Chapter 26 Toy Store

Seeing Talibor's miserable state, what could York say? He simply waved his hand.

"Okay, I'll save room for later."

Upon receiving a response, Talibo's miserable expression vanished instantly, and he smiled as he raised his right hand and waved it like he was shooing away a fly.

"Get to work!"

"I curse you to have nightmares tonight!" York said viciously, then turned and left with Gino, who was as invisible as a ghost.

Behind them, Talibor watched the two Yorkists disappear and spat softly.

"With a wife and kids, I won't have nightmares!"

But as if he had thought of something, Talibo couldn't help but shudder and curse inwardly.

"F***, why do I keep thinking about it? Forget it! Forget it now!"

-

Inside the black and white painted Chevrolet Caprice.

Gino fastened his seatbelt and looked at York in the driver's seat.

"I really didn't expect a patrol officer's day to be so colorful!"

Yorke fastened his seatbelt, glanced at Gino who was suddenly lost in thought, and picked up the walkie-talkie connected to the radio.

"So you regret it?"

"That's not it," Gino said.

"Now I understand why you like being a patrol officer. Considering your personality, you might appear to be a law-abiding and mature person, but actually enjoy excitement, right?"

"I think you could consider changing your career," Yorke said.

Gino asked curiously, "What's your profession?"

"Psychiatrist," York replied casually, ignoring Gino's expression as he pressed the intercom button.

"10-A-11, resume patrol."

"receive!"

"."

Upon hearing the dispatch center's response, York ignored Gino and started the Chevrolet Caprice, slowly driving towards the exit.

In fact, having only two cases is not the busiest time.

When things are busy, there are at least seven or eight cases a day.

If something is missing, call 911. If someone is arguing, call 911. If someone is robbed, call 911. If someone is injured, call 911. If something in the house is misplaced, call 911.

Call 911 for everything.

If these tasks were broken down and assigned to the patrol department, they would keep the entire department spinning like tops all day long. He once helped an elderly person living alone find their cat, and he was sweating profusely from the search.

This is a true story.

Only Gino, a rich kid who was just trying to experience life, felt that having two cases on his hands in one day was too many.

Strangely, after completing the second case, today was unusually peaceful. He patrolled around with Gino, and the radio was quiet, with no alarms sounding at all.

As a result, there were only two cases a day.

Moreover, this situation is quite rare.

"Is it because of this guy?" Yorks looked at Gino, who was beaming with joy because he was off work, with a very unpleasant expression.

His current method of earning attribute points requires a qualitative change in quantity to obtain rewards, even something as simple as finding a cat.

Two cases are really too few for him.

"Huh?" Gino sensed the murderous aura and looked at York with suspicion.

But Yorke had already unbuckled his seatbelt and gotten out of the car.

"Is it just my imagination? York seems really angry?" Gino thought to himself, feeling uneasy, but he still got out of the car.

Seeing that Yorke had already walked quite a distance, Gino could only suppress his uneasy feeling and call out.

"Wait for me, Yorke!"

"."

Register everything that should be left at the police station and leave it there.

Yorke took Gino out of the police station; for some reason, Gino was being very clingy lately.

"It's only four o'clock now." Gino glanced at the luxury watch on his wrist, then looked at York beside him.

"Help me train my shooting skills before you go to the banquet?"

Since he was there when Talibor invited him, he naturally knew about Yorke's activities that evening.

Yorks didn't stop and decisively refused: "Go by yourself. Anyway, I've already made a copy of the key to the shooting range for you."

Gino paused, looked at York, spread his hands, and shouted, "Where are you going now? You have to at least make my thousand-dollar tuition fee worthwhile, right?"

Yorke stopped in front of the driver's side door of his Fl50 Raptor and shrugged at Gino, who was standing there.

"What you need most right now is practice. You've heard the saying, 'Practice makes perfect.'"

Gino interjected, "You once told me that you don't know why you are so familiar with Chinese language and literature."

"So just keep using the Glock 17 for target practice, as long as you can, and practice the gun-drawing techniques I taught you repeatedly."

After saying that, Yorke opened the car door, got in, leaving Gino looking helpless, and drove off.

In reality, what he was going to do was simply buy a gift for Talibor's daughter, Leila.

No matter where you are, especially in the free United States, it is impolite to arrive empty-handed.

Although, given his relationship with the Talibor family, he didn't need to resort to such tactics.

But having once taken care of two young children in his family, he knew the importance of gifts.

In the words of his sister Lillian, "Without gifts, you're not even human; they don't even see you."

So, to gain a child's trust, there's only one step: give them a gift.

It's safe to say that uncles who bring gifts when they visit are the most popular with children.

York drove his Fl50 Raptor to a nearby toy store and parked on the street. He got out of the car.

It was four o'clock at the time.

There were still many pedestrians leaving get off work at the usual time.

The free and independent United States has done a very good job in this regard.

Yorke glanced at the diverse crowd of pedestrians and then walked into the toy store.

Like any other store, the cashier is located right next to the door.

The owner inside was a middle-aged man. He was sitting inside playing on his phone. When he saw York come in, he just glanced at York and didn't even say anything to greet him.

York was used to this. He stood still, glanced around, and then walked into the doll area on his own.

Girls love playing house, whether it's his sister Lillian or Leila, who calls him Uncle Yorks so sweetly and cutely, they all have a princess-like fantasy.

Therefore, a princess doll is the best gift.

Which one should we choose?

York stopped in front of the shelf full of dolls, momentarily at a loss.

There were so many dolls on display, a dazzling array, each wearing a different style and color of princess dress. I didn't know which one to choose.

"Whatever."

York chuckled, speechless at his own hesitation. He reached out and picked up a doll that looked exquisite, then looked at the shelf on the other side filled with playhouse kitchen toys, and walked over.

Dolls paired with pretend play toys are a perfect match; Yorke can already imagine Leila's surprised screams.

Just then, sensing something, Yorke stopped abruptly and instinctively looked at the doorway that had been pushed open.

Two small, thin Black men wearing hoodies, hats, and masks pushed open the door and appeared before him.
