Chapter 37 Doing Whatever You Want

"How did you get here?" This phrase conveys a sense of innocence. Generally, a mature man wouldn't use the word "la," nor would his voice sound so childish.

But Yorke spoke gently to the man sitting blankly in front of the bar.

"Something happened, so I'm leaving get off work early."

Then he looked at the two people inside with different expressions and laughed.

"Can't I come over?"

The female employee at the bar, Talia, and the middle-aged man, Germain, are actually a real couple.

The two run the coffee shop together.

The couple called the police to report a robbery, and he, who was nearby, took over the case. During the investigation and registration process, they gradually became acquainted.

"York, did you come to see Rem?"

Yorke adjusted the stool for him, straightening his posture, then looked somewhat apologetically at the middle-aged man, Germain, standing behind the bar:

"How was it? I hope I didn't cause you any trouble?" he said, glancing at Talia.

He was the one who introduced Rem, so naturally he was worried about bringing trouble and burden to her.

Since Rem's mental level is only about eight years old, it can be considered that her mental level is similar to that of a small child.

If Rem were only like this, he could probably place her in a well-equipped welfare institution.

"Rem, I'll be waiting for you over there."

Rem nodded blankly. When she saw Yorke get up and walk over, she thought about getting up and following him, but was stopped by Germain.

"Wait a minute, Rem, Yorke is our customer now. You'll need to get him some coffee and snacks later."

Rem asked, "Is York our guest now?"

"Yes, he is our guest now."

Germain smiled and nodded, and only after seeing Rem stop in place again did he begin to busy himself with his wife, Talia.

Yorke, who was already seated, witnessed the entire process and couldn't help but let out a soft sigh of relief.

Orja walked down the corridor with a document in his hand, nodding to the passing police officers before turning the corner and arriving at the door of an office.

Within the entire West Canyon Police Department, his position was considered quite high, but there was a police inspector above him.

Orja stopped in front of the office door and knocked lightly. After hearing the sound of someone coming in, he turned the handle, opened the door, and pushed it in.

The office, though small, was fully equipped. There was a window facing the door, and next to the window was a bookshelf displaying various books and documents. Moving to the other side, there was a desk and chair, where a middle-aged woman, probably in her forties, was sitting.

He was wearing a uniform, and the insignia on his collar indicated the rank of police superintendent.

"Olha, is something wrong?" the middle-aged woman asked in surprise.

"Inspector Star." Orha walked up with the documents and placed them on the table.

"This is the mission report from Officer Yorke and Officer Gino."

Star exclaimed in surprise, then suddenly realized, "Is it an assistance mission from the Anti-Drug and Narcotics Division?"

As she spoke, she asked curiously, "It seems Officer York has done something big again."

Orha gestured to the files on the desktop and said, "Take a look at them first."

Starr raised an eyebrow, reached for the report on the table and began to read it, soon clicking his tongue in disapproval.

"A brilliant record, just an auxiliary mission, and our dear Officer Yorke has taken down four more people."

"Inspector Star, given this, for the sake of our officers' mental and physical well-being, we need to mandate psychological counseling for them," Orha interjected earnestly.

"Psychological counseling work?" Sta stopped watching and looked up at Orha.

"As long as there are no problems with the Anti-Drug Division, Officer Yorke will be fine."

Orha stepped forward and said, "Inspector Star, what I mean is that Officer Gino has just started his job, and I think he really needs psychological counseling."

Star closed the file and said calmly, "Okay."
