Chapter 175: Xie Linyu's story comes to a perfect end.

As night fell, Lu Yao, who hadn't done anything wrong yet, felt as if her heart was about to jump out of her chest. She lay next to Fu Ciyan, barely daring to breathe heavily, afraid that he would discover she was still awake.

Fu Ciyan, who was beside him, was breathing evenly and seemed to be fast asleep.

Lu Yao quietly opened her eyes and, using the moonlight streaming in from the window, looked at Fu Ciyan's profile.

With well-defined features and high brow bones, he exudes a cool and aloof air even when asleep.

She pursed her lips, suddenly feeling a little guilty. She leaned over and carefully placed a kiss between his brows, silently apologizing.

Despite having an open and aboveboard relationship, she secretly sneaks into another man's room.

She carefully lifted the blanket, her movements as light as a thief's.

The moment her feet touched the floor, she heard the sound of someone turning over behind her. Lu Yao immediately froze, holding her breath until the sound disappeared.

Lu Yao glanced back at Fu Ciyan, who was sleeping with his back to her, and her tense nerves relaxed a little.

She stood up quietly, her bare feet touching the floor, afraid of making the slightest sound.

One step, two steps, three steps...

Finally reaching the door, just as her hand touched the doorknob, she heard a very soft call from behind: "Yaoyao".

Lu Yao was frozen in place, as if she had been immobilized.

It’s over.

They were caught red-handed.

She turned her head stiffly. In the moonlight, Fu Ciyan had already sat up at some point and was leaning against the headboard, looking at her.

Those deep black eyes were clear and lucid, devoid of the drowsiness of just waking up.

Clearly, he had been awake all along; everything that had just happened was a pretense.

"I..." Lu Yao opened her mouth, wanting to explain something, but found that her mind was blank.

Fu Ciyan looked at her guilty expression and the corners of his lips curved slightly.

"To his room?" He asked calmly, his tone devoid of emotion.

Lu Yao bit her lower lip and nodded.

"Mmm," she replied softly, "This is his way of making amends—by declining the banquet..."

Fu Ciyan looked at her nervous appearance and a faint smile appeared in his eyes.

"Go ahead." Without asking her to explain, Fu Ciyan gave her permission directly.

Lu Yao was stunned: "You're not angry?"

Fu Ciyan threw off the covers, got out of bed, walked up to her, and pulled her into his arms.

"Yesterday was my fault," he said softly. "It took up his time, and he should want to make up for it."

Lu Yao leaned against him, her nose filled with his refreshing scent, and the slight panic in her heart was soothed by Fu Ciyan's words.

"But..." She was about to say something, but was interrupted by Fu Ciyan.

"Go ahead." He released her hand, lowered his head, and kissed her forehead. "Don't keep him waiting too long."

Lu Yao looked up at him; in the moonlight, the man's dark eyes were incredibly gentle.

"Shall I go?" she asked tentatively.

Fu Ciyan nodded.

Lu Yao turned around, put her hand on the doorknob, and glanced back at him.

Fu Ciyan stood there, the moonlight casting a long shadow of him. He smiled slightly and gazed at her tenderly.

Lu Yao bit her lower lip, then suddenly turned around, stood on tiptoe, and planted a kiss on his lips.

"You should get some rest," she said softly.

Then he opened the door and slipped out.

Fu Ciyan stood there, watching the door close again. The smile in his dark eyes gradually disappeared. He wasn't actually that magnanimous. Even if he magnanimously let Lu Yao leave, he would still make her think of him in her heart.

*

The door to Xie Linyu's room across the hall was ajar, clearly he was waiting for her.

Lu Yao stood in front of Xie Linyu's door, her hand on the doorknob, and took a deep breath.

It was a perfectly legitimate relationship, but these two men made it seem like they were having an affair.

She gently pushed open the door. The room was lit only by a dim bedside lamp, casting an ambiguous light.

Xie Linyu wasn't wearing pajamas; he was half-naked, leaning against the headboard with a book in his hand. He looked up when he heard the noise.

A smile appeared in his blue eyes: "You've arrived?"

He put down his book and reached out his hand to her.

Lu Yao closed the door, walked over, and placed her hand in his palm.

Xie Linyu gently pulled her into his arms.

"Have you been waiting long?" Lu Yao leaned against his chest, listening to his strong heartbeat.

"Hmm." Xie Linyu lowered his head and pressed his forehead against hers. "Is he awake?"

Lu Yao was slightly taken aback when he asked Fu Ciyan about it, but still nodded honestly: "He's awake. He asked me to come over."

Xie Linyu wasn't surprised, he just snorted and couldn't help but think to himself, "He's good at playing the good guy!"

Without saying much, Xie Linyu lowered his head and kissed Lu Yao's lips deeply.

Lu Yao was a little breathless from his kiss, and her hands unconsciously climbed up his shoulders, her fingertips tugging at his hair.

After a long while, he stepped back slightly, his forehead touching hers, their breaths mingling.

His gaze slowly moved down from her eyes and landed on her thin, almost transparent nightgown.

Moonlight streamed in through the gaps in the curtains, outlining her figure indistinctly.

Xie Linyu's Adam's apple bobbed slightly, though he tried to control himself.

"Yaoyao," he called to her hoarsely, "Do you know what to do next?"

Lu Yao's heart tightened slightly.

Of course she knew that she was no longer a blank slate who knew nothing.

Besides, his request that afternoon included this light nightgown; how could she not understand his meaning?

But now that he asked her so bluntly, she was still incredibly embarrassed and nodded with her eyes down.

Xie Linyu chuckled softly, his fingertips gently hooking the thin strap on her shoulder.

"Then tell me," he said, his lips brushing against her ear, his warm breath caressing her sensitive skin, "what do you want to do?"

Lu Yao's body trembled slightly.

"I won't say anything, Xie Linyu. If you don't do it, I'm going back." She bit her lower lip, reached out and gently pushed Xie Linyu's body, like a kitten showing its claws in dissatisfaction.

Xie Linyu laughed out loud, a pleasant vibration coming from his chest.

"Who says I won't?" Xie Linyu grasped Lu Yao's hand and held it tightly in his palm. "Yao Yao, you have no idea how long I've waited for this day. Tonight, let me serve you properly."

Xie Linyu lowered his head, and his warm lips gently touched her heart.

Lu Yao's body trembled slightly, and she unconsciously wrapped her arms around him.

"Yaoyao," he whispered, his lips brushing against her skin, his voice husky and tender, "Your heart is beating so fast."

Lu Yao bit her lower lip and remained silent.

She knew, of course, how fast her heart was beating, as if it were about to burst out of her chest.

Xie Linyu's lips slowly moved down along her heart, and Lu Yao's breathing became rapid. Her fingers unconsciously ran through his hair and gently tugged at it.

"Xie Linyu..." she called softly, her voice gentle and sweet.

Xie Linyu raised his head, and in the moonlight, his deep blue eyes churned with undisguised longing and tenderness, captivating all who beheld them.
