Obsessive Young Master Wei: My Beloved Loses Control Every Night

Chapter 43 This jealousy...it's pretty obvious!

She changed into her usual off-white knit sweater and light brown trousers, and put on an oatmeal-colored cardigan over them.

After thinking about it, I put on a light blue mask.

It was partly to prevent possible infection, and partly to... conceal her not-yet-fully-recovered appearance.

She didn't want him to think that she was still in pain.

Taking a deep breath to suppress the inexplicable tension in her heart, she opened the door and went out.

The corridor was quiet, and her heartbeat pounded in her chest like a drum, each beat clearly audible.

She stopped in front of the door, raised her hand, and gently pushed it open.

In the activity room, Wei Zixian stood there, by the window.

He was standing with his back to the door, wearing a light gray cashmere sweater, with a slender and slightly thin figure.

The sunlight bathed him in a soft golden glow, even the tips of his hair shimmered with light.

He turned around almost immediately upon hearing the door open.

Eyes facing each other.

Bian Zhizhi was caught off guard and her gaze met his.

His gaze was so intense it seemed to lock onto her instantly.

He seemed a little embarrassed by her gaze, his eyes lingering on her face for a moment before shifting to the floor.

Bian Zhizhi's heart skipped a beat.

Even through the mask, she could feel her cheeks burning.

She hurriedly looked away, cleared her throat, and said in a muffled voice, "Good morning, young master. I... I'm back."

Before she could finish speaking, Wei Zixian had already walked up to her in a few steps.

He didn't say anything, but simply reached out and grabbed her wrist again.

This time, the force was very light, more like a guiding motion.

He pulled her in from the doorway, closed the door behind him, and then led her to the sofa.

This had happened once before, and this time Bian Zhizhi appeared very calm.

He pressed her down on the sofa, turned around and walked to the other side of the room, pulling out the light gray cashmere blanket she usually covered her legs with when reading from the cabinet.

He unfolded the blanket and walked back to her.

He bent down and wrapped the blanket tightly around her, starting from her shoulders.

He wrapped it up in one layer, but it didn't seem enough, so he pulled it up again.

"Young Master,"

She couldn't help but speak, her voice muffled through the mask.

"I'm not cold. It's sunny today, and... I'm dressed quite warmly."

Wei Zixian ignored her protest.

He straightened up, stood in front of her, looked at her, and scanned her face, which was only partially covered by the blanket, as if to make sure she was wrapped up securely enough.

He only sat down on the sofa next to her, maintaining a polite distance, when he was satisfied.

He picked up the book he had been reading halfway through yesterday, opened it, and his eyes fell on the pages.

But Bian Zhizhi was willing to bet all her professional skills that he hadn't absorbed a single word.

Because every few seconds, his gaze would uncontrollably drift towards her, linger on her for a moment, and then quietly look away, pretending to be engrossed in reading.

That appearance, clumsy and stiff, yet... inexplicably softened one's heart.

Bian Zhizhi felt a little embarrassed and uncomfortable under his gaze.

She tried to pull the blanket down a little, at least to expose her arms, but as soon as she moved her fingers, a gaze drifted over from the side.

She froze, and had no choice but to give up.

The room quieted down, and the warm sunlight felt wonderful on my skin.

There were no words, no deliberate healing activities.

One was wrapped in a blanket reading healing content, while the other pretended to read but was actually peeking.

Just then.

"Bang!"

The door to the activity room was pushed open carelessly and slammed against the wall.

Lu Fangchi's signature voice rang out.

"Zixian! Look what fun stuff I brought you! The latest model airplane, it can fly so high...!"

His words came to an abrupt halt when he saw the scene on the sofa.

Lu Fangchi stopped at the doorway and raised an eyebrow.

His gaze swept back and forth between Bian Zhizhi, who was wrapped up like a rice dumpling, and Wei Zixian, who was sitting next to him with a book in his hand.

He walked in very naturally, closed the door behind him, and his smile remained unchanged.

"Oh! Miss Bian is back! Are you feeling better? Zixian was so worried about you."

As he spoke, he moved to the other side of the sofa, bent down, and got quite close to Bian Zhizhi, carefully examining her complexion through her mask, his tone concerned.

"Miss Bian's face still looks a bit pale, and her eyes are bloodshot. She's not fully recovered yet, is she? She needs to rest more!"

I know an old traditional Chinese medicine doctor who's incredibly effective at treating these recurring colds and coughs. Want me to introduce you? I guarantee he'll cure you completely!

His approach clearly crossed the line of normal social distance.

She wasn't used to being so close, and subconsciously wanted to lean back, her body slightly tilted back.

However, being wrapped tightly in the blanket and unable to move freely, this attempt to dodge appeared weak.

Lu Fangchi seemed oblivious, still waiting for her reply with a warm smile on his face.

Just then.

A muffled "bang" came from the side.

Wei Zixian slammed the book shut and tossed it onto the table.

The book touches the glass coffee table.

It made an unpleasant thud.

After putting down the book, he did not do anything else immediately.

She just sat there, her gaze fixed on Lu Fangchi's shoulder closest to Bian Zhizhi, her face expressionless, but her displeasure was almost bursting out.

The atmosphere in the room froze instantly because of that one sound.

Lu Fangchi seemed to be "reminded" by the voice, and stopped moving.

He slowly straightened up, took a half step back, and increased the distance between himself and Bian Zhizhi.

He glanced at Wei Zixian's face, which was so cold it looked like it was about to shatter.

He glanced at Bian Zhizhi, who was wrapped up with only her head sticking out and looked completely bewildered, and couldn't help but raise the corners of his mouth, his eyes sparkling with a mischievous smile.

He pretended to lower his head and clear his throat, but actually spoke quickly in a volume that only he and Bian Zhizhi could hear.

"See? What did I tell you? The young master is quite considerate, isn't he? Tsk tsk, his jealousy... is quite obvious."

Bian Zhizhi's face flushed red instantly.

Blood rushed to my cheeks instantly, burning hot, and even the tips of my ears felt like they were on fire.

Fortunately, the mask covered most of her face, but the blush on her exposed eyes and forehead was still visible.

She didn't know if it was because of Lu Fangchi's blatant teasing, the embarrassment of being exposed on the spot, or... because of Wei Zixian's overly obvious reaction.

She didn't dare to look at Wei Zixian's expression, so she could only lower her eyes in a panic, cough a few times to cover it up, and glare fiercely at Lu Fangchi.

I gave him a look to warn him not to say anything inappropriate.

Wei Zixian's face darkened completely after Lu Fangchi whispered those words.

He glared coldly at Lu Fangchi, his hands, which were resting on his knees, clenched into fists, with veins faintly visible on the back of his hands.

Lu Fangchi, however, seemed completely oblivious to the murderous gaze, laughing even more heartily. He even winked at Wei Zixian, giving her an expression that said, "I understand, I understand everything, you don't need to explain."
