Chapter 17, Kick the Gold Coin

Hongyun looked down and smiled brightly.

Jieyin had a conspicuous bruise on his face, the result of the stone, and he looked extremely disheveled.

When their eyes met, Hongyun heard the system's voice:

[Ding! 10,000 Rage Points have been credited to your account!]

Hongyun smiled even more broadly, then kicked the guide in the face, waiting for the system's voice to appear again.

The guide glared at him with a face full of anger and resentment, but the system's voice did not appear.

Hongyun was puzzled for a moment, then decided to try again.

One, two... a dozen or so

[Ding! 500 Rage Points have been credited to your account!]

How come you only got 500 points? Aren't you angry? You got beaten up and you're not angry?

Or does he actually have other plans?

It wasn't until I saw the bruises on his face that I remembered those dozen or so kicks hadn't caused any real damage. Could it be that he didn't use any magic, so it didn't hurt?

Hongyun smiled knowingly, took a step back, gathered his strength, and kicked out—launched!

"Ah~" Jieyin didn't even have time to use his internal energy to defend himself, because Hongyun's attacks had been harmless. But when he was suddenly struck hard, he was sent flying and crashed into a tree before falling to the ground.

Jieyin tried to get up, but fell down again and couldn't hold back any longer, spitting out a mouthful of blood with a "pfft".

[Ding! 10,000 Rage Points have been credited to your account!]

So that's how it's used!

You need magic power to kick out the gold coins!

Hongyun nodded knowingly, her eyes shining as she looked at Jieyin.

Jieyin sensed danger and tried to struggle away but to no avail. He cried out in terror, "You...you can't hit people!"

Who said you can't hit people? Anyway, no one told Hongyun that.

"This Longevity Mountain is Zhen Yuanzi's Daoist temple. You've already set fire to someone else's temple, and you still won't let us fight?" Hongyun said, and then...

This time, every action corresponded to a scream and a system notification sound, which made Hongyun very satisfied.

After kicking out a dozen more times, Hongyun finally stopped, exhausted. He used magic to seal the guiding power, then grabbed her by the back of the collar and flew back to Wuzhuang Temple.

Inside the Wuzhuang Temple, Zhen Yuanzi had already subdued Zhunti, but the soil under the ginseng fruit tree was noticeably loose, and the remaining dozen or so ginseng fruits had all been lost.

He tossed the mud-like Jieyin onto the ground and asked, "Zhenyuan, how are the fruit trees?"

Zhen Yuanzi's face was grim as he stared intently at the two thieves, Jieyin and Zhunti: "The tree roots are damaged, and its spiritual power has greatly leaked out!"

Hongyun quickly turned back to check on the fruit tree, and only breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that it was still alive. The ginseng fruit tree is one of the ten innate spiritual roots. As long as there is a chance of survival, the roots will grow back, and the spiritual energy will slowly recover.

[Ding! 10,000 Rage Points have been credited to your account!]

Zhunti saw the miserable state of Jieyin, whose arms seemed to hang down unnaturally, and was greatly annoyed, so he gave Hongyun another boost.

"What just happened?" Hongyun asked.

Zhen Yuanzi gritted his teeth: "When I came back, Mingyue and Qingfeng were both knocked unconscious, and this bastard was uprooting the ginseng fruit tree."

"Hand over the ginseng fruit!" Hongyun kicked Zhunti again.

Knowing he had no more authority to rely on, Zhunti resorted to feigning pitifulness: "There were no ginseng fruits; I didn't take a single one!"

"The West is simply too impoverished; there isn't a single innate spiritual root. This tree happens to be destined for me, and since I couldn't obtain it, I took this risk!"

"Cultivation is difficult for us Western beings, and magical treasures are scarce. If it weren't for this, why would I go against my conscience like this?"

Hongyun was really puzzled. Was the West that poor even before its spiritual veins were destroyed? He should take the opportunity to visit the home of Jieyin and Zhunti in the West and see just how poor they really were.
