After greeting this "cheap mother-in-law" with mixed feelings and getting to know her a bit, Su Ran turned to look at Shui Bing'er and the others.

His gaze swept over the women, finally settling on Huo Wu, and he spoke:

"Bing'er, Yue'er, you two go and catch up with the Dean first. I'll take Huo Wu back to Blazing Fire Academy, and then I'll come back to pick you up."

"Alright, my husband." Shui Bing'er nodded gently, her eyes tender. "Then be careful on your journey."

Shuiyue'er, Xuewu, and the others nodded in agreement.

Not long.

Su Ran then led Huo Wu to the gates of Blazing Fire Academy. The familiar flame-embroidered gate gleamed metallically in the afternoon sunlight, and the faint sounds of students practicing could be heard from within. Huo Wu gazed at the gate, her steps faltering slightly, her fingertips unconsciously curling.

"Husband," she turned around, looked up at Su Ran, her light red eyes filled with a clear plea, "Could you let me go in first and meet my brother and father alone? I don't want you to... cause any misunderstandings as soon as you meet."

Huo Wu spoke softly, clearly concerned about a potential conflict between the two sides.

Su Ran nodded casually, her face expressionless: "Okay, no problem. Then go see your father and brother first, and have a good talk with them."

"Hmm," Huo Wu breathed a sigh of relief, a slight smile playing on her lips, "Thank you, my husband."

After she finished speaking, she took one last deep look at the academy gate, as if gathering her courage, before turning around and walking quickly toward the place she had longed for day and night, her skirt swaying gently with her steps.

Su Ran remained outside the door, casually strolling along the outer wall of the academy, her gaze sweeping over the vines climbing the wall and the dust rising from the training ground in the distance.

About ten minutes later, Huo Wu still hadn't returned from inside the door.

On the side path, however, a figure, carrying a strong wind and an aura of rage, rushed towards Su Ran like a lit arrow. Before the person even arrived, the roar already shook the air:

"Bastard! It's you! I'm going to kill you!"

The visitor was none other than Feng Xiaotian from Shenfeng Academy, Huo Wu's well-known and persistent suitor.

His eyes were bloodshot, veins throbbing on his forehead, and his once handsome face was now slightly distorted by extreme anger. His soul power surged uncontrollably, causing his robes to flutter loudly.

"Why are you, you deadbeat simp, squatting at the entrance of Blazing Fire Academy again?" Su Ran clicked her tongue, her tone full of undisguised sarcasm. "You don't happen to be hanging around every few days, hoping that Huo Wu hasn't returned, do you?"

"Shut up! Give Huo Wu back!"

Seemingly hit where it hurt, Feng Xiaotian rushed even faster, quickly conjuring a huge and sharp cyan wind blade in his hand. He stomped his feet on the ground and swept out like a gust of wind. The wind blade tore through the air and slashed straight at Su Ran's face with a piercing shriek!

Su Ran simply raised her hand casually, as if brushing away the dust in front of her.

An invisible yet overwhelming force arose out of nowhere, abruptly halting Feng Xiaotian's forward momentum. The wind blade in his hand shattered into points of light with a "crack," and he was sent flying backward with a muffled groan, his back slamming heavily against a large tree by the roadside, causing leaves to fall in a rustling sound before he slid to the ground, a trickle of blood spilling from the corner of his mouth.

"Cough...cough cough! You bastard! How dare you kidnap Huo Wu! I will kill you and rescue her!"

Feng Xiaotian wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth with the back of his hand, his chest heaving violently, but the obsessive flame in his eyes burned even brighter.

He braced himself on the ground with both hands, gritted his teeth, and shakily stood up again. Ignoring the churning blood and qi within him, he once again activated his soul power and roared as he charged toward Su Ran.

"Damn it," Su Ran frowned impatiently, "the last time I saw someone so good at sucking up was You Tanzhi. You'll have to be added to this list of extraordinary people from now on!"

Su Ran cursed and swore. When Feng Xiaotian rushed close, Su Ran seemingly casually raised his leg and kicked, the movement so fast that only a blur remained.

Feng Xiaotian screamed again as he was kicked away, rolling several times on the ground before stopping, covered in dust.

Anyone with eyes could see that Su Ran had clearly held back; otherwise, Feng Xiaotian would have been killed on the spot.

But Feng Xiaotian, completely consumed by jealousy, anger, and a self-indulgent obsession, would never appreciate such sentiments.

He couldn't understand Su Ran's sarcasm, nor did he care about the disparity in strength; his mind was filled with only one thought: "fight to the death."

When the group saw Feng Xiaotian lying on the ground not far away, looking disheveled and miserable, and then looked at Su Ran who was calm and composed as if nothing had happened, their expressions became even more complicated, filled with fear and helplessness.

Huo Yunsheng and Huo Wushuang exchanged a heavy look, took a deep breath, and finally stepped forward, stopping a few steps away from Su Ran. They awkwardly cupped their hands in greeting.

Huo Wushuang's lips were pressed together until they turned white, and she avoided Su Ran's gaze with a complicated expression.
