Obsessive Young Master Wei: My Beloved Loses Control Every Night

Chapter 49 The Show's Over, Wei Xiaoxian

She guided his breathing rhythm, pulling him back from the brink of drowning.

Although the ringing in his ears was still there and the surrounding light and shadows still made him dizzy, her voice and gaze prevented his world from completely falling apart.

Lu Fangchi watched from the sidelines, secretly alarmed, and at the same time, he looked at Bian Zhizhi with new respect.

On the verge of almost getting out of control, she was still able to remain so calm and find the entry point so precisely.

"Young Master, let's go straight in," Bian Zhizhi said, supporting his arm.

"The theater will darken and become much quieter. Follow me, and walk slowly."

She began to move forward with him.

Lu Fangchi tacitly cleared the way, using a relaxed tone and slightly exaggerated gestures to push through the crowd: "Sorry for the trouble, everyone, please be careful!"

The bodyguards stood on either side of the flanks, using their bodies to shield against shopping bags or running children that occasionally bumped into them.

The distance from the elevator to the entrance of their VIP theater was only a few dozen meters.

For Wei Zixian, however, it felt like traversing thousands of mountains and rivers.

Every step was accompanied by tremendous psychological struggle and physical discomfort.

The shifting light and flickering shadows felt like hammer blows to his nerves.

His clenched fist trembled, his nails digging deep into his palm, causing a sharp pain that, ironically, kept him somewhat conscious.

Bian Zhizhi was beside him, her hand firmly supporting his arm, the warmth seeping through the fabric of his clothes.

Her voice kept ringing in my ears, "Good, that's it. We'll be there soon. Look, the door's over there."

Her gaze remained fixed on him, occasionally glancing around to assess the surroundings, but mostly lingering on his face.

Finally, the VIP theater doors came into view.

The moment Lu Fangchi pushed open the door, the room was already dimly lit.

GG was playing on the curved screen, and the sound was much quieter than in the lobby, serving as a soft background noise.

The seats were deep magenta velvet sofas, spaced far apart, with menus on the armrests.

Their seats were in the last row, in the corner, the most secluded, closest to the exit, and furthest from the other audience members.

Upon entering this strictly controlled space, Wei Zixian's extremely tense nerves visibly relaxed a little.

He was almost completely exhausted when Bian Zhizhi helped him sit down on the sofa.

Bian Zhizhi also breathed a sigh of relief and sat down in the seat next to him.

Lu Fangchi sat on the other side of Wei Zixian and leaned closer to ask in a low voice, "Are you alright, Zixian?"

Wei Zixian closed his eyes and shook his head.

"It's alright, young master," Bian Zhizhi said softly.

"The hardest part is over; now it's just a matter of sitting. If the screen is too bright, I have polarized sunglasses. If the sound is uncomfortable, I have earplugs in my bag. I can go out anytime."

Wei Zixian slowly opened his eyes.

Even in the dim light of the theater, his face remained pale, and there were tired shadows under his eyes.

But her pupils no longer dilated; the focus slowly sharpened and landed on her face.

He looked at her for a few seconds, his Adam's apple bobbed, and he uttered the first complete word of the day.

"it is good."

The movie started at the appropriate time.

The lights went completely dark, leaving only the cascading light from the screen.

This is a heartwarming romance film, without intense conflicts or explosive sound effects.

Wei Zixian remained stiff at first.

With his back straight, hands gripping the armrests tightly, and eyes fixed on the screen, he didn't blink.

It's like being on guard against a potentially explosive sound effect or a flash of bright light.

But as the plot unfolded, as the male and female protagonists had their simple yet sincere conversations, and as those quiet and beautiful scenes flowed by... his body gradually relaxed.

His tense shoulders gradually relaxed, his clenched fists slowly loosened, and he placed them flat on the velvet armrest.

I slowly sank into the depths of the sofa, finding an angle that would support my weight.

Bian Zhizhi kept an eye on him out of the corner of her eye.

She saw his lips twitch slightly at the male lead's clumsy confession.

When he saw the female lead walking home alone late at night, his eyelids blinked rapidly.

I saw his fingers resting on the armrest, unconsciously tapping the texture of the velvet in rhythm with the background piano.

He is adapting.

They might even be allowing themselves to immerse themselves in it.

This realization made her chest ache.

There was some relief, of course, but more than that, there was a heavy premonition.

He was more adaptable to the outside world than she had expected.

This means that he may crave a "normal" life more than she thought, and is more likely to break free from Wei Yanqiu's overprotective lifestyle.

The guide rope she was holding was getting hotter and hotter.

Halfway through the movie, a rather sentimental piece of background music started playing.

The female protagonist left the male protagonist due to a misunderstanding and walked alone on the street late at night, where the streetlights cast a long shadow of her.

The piano played a mournful tune, while the cello sobbed softly.

Bian Zhizhi saw that the changing light from the screen reflected in Wei Zixian's eyes, creating a thin layer of watery hue.

He quickly blinked away the glistening tears, turned his face away, and stared down at his interlaced fingers, his fingertips rubbing the base of his thumb and forefinger together, his skin turning red.

He was empathizing.

He was moved by other people's stories.

This is an almost landmark achievement.

Emotional resonance is key to healing, but it is also the easiest way to blur boundaries.

She pulled a tissue from the inside pocket of her bag, folded it into a small square, and gently pushed it to his side through the gap in the sofa armrest.

Wei Zixian paused for a moment, his fingers touching the tissue.

He turned his head and looked at her.

The light from the screen flickered on his face, obscuring his expression, but Bian Zhizhi could sense the bewilderment in his eyes.

He picked up the tissue, held it in his hand, but didn't use it.

He simply held it, his fingertips tracing the texture of the paper.

Then, he turned back and looked at the screen again.

But the roots of her ears turned red quietly under the changing light and shadow.

Lu Fangchi, standing to the side, witnessed everything.

He didn't make a sound to disturb them, but simply held the popcorn bucket, hiding the smile on his lips in the shadows.

As the movie ended, the lights slowly came on, the soft white light no longer glaring.

The audience began to quietly get up, tidy up their belongings, and whisper about the plot, gradually making their way to the exit.

Wei Zixian was still sitting.

The screen had gone dark, with only the production company's logo flashing at the very end.

He stared at the empty darkness, his eyes unfocused, as if he hadn't fully recovered from the story of that rainy night.

"That's all for today, Wei Xiaoxian." Lu Fangchi patted his shoulder, his voice tinged with laughter.

"How was it? Did you get bored and cry? You seemed pretty engrossed in the second half."

Wei Zixian came to his senses and looked at Lu Fangchi. His eyes were much clearer. Although he was still tired, he was no longer as chaotic as when he arrived.

He didn't speak, but simply shook his head slightly, turning his gaze to Bian Zhizhi.

Bian Zhizhi met his gaze, smiled at him, and asked softly.

"Young Master, shall we go straight back, or... go upstairs and get something to eat?"

Wei Zixian remained silent. His gaze lingered on her face for a long time before he finally spoke, "Eat something."

"Let's go upstairs and get something to eat," Bian Zhizhi said. "It's a Japanese restaurant; the environment is very quiet."
