Primordial Era: When a Good Guy Awakens a Morally Unethical System
Chapters 173 and 174, Slaying the Corpse Holding Me
Unable to ignore the gazes of Di Jun and Tai Yi, Fu Xi had no choice but to ask Hong Yun, "May Your Majesty and the Eastern Emperor enter together?"
"Please!" Zhen Yuanzi's expression was unfriendly, but he did not back down an inch. After all, the human race was created by Nuwa, and Fuxi had more say than them.
The Three Pure Ones simply watched the spectacle without saying a word. Now that the excitement was over, they returned to the human realm together.
Hongyun arranged for people to prepare accommodations for Dijun, Taiyi, and the others. Since they were there to observe, it would take time; they couldn't gain any insights overnight.
Soon after, the wonders of fate unfolded. Those destined for it all experienced enlightenment. Lao Tzu preached to humanity, and Yuan Shi and Tong Tian shared their expertise, teaching the human race and severing their own corpses. Those not destined for it pursued what they desired. For example, Di Jun returned to the Heavenly Court to strive for his goal of becoming the overlord of the primordial world, while Tai Yi went back to seclusion to cultivate, choosing to be grounded and practical.
Fuxi was the only exception. For some reason, he came to a realization and stopped pursuing sainthood and joining Nuwa's group. Instead, he went directly to the Thirty-Third Heaven. Who said you can't go to the Thirty-Third Heaven without becoming a saint? The Dao Ancestor said to close the Zixiao Palace and not to go out unless necessary, but he didn't say that Nuwa's Palace was off-limits!
As time went by, humans acquired more and more skills and began to develop a sense of territory.
First, a human named Feng Yunruo changed his name to Sui. Because he was the first to successfully obtain fire, he had many followers among the human race and also established a tribe called Suiming Kingdom. Now everyone calls him Suirenshi.
Then the establishment of other tribes stirred up internal strife among the human race. Hongyun felt extremely helpless watching this and knew that it was time for him to leave.
Humans are barely able to feed themselves, yet they're already vying for power. That's just human nature. No matter the circumstances, they're constantly fighting amongst themselves, even knowing their weakness compared to other races, they still strive to be kings and rulers within their own species.
Gradually, Hongyun entered a state of enlightenment, and the development of the human race from its inception to the present appeared before his eyes.
The scene then shifts to later records of human development, from Yao and Shun to the Xia and Shang dynasties, from the discovery of fire to the cultivation of hemp and mulberry trees, from the supreme human emperor to the supreme emperor. It shows the arduous struggle for survival and reproduction of humanity, ultimately leading to its subservience to the Heavenly Court, its fortune taken by the Heavenly Court, and the complete loss of its pride in standing on equal footing with other races.
Finally, Hongyun saw corpses strewn everywhere, and a high wall built of countless bones, his heart filled with turmoil. As he spat out a mouthful of blood, Zhiwo Shi appeared opposite him.
"Greetings, Fellow Daoist Hongyun," Zhiwoshi bowed respectfully.
Hongyun stared intently at her own corpse, as if she could see the passion and helplessness she felt when she was studying history.
From the moment his own corpse appeared, Hongyun saw his own path. Perhaps this was the meaning of his journey here; he had once been human, and even now, he still considered himself human. Now he saw the path a human should cultivate after arriving in the primordial world, and that path should be pursued without hesitation.
"My name is Hongri," Zhiwoshi introduced himself with a smile, then merged with the good and evil corpses he had previously severed, mobilizing the primordial purple energy within Hongyun's body.
The three corpses merge into one, proving the Dao of Hunyuan. By severing the three corpses and imbuing oneself with the Primordial Purple Qi, one becomes a Heavenly Dao Saint.
Hongyun was truly hesitant. If he were to attain the Primordial Chaos Realm, he might be able to leave the Primordial Purple Qi to Zhenyuanzi. However, the Heavenly Dao would not allow the existence of a Great Dao Saint, and he might not be able to succeed in attaining the Primordial Chaos Realm, and would even incur the wrath of the Heavenly Dao.
