Along the way, Li Kaixin briefly introduced himself to the other police officers.

When I arrived at the police station, I thought I would just register my information, receive the certificate, and then leave.

To everyone's surprise, Captain Chen and his group first led Li Kaixin to the reception room.

"Kaixin, sit here for a while. We're going to report the situation." After saying that, Captain Chen left in a hurry.

After everyone left, Li Kaixin sat down on a chair in the reception room.

About half an hour later, Captain Chen pushed open the door and came in with a smile on his face.

Li Kaixin quickly stood up and asked in confusion, "Uncle Chen, why is the report taking so long?"

"I just finished reporting to the director, and the director then relayed the information to the higher-ups over the phone."

"A leader happened to hear about your situation and wanted to come down to meet you, so it took a while," Captain Chen explained with a smile.

Then, stepping forward, he patted Li Kaixin's arm as he spoke: "Let's go, the leader is inside."

Li Kaixin followed Captain Chen outside, somewhat bewildered.

But in his heart he was thinking: It's just a certificate for bravery, why did it alarm the leaders above?

A short while later, they arrived at the office.

Two middle-aged people were sitting inside the room.

The man in the main seat, with his composed demeanor, must be a leader from above; while the smiling man beside him must be the head of the local police station.

Captain Chen led Li Kaixin through the door, then left, closing the door behind him.

The middle-aged man, who seemed to be the director, greeted him with a smile: "Are you Comrade Li Kaixin? Come, sit down, don't be shy."

"Yes, boss."

Li Kaixin smiled in response and, without any hesitation, walked straight to the chair opposite and sat down.

After Li Kaixin sat down, the director personally poured her a cup of tea and pushed it towards her, introducing the person in the main seat with a smile:

"Comrade Kaixin, this is Director Liu from our Public Security Bureau."

Upon hearing this, Li Kaixin was first startled, then looked puzzled.

Seeing Li Kaixin's expression, Director Liu, who was in the main seat, didn't beat around the bush and stood up to bow solemnly to him:

"Comrade Li Kaixin, thank you for saving my son."

Li Kaixin instantly remembered that the injured policeman was also surnamed Liu, and his doubts were immediately resolved.

Then, he quickly stood up and said sincerely, "Director Liu, please don't do this. It's all what we should do. The police officers were injured while protecting the people; we are so grateful to you!"

These words not only pleased the director standing nearby, but also made Director Liu feel that the young man in front of him had a high level of awareness.

Seeing that the two were still standing, the director quickly smiled and gestured, "Director Liu, Comrade Li Kaixin, sit down, let's sit down and talk slowly."

After the two sat down again, Director Liu and Li Kaixin started chatting.

Director Liu took a sip of tea and asked kindly, "Comrade Kaixin, before I came here, I specifically asked the doctor at the hospital. He praised your acupuncture techniques to the skies!"

"Director Liu, you flatter me. These are just small tricks, nothing serious," Li Kaixin replied humbly.

Director Liu smiled, changing the subject and asking instead, "Judging from your age, you must still be in school, right?"

"I just graduated from junior high school this summer and have already started working," Li Kaixin said, sounding a little embarrassed.

"I see!"

Director Liu nodded thoughtfully, then smiled gently and said, "Would you be interested in working in our system? I can arrange it for you."

Upon hearing this, Director Huang, who was standing to the side, couldn't help but show a look of envy in his eyes.

Li Kaixin knew that this was an olive branch extended by Director Liu, and also a way to buy out the debt of gratitude for saving her son's medical treatment.

If I agree, with Director Liu's connections, a meteoric rise in my career will be a piece of cake.

"Thank you for your kindness, Director Liu!"

Li Kaixin replied almost without hesitation, "I'm quite satisfied with my current job and have no plans to change jobs for the time being."

Upon hearing this, Director Huang, who was standing nearby, was immediately taken aback.

He was well aware of his superior's background; at just over forty years old, he had secured the position of Director of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau, a position that required both exceptional family background and ability. Such an opportunity was something many people would kill for.

Upon hearing this, Director Liu was taken aback at first, then his expression turned slightly solemn, and he naturally exuded the aura of someone who had long held a high position:

"Comrade Kaixin, you should think this through. The opportunity I'm offering is completely different from the resources you currently have at work."

"Thank you, Director Liu. I've thought it through very clearly." Li Kaixin met Director Liu's gaze without flinching or avoiding it, her tone calm.

Suddenly, the faint pressure disappeared.

Director Liu's expression softened, and a smile returned to his face, this time with a more genuine warmth.

"well!"

"Since you put it that way, I won't insist. But please stop calling me Director Liu all the time. If you don't mind, just call me Uncle Liu!"

"Okay, Uncle Liu."

Li Kaixin quickly chimed in, then said with a beaming smile, "Then please don't keep calling me Comrade Kaixin, just call me Kaixin."

"Okay, I'll make you happy."

Director Liu's smile widened, and he then took out a small notebook and a pen from his jacket pocket, wrote a few lines, and handed them over:

"This contains my personal phone number and home address. If you encounter any difficulties in the future, you can come to me or call me anytime."

"Thank you, Uncle Liu."

This time, Li Kaixin accepted it without hesitation.

Director Huang, standing to the side, stared wide-eyed, feeling a mixture of envy and admiration. He himself would have agreed without hesitation in that situation.

Seeing that Li Kaixin accepted the gift, Director Liu raised his hand to look at his watch and smiled at Li Kaixin, saying, "Kaixin, I still have some things to take care of. Let Director Huang talk to you about the rest."

With that, he got up and walked outside.

Li Kaixin and Director Huang escorted Director Liu to the door.

"Happy, Lao Huang, wait a minute."

Director Liu waved his hand at the door, turned around and stepped into the jeep parked in the yard.

The two stood by the door, watching the jeep drive out of the yard, before turning back to their office.

After sitting down again, Li Kaixin asked with a somewhat embarrassed expression, "Director Huang, about my award certificate..."

"I'm so happy! Don't be shy, just call me Uncle Huang, like Director Liu does!" Director Huang smiled warmly.

Then he continued, "Don't worry about the certificate; I've already submitted it. According to procedure, it'll take a few more days to receive it. When it arrives, I'll include your workplace information and send it to you. Do you think that would be better?"

Upon hearing this, Li Kaixin thanked him in a friendly tone, "Thank you, Uncle Huang!"

He then revealed his workplace.

Upon hearing this form of address, Director Huang's smile deepened, and he nodded to indicate that he had taken note.

Afterwards, the two sat and chatted for a while about everyday things.

Seeing that it was getting late, Li Kaixin got up to say goodbye and left the police station.
