Obsessive Young Master Wei: My Beloved Loses Control Every Night

Chapter 20 Can't you even smile at someone?

The president's office is located on the top floor of the Wei Group headquarters.

Wei Yanqiu listened to Butler Li's report through his earphones, which included the aftermath of the lunchbox incident, the brief "collaboration" in the pottery class, and Wei Zixian's unusual initiative in the recent jigsaw puzzle game.

"I understand. Continue to observe, and provide more detailed daily reports, especially regarding Zixian's emotions and interactions."

There are less than two weeks left.

Side branches...

This woman was more resourceful and more... patient than she had initially anticipated.

She was originally just trying anything as a last resort.

She didn't expect Bian Zhizhi to create any miracles; she only hoped that she could stabilize Wei Zixian's emotions and allow the board of directors to make a smooth transition during this period.

But Bian Zhizhi's performance was beyond her expectations.

She was not deterred by Wei Zixian's indifference and rejection; instead, she used her remarkable resilience to gradually break down the ice that surrounded her brother's heart.

Bento boxes, clay, puzzles... these seemingly simple and even childish methods seem to have truly touched some long-closed corners of Zixian's heart.

This girl seems to be a bit different.

Wei Yanqiu had no choice but to admit it.

But the more different they are, the more vigilant we need to be.

In an environment like the Wei family's, anyone who gets close to the core members inevitably has various motives.

She had investigated Bian Zhizhi's background; it was clean and simple—just an ordinary art therapist.

But the simpler and cleaner something looks, the more likely it is to hide deeper schemes.

She picked up the internal phone and connected with Zhou Lin.

"Send me my schedule for next week. Also, please provide more details in Zixian's daily reports, especially all his interactions with Bian Zhizhi, no matter how subtle. I need to know everything."

She could not allow any uncertainties to affect the stability of the Wei family at this crucial juncture of the board meeting, especially... to affect Zixian.

A few days later, one afternoon, the tranquility of the activity room was once again broken by an uninvited guest.

Lu Fangchi, carrying a cardboard box with a cool sports car pattern printed on it, pushed open the door without knocking and barged in, bringing a gust of wind with him.

"Wei Xiaoxian! Look what I brought you! A brand new mechanical sports car! Once assembled, it can be remotely controlled and it actually runs! Isn't that cool?"

He was loud and boisterous, ignoring all the unspoken rules of "keeping quiet" as always.

Wei Zixian was sitting on the sofa reading a book about classical architectural columns when the sudden noise disturbed him. He frowned unhappily and gave Lu Fangchi a look that was clearly disgusted.

But when he caught a glimpse of the box with its intricate gears and sports car design, his eyes lit up noticeably.

He has never been able to resist models with such complex structures and mechanical beauty.

Lu Fangchi was already immune to his disdain. He found a comfortable spot on the carpet and began to deftly unpack the boxes, dumping thousands of parts onto the mat he had laid out beforehand.

He glanced at Bian Zhizhi, who was quietly sketching a healing plan at the long table, and winked at Wei Zixian.

"Oh, Miss Bian is here too? It must be hard on you, spending so much time with our young master Wei every day. I hope I'm not disturbing you... um... what was it, 'art therapy'?"

Bian Zhizhi's fingers tightened slightly as she held the pen, the tip leaving an extra mark on the paper.

She didn't dare to respond, or even look up. She could only bury her face even lower, pretending to be completely absorbed in her sketch, but her ears were uncontrollably burning.

Lu Fangchi's blatant teasing always left her feeling bewildered.

Wei Zixian ignored him, bent down to pick up the instruction manual from the carpet, and began to look through it, seemingly completely immersed in the complicated assembly steps.

But Lu Fangchi was incredibly observant. Between turning the pages, Wei Zixian's gaze seemed to drift quickly toward Bian Zhizhi's direction once or twice.

Although it was so fast it seemed like an illusion, Lu Fangchi was sure he wasn't mistaken.

Lu Fangchi's nonchalant smile deepened, tinged with the slyness of someone who had discovered some interesting secret.

Lu Fangchi leaned closer to Wei Zixian and spoke in what he thought was a very low voice, but which Bian Zhizhi could still faintly hear.

"Hey, Wei Xiaoxian, Miss Bian is with you every day, working so hard without complaint, can't you even give her a smile?"

Wei Zixian reached out and grabbed a small puzzle piece from the pile of parts on the ground, stuffing it into Lu Fangchi's still-chattering mouth.

"Shut up. Just do your best."

"Pah! Pah! Pah! Wei Zixian, you're trying to murder me!"

Lu Fangchi exaggeratedly spat out the parts, patting his chest with a look of disgust, as if he had really choked.

But the next second, he stubbornly moved even closer, lowering his voice even further, this time so that only the two of them could truly hear him:

"Seriously, Zixian,"

Lu Fangchi put away his joking tone and became unusually serious.

"What do you think of Miss Bian's healing method? Is it effective?"

Wei Zixian paused in his work of assembling the chassis frame.

Many images flashed through his mind in an instant.

confusion.

noisy.

Unfamiliar emotional fluctuations.

but……

She is there.

well.

Or is it something you've grown accustomed to?

It's no longer that initial strong aversion and discomfort, but rather... tolerable, and even occasionally... not bad.

He remained silent and did not answer.

His long eyelashes drooped down, obscuring the emotions surging in his eyes that even he himself could not clearly discern.

Seeing his expression, Lu Fangchi didn't urge him, but waited patiently.

As a friend who grew up with Wei Zixian and could get close to him, he understood Wei Zixian's silence all too well.

This is not just a refusal to answer, but also an inner struggle and reflection.

After a while, Wei Zixian began to assemble the parts in his hands again.

He didn't look at Lu Fangchi; his gaze was fixed on the colorful plastic building blocks. His voice was so low it was almost a whisper, yet it reached Lu Fangchi's ears:

"……Quarrel."

Lu Fangchi was taken aback.

Quarrel?

Is it Bian Zhizhi who's being noisy, or Lu Fangchi?

Or perhaps... this need to deal with unfamiliar interpersonal relationships makes him feel "noisy"?

But before Lu Fangchi could think about it, Wei Zixian suddenly raised his eyes and glanced at him.

That look was complex, even... a little bit like a warning?

He was warned not to continue the topic.

Lu Fangchi felt a chill run down his spine when he saw that look. Then, as if he instantly understood something, his smile returned, even brighter than before. However, he wisely refrained from asking any further questions.

He chuckled dryly twice, then buried himself in assembling the sports car chassis, humming an off-key tune.

Meanwhile, at the long table, although Bian Zhizhi tried her best to concentrate, Lu Fangchi's previous question "How is it?" and Wei Zixian's sudden pause were like a demonic sound piercing her brain, making it impossible for her to ignore them.
