer. When they have nowhere else to turn, they will naturally strike first."

Xuanbao turned around, a hint of amusement in his eyes: "At that time, the initiative will be in our hands."

Yaochi's heart stirred, and she instantly understood Xuanbao's plan. She couldn't help but secretly admire him—this Heavenly Emperor not only possessed unfathomable cultivation, but his strategic planning was also breathtaking.

"Your Majesty is wise," Yaochi said, bowing.

Xuanbao waved his hand: "Go, send someone to keep an eye on the movements of Mount Ling. If Rahu makes a move, there will be signs."

"As you command," Yaochi replied, turning and leaving.

Once again, only Xuanbao remained in the Lingxiao Palace.

He stood with his hands behind his back by the window, gazing into the boundless depths of chaos, and murmured to himself, "Chaos Demon God... Rahu... Hongjun... This game is getting more and more interesting."

……

On this day, the weather was fine and the sun was shining. On the riverbank by the East China Sea, Cangjie sat as usual on the large, gray-white rock that had been smoothed by the flowing water.

A hundred years is but a fleeting moment for cultivators. But for Cangjie, this hundred years was his path of transformation from a mortal to a golden immortal, from ignorance to enlightenment.

Before him lay the set of the Four Treasures of the Study, which had become one with his heart: a jade-handled wolf-hair brush, purple-gold pine soot ink, pure white paper, and an inkstone that had turned into the color of purple jade.

Over the course of a century, he used this set of brush, ink, paper, and inkstone to record the forms and spirit of countless things in the world.

He observed the sun, moon, and stars, recording their trajectories; he observed mountains and rivers, recording their undulations and patterns; he observed birds, beasts, insects, and fish, recording their forms and characteristics; he observed plants and flowers, recording their flourishing and withering changes.

He depicted the "textures" of all things in the world on paper. The drawings became more and more exquisite and lifelike, as if they could condense all things in the world into a small space.

However, he always felt that something was missing.

While pictures can convey form, they struggle to capture spirit; while they can record events, they fail to express meaning. He needed a simpler, more efficient, and more capable way to carry thoughts and emotions.

On this day, he sat by the river as usual, watching the tracks of fish swimming in the water, the traces of birds flying in the sky, and the patterns left by the wind blowing across the sand.

Suddenly, his gaze fell on the beach—a bird's footprint, simple, clear, yet containing a kind of indescribable rhythm.

At that moment, it was as if a bolt of lightning had cleaved through the fog that had accumulated in his mind for a hundred years!

"Form...sound...meaning..."

He muttered to himself, his eyes gleaming with an unprecedented light!

"All things in heaven and earth have their 'form'; the form of all things can be condensed into 'image'; the image of all images can be transformed into 'symbol'! Symbols are those that take the form of all things, condense the spirit of all images, use simplicity to control complexity, and use form to convey meaning!"

He abruptly stood up, grabbed a jade-handled wolf-hair brush, dipped it heavily in purple-gold ink, and spread out a sheet of clean white paper—

The first stroke is made!

It was the character "日" (sun). It did not depict the complete shape of the sun, but rather used the simplest lines to outline its contours and spirit—a circular outline with a dot in the middle, like the eternally burning true fire of the sun.

The second stroke, right after!

It was the character "月" (moon). Based on the shape of a crescent moon, its lines were soft and cool, as if it contained the clear radiance of the moon.

The third stroke, the fourth stroke... the tenth stroke... the hundredth stroke!

Cangjie was completely immersed in his creation. His hand moved, his brush flew, and his ink flowed. Symbols that had never appeared in the primordial world before, yet contained the ultimate truths of heaven and earth, were constantly being born from his pen!

The character "水" (water) is derived from the shape of flowing water, with its lines winding and curving, as if one can hear the murmuring of water.

The character "火" (fire) is derived from the shape of flames, with lines that fly upwards, as if one can feel the scorching heat.

The character "山" (mountain) is derived from the shape of mountains, with lines that are stable and upright, as if one can see the majestic mountains.

The character "云" (cloud) captures the essence of clouds, with flowing, graceful lines that seem to allow one to touch the soft, drifting clouds...

He forgot time, forgot space, forgot everything. In his eyes, there were only the words that were constantly being born and perfected. In his heart, there was only an unprecedented understanding and joy.

What he wrote was not just words, but his understanding of heaven and earth and all things, his insights from his spiritual practice, and his ultimate interpretation of the way of "literature"!

After an unknown amount of time, when he finally put down his pen, the paper in front of him was covered with densely packed characters.

Some of these characters are simple, with only a few strokes; others are complex, with strokes crisscrossing and intersecting. But they all share a common characteristic—each character seems to possess life, radiating an indescribable spiritual charm.

Cangjie put down his pen, looked at the characters he had created, and his eyes were filled with excitement and satisfaction.

Cangjie put down his pen, looked at the characters he had created, and his eyes were filled with excitement and satisfaction.

"It's done...it's finally done..."

He murmured to himself, his voice trembling slightly with excitement.

The very moment he uttered those words—

"boom--!!!"

The once clear sky suddenly changed color!

Endless primordial merit descended from the depths of the Heavenly Dao's origin, like a bursting dam, from the highest heavens! The richness and vastness of that merit almost dyed the entire sky a brilliant gold!

The aura of merit, like a tangible golden waterfall, cascaded down from the heavens, enveloping Cangjie entirely. However, this was only the beginning—

Immediately afterwards, a deep and resonant rumble came from the depths of the earth. A boundless, all-encompassing primordial energy rose from the ground, mingling with the golden light of merit in the sky! That was the earth's resonance, the descent of earthly merit!

At the same time, the destiny of the human race was also surging violently! Countless human people, no matter where they were or what they were doing, felt a tremor from the depths of their souls at the same moment. They involuntarily stopped what they were doing and looked towards the direction of the East Sea coast, as if something was being born in that direction, something that was intimately connected with each and every one of them.

Humanitarian merits also surged forth like a tide!

Heaven, Earth, and Man – a resonance of three realms!

At this moment, the entire primordial world trembled!

At Kunlun Mountain, the Three Pure Ones simultaneously opened their eyes, their eyes filled with shock!

In the Nuwa Palace, the goddess Nuwa suddenly stood up, her beautiful face filled with horror!

In the netherworld, the Goddess Houtu suddenly looked up, and the Wheel of Reincarnation spun wildly behind her!

On the Western Vulture Peak, Rahu's usually calm and composed face revealed a look of surprise and uncertainty for the first time!

"What kind of aura is this?! It's not the path to enlightenment, could it be the birth of a supreme treasure?!"

Above Cangjie's head, the three thousand newly created characters seemed to be summoned by the merits of Heaven, Earth, and Man, and they all emitted a dazzling light! They floated up from the paper, as if they had life, and spun, danced, and intertwined in the air!

Three thousand characters, arranged and combined according to some mysterious rules, eventually condensed into a book!

The book was entirely dark yellow, and on the cover, two ancient characters shone brightly—"Wen Dian" (文典)!

The moment the book was completed, an indescribable, vast Daoist aura, seemingly carrying the weight of civilization, erupted forth! That aura was not the sharpness of an innate spiritual treasure, nor the domineering nature of an innate supreme treasure, but a more magnificent, more inclusive, and more profound aura—it was the aura of civilization, the aura of inheritance, and the aura of wisdom!

The most precious treasure of merit—the literary classics!

Cangjie reached out, and the book flew into his hand automatically. It was warm to the touch, as if he were holding not a book, but the weight of an entire civilization. He turned the pages, and saw that each of the three thousand characters shimmered with a warm golden light, as if it possessed life, gently dancing on the pages.

The moment he grasped the scripture, the merits bestowed by Heaven, Earth, and Man found an outlet and surged wildly into his body!

"boom--!!!"

Cangjie's aura surged dramatically!

Early stage of Golden Immortal... Middle stage of Golden Immortal... Late stage of Golden Immortal... Peak stage of Golden Immortal!

Taiyi Golden Immortal Early Stage... Taiyi Golden Immortal Middle Stage... Taiyi Golden Immortal Late Stage... Taiyi Golden Immortal Peak Stage!

Early stage of Great Luo Golden Immortal... Middle stage of Great Luo Golden Immortal... Late stage of Great Luo Golden Immortal... Peak stage of Great Luo Golden Immortal!

Quasi-Saint!

Early Quasi-Saint stage... Mid-Quasi-Saint stage... Late Quasi-Saint stage...

Finally, his aura stabilized at the peak of Quasi-Saint!

He's only one realm away from becoming a legendary Grand Luo Golden Immortal!

Moreover, his merits were not completely consumed; instead, they transformed into a warm, golden halo that hovered behind his head. The halo slowly rotated, emanating a vast aura that inspired peace and reverence. Furthermore, wisps of merit energy merged into the text, making this newly born treasure of merit even more profound and substantial.

Cangjie stood in the void, surrounded by golden light of merit. The texts in his hands turned automatically, and the three thousand characters spun and danced around him like stars. He slowly closed his eyes, feeling the unprecedented, vast power within him, and the inseparable connection established between himself and the three thousand characters.

He got it.

These three thousand characters are not merely symbols he created, but also his understanding of heaven and earth and all things, his insights from spiritual practice, and his ultimate interpretation of the Way of Literature. Each character contains a piece of his Taoist philosophy.

The written classics are the carriers of these three thousand characters, the embodiment of the "Wen" way, and the symbol of the inheritance of civilization.

"Your disciple Cangjie has created three thousand characters today, compiling them into a written classic to transmit the Great Way!"

Cangjie's voice, carrying an unprecedented solemnity and reverence, resounded throughout heaven and earth:

As soon as his voice fell, a magnificent Daoist sound resounded throughout the heavens and earth—

"good!"

The voice seemed to come from the Way of Heaven, the Way of Earth, and the Way of Humanity. The three paths resonated, acknowledging Cangjie's achievements, the three thousand characters, this classic text, and the orthodox status of the Way of Literature in the primordial world!

Strange phenomena are appearing everywhere in the world!

Golden flowers fall in disarray, golden lotuses spring up from the ground, purple aura travels thirty thousand miles eastward, and auspicious clouds gather in the ninth heaven!

Countless powerful figures turned their gazes toward the shores of the East Sea, toward the figure standing in the void, surrounded by golden light of merit. In their eyes were shock, envy, admiration, and complex emotions.

But they all knew that from this day forward, a new chapter had begun in the history of the primordial world.

And at that very moment—

A figure appeared silently before Cangjie.

The man wore a simple blue Taoist robe, his long hair casually tied back with a wooden hairpin, his face gentle and refined, and his aura unfathomable. He stood there quietly, yet seemed to be one with the entire world, as if he were a part of it.

Upon seeing the newcomer, Cangjie was first taken aback, then his eyes blazed with immense excitement. He quickly put away his scriptures, straightened his clothes, and knelt down respectfully.

"Disciple Cangjie greets Master!"

His voice was filled with immense excitement and gratitude.

It's been a hundred years.

Ever since his teacher enlightened him on the riverbank and bestowed upon him the Four Treasures of the Study, he has been alone on the shores of the East China Sea, silently studying, exploring, and experimenting. Over the course of a century, he has experienced countless failures and tasted countless setbacks; he has also been confused and hesitant.

But he never gave up.

And today, when he finally succeeded in creating characters and compiling them into a classic, his teacher indeed appeared!

Xuanbao looked at Cangjie kneeling before him, a hint of satisfaction and approval flashing in his eyes.

A century has passed, and the melancholy and lost youth who once sat by the river has been completely transformed. He remains slender, but his brow now bears the unwavering resolve and composure that comes with years of experience. His aura has also risen from the Golden Immortal realm to the peak of Quasi-Saint!

This is not only the result of his good deeds, but also the reward for his century of arduous cultivation, century of enlightenment, and century of perseverance.

"Get up." Xuanbao reached out, and a gentle force lifted Cangjie up. "You did a great job, even better than I expected."

Cangjie stood up, his eyes slightly red: "If it weren't for your guidance back then, Master, how could I be where I am today?"

Xuanbao smiled slightly and did not continue on this topic.

Xuanbao knew all too well that he was merely adding icing on the cake. Even without his help, the legendary writer Cangjie could have created characters, though the effect would certainly not have been as significant.

It is important to know that the prehistoric world has changed a lot because of the existence of the Xuanbao. For example, Kunpeng did not follow his original path and did not create the demon script. Therefore, the prehistoric world is still mainly based on the transmission of divine sense, with the innate Dao script as a supplement.

The characters created by Cangjie are truly unique in the primordial world, so it's possible that Cangjie later became the progenitor of primordial writing.

……

"Three thousand characters...corresponding to three thousand Great Daos..." Xuanbao murmured to himself, a hint of admiration flashing in his eyes, "Good, good, good!"

However, Xuanbao also said seriously, "Cangjie, do you know what your actions today mean?"

Cangjie was taken aback, pondered for a moment, and replied, "I believe that the creation of writing allows humankind to record history, pass on knowledge, and exchange ideas. From then on, humankind will no longer rely solely on oral tradition, but can condense wisdom into writing, passing it down from generation to generation, accumulating and developing continuously."

"That's true, but that's only one aspect." Xuanbao nodded, then shook his head. "The meaning of words goes far beyond that."

Xuanbao stood with his hands behind his back, gazing into the distance, his voice becoming distant and profound: "Writing is the foundation of civilization. With writing, we can record history, summarize experiences, and pass on wisdom. With writing, humanity can establish a true civilization system, move from ignorance to enlightenment, and from weakness to strength."

"But more importantly—" He turned his head and looked intently at Cangjie, "writing is the vehicle of the Dao."

Cangjie was startled.

"The Great Dao of Heaven and Earth is profound and mysterious, difficult to express and indescribable," Xuanbao said slowly. "But with writing, the principles of the Great Dao can be condensed into words, and conveyed and passed down through writing. From then on, cultivators no longer rely solely on oral transmission, but can comprehend the true essence of the Great Dao by reading the classics."

"The script you created is not just the script of humans, but the script of all races throughout history. Do you understand what I mean?!"

Cangjie was deeply moved, feeling a sudden clarity dawning on him. He had always believed that he created writing simply to help humankind better record and communicate. He never imagined that the significance of writing would be so profound and so vast!

"Disciple understands!" Cangjie took a deep breath, his eyes shining with unwavering determination. "The way of writing is the way of civilization, the way of inheritance, the way of the Great Dao! Disciple will certainly do his utmost to spread writing throughout the primordial world, and let the light of civilization illuminate all generations!"

"Good." Xuanbao nodded in satisfaction. "You understand this point, and it has not been in vain that I have been waiting for you for a hundred years."
