The order in which disciples are accepted determines their status under the Dao Ancestor. The Three Pure Ones are direct disciples, Nuwa and Taiyi are outer disciples, Jieyin is merely a registered disciple, and the next level down are the Daoist children of Zixiao Palace.

Hongjun glanced at Hongyun and then explained, "Hongyun is also destined to be with me, but since you already have a master, I will not accept you as my disciple. If you have any questions about cultivation, you may visit the Zixiao Palace."
