Lu Yao was carried back to the room by Xie Linyu. The door closed behind them with a "click". He did not turn on the light, and the moonlight shone in through the French windows.

Xie Linyu gently placed Lu Yao on the soft bed.

The moonlight fell on his profile, casting a faint silvery-gray hue over him, and her image was clearly reflected in his deep blue eyes.

"Yaoyao," he called softly.

Lu Yao looked up at him, her heart pounding like thunder.

"Mmm." She responded softly, her voice sweet and gentle. Xie Linyu restrained himself and his Adam's apple bobbed.

He lowered his head and kissed her lips.

This kiss was different from the "disinfecting" kiss in the living room before; it lacked the urgency and possessiveness, and was more tender and lingering.

Lu Yao was dizzy from his kisses, and her hands unconsciously climbed up his shoulders, her fingertips clutching the fabric of his clothes.

After a long while, Xie Linyu stepped back slightly, his forehead touching hers, their breaths mingling.

Then he reached out and unbuttoned her clothes, then buried his face in hers.

The next morning, when Lu Yao woke up, the sheets beneath her had been changed. Thinking about what had happened the night before, Lu Yao blushed.

The door was gently pushed open.

Xie Linyu walked in and saw her ostrich-like appearance, a smile spreading across his eyes.

"Awake?" He sat down beside the bed, gently stroking her exposed hair. "Is anything bothering you?"

Lu Yao lifted her head from under the pillow and glared at him.

Those clear, black-and-white eyes still held a hint of moisture, and when they glared at someone, it wasn't intimidating at all; instead, it sounded like they were being coquettish.

Xie Linyu's eyes darkened, and he leaned down to kiss the corner of her lips.

"Yaoyao, were you satisfied with my service last night?" he asked in a low voice, his eyes full of expectation. "Between me and Fu Ciyan, who made you feel more comfortable?"

Lu Yao was slightly taken aback, and her cheeks instantly burned.

"W-what did you say!" She turned her head away, not daring to look at him, her voice trembling and still hoarse from just waking up, "I won't answer those kinds of questions."

Xie Linyu, however, persisted, gently cupping her face in his hands and turning her gaze back to him, forcing her to look at him.

"Yaoyao," he called to her, "I want to know."

Lu Yao glared at him, feeling both ashamed and annoyed.

This guy asked such an embarrassing question first thing in the morning, he did it on purpose!

"Fu Ciyan." Not wanting him to be smug, Lu Yao deliberately said this.

Xie Linyu's smile froze instantly, and the expectant light in his deep blue eyes dimmed visibly.

"...Really?" His voice was a little dry, as if he didn't want to believe what he had heard.

Looking at him like this, Lu Yao's mischievous pleasure was instantly replaced by her soft heart.

She couldn't help but smile, cup his face in her hands, and lean in to kiss him on the corner of his lips.

"I was just kidding," she said softly, her eyes full of laughter. "You two are different; I can't compare you."

Xie Linyu was stunned for a moment, then realized that he had been tricked.

"Fine, you lied to me!" he growled, making a move to hug Lu Yao tightly, but his face showed no anger whatsoever; instead, he smiled exceptionally brightly. "Then tell me, how are we different?"

Lu Yao bit her lower lip, blushing as she muttered softly, "Yeah, it feels different."

She paused, her voice trailing off: "He's more... more direct. You're more torturous."

Xie Linyu paused slightly after hearing this, then a smile spread across his eyes.

"Troublesome?" He repeated the word, a hint of amusement in his voice. "Is it the good kind or the bad kind?"

Lu Yao glared at him: "What do you think?"

Xie Linyu laughed out loud and leaned down to give her a hard kiss on the lips.

"That's good." He said contentedly, pulling her into his arms and gently squeezing her. "Consider it a compliment on my stamina."

"That's not what I meant!" Lu Yao said, blushing and hitting him repeatedly.

Xie Linyu laughed as she punched him, then released his grip after a while and looked at her seriously: "Compared to him, am I not bad either?"

Lu Yao met his suddenly serious blue eyes, blushed, and nodded.

"You're not bad," she whispered. "You're no worse than anyone else."

"You're so sweet, Yaoyao," he said softly, pulling her closer. "I've prepared a dress for you to wear to the launch ceremony of the 'Starlight Project' tonight. Try it on later."

Upon hearing the word "formal dress," Lu Yao's body stiffened.

"What's wrong?" Xie Linyu keenly noticed her change and looked down at her.

Lu Yao stepped out of his embrace and looked down at her slightly protruding belly.

Beneath the loose pajamas, a slight bulge could be seen; though small, it was different from its former flatness.

"Won't people notice if I'm wearing a formal dress?" She pursed her lips, a hint of hesitation in her eyes.

Xie Linyu smiled and hugged her from behind, gently placing his hand on her lower abdomen: "Don't worry, the dress I chose has a high waistline design, which can perfectly cover your belly. In addition, the fabric is very soft and drapey, so it won't cling to your body and you won't be able to tell."

Clearly, he had considered this when he was preparing, and this thoughtfulness warmed Lu Yao's heart instantly.

"Where's the dress?" she asked.

Xie Linyu chuckled softly and pulled her back into his arms: "Change here, I'll help you."

Lu Yao blushed instantly: "No need, I can manage myself..."

"I want to help!" Xie Linyu interrupted her, his blue eyes filled with tender expectation. "Let me help you, okay?"

Lu Yao met his smiling eyes, her heart skipped a beat, and she finally nodded with a blush.

Xie Linyu smiled with satisfaction and gently untied the ribbons of her pajamas.

The soft fabric slipped off her shoulders, revealing her fair skin and the faint traces left from last night.

His gaze lingered on the red mark for a moment, his eyes darkening, but he said nothing. He simply picked up the dress and carefully helped her put it on.

The skirt slid down her body, softly hugging her curves.

Xie Linyu walked around behind her and slowly zipped up the zipper on her back.

"Alright." He gently patted her back and led her to the dressing mirror. At the same time, his gaze also fell on Lu Yao in the mirror.
