Chapter 92 BAU

After leaving the police station, Yorke got back into the Explorer patrol car and glanced at the time on the police computer.

After all that fuss, it was already past eleven o'clock, almost midnight.

Looking at Gino, who was fastening his seatbelt, York could see that the guy's eyes were showing signs of fatigue. Specifically, his eyes, which were originally quite bright, were now somewhat numb and lacked light.

Clearly, these three consecutive police incidents had taken a toll on him.

Yorke smiled, a hint of schadenfreude in his expression, as if others' suffering was a form of joy: "Any new thoughts on night shifts now?"

Gino understood what Yorkes meant and complained bitterly, "During the daytime, there are at most one or two incidents, but now, before the patrol time is even over, we've already received three reports."

I've been wondering how Taliban managed to get through that day, which he described as happening twenty-four times.

Yorke simply replied, "He threw up from dry hemorrhage."

Then pick up the walkie-talkie:

"10-A-11, resume patrol."

"receive!"

"."

Patrol is patrol, but whether Gino was lucky or unlucky, after the burglary, things were mostly peaceful.

By 2:30 a.m., their patrol mission was over. They only needed to rest for a while at the West Canyon Police Station before they could go home.

On his first night mentoring the new recruits, Yorke didn't get any police missions that would allow him to be released, although he was lucky enough to get 0.5 usable attribute points.

It was 4:30 a.m.

Yorks, with a mix of regret and relief, bid farewell to the exhausted Gino and continued on to the firing range to complete his daily target practice.

With his current physical condition, he has reached the point where he can stay up all day and night without feeling tired.

Therefore, Yorke would not miss any opportunity to shoot.

Six o'clock in the morning.

After leaving the shooting range, Yorke returned home, had a quick breakfast, and then went to the gym he had set up for his daily workout.

This is perhaps the advantage of having a large house; he combined two huge rooms and transformed them into a real gym.

All kinds of fitness equipment that you can name are available here.

If categorized, there are aerobic fitness equipment such as treadmills, strength training equipment such as dumbbells and barbells, functional training equipment such as the TRX suspension training system, and some related auxiliary equipment, etc.

It has everything you could want.

Most importantly, he also hung some punching bags and sandbags here so he could do regular training such as boxing.

York looked at the pile of equipment and walked in calmly. His skills were not given to him by the system, but were earned through hard work. You could say he was a hardcore gamer during that period, and now it has become a habit.

Of course, this doesn't mean the system is completely useless. At least the system removes the talent option and gives him the big bug that hard work will inevitably be rewarded.

Seven o'clock in the morning.

Yorke walked out of the gym, covered in sweat, and headed towards the shower room.

Nine o'clock in the morning.

After finishing his business, Yorke lay down on the comfortable bed and closed his eyes.

When he opened his eyes again this time, it was already past four in the afternoon.

I habitually picked up my phone and glanced at it; thankfully, nothing was wrong.

Only through a certain messaging app did Tifa send him a few selfies. Of course, besides Tifa, there were also private messages from his younger sister Lillian and his younger brother Fol.

Lillian's private message was simply a reminder to her older brother how many days were left before her school started.

What's outrageous is that Lillian reminds him every day, as if afraid he'll forget.

York shook his head and casually sent a message: "I remember the time." Then he looked at the private message sent by For.

"York, are you free tonight?"

Yorke raised an eyebrow slightly; from this sentence, he roughly knew what Fell was all about.

"I work the night shift, I don't have time."

After Yorke replied, he scrolled through Fore's private chat interface and continued looking at the selfie that Tifa had sent him. The elegant suit suited her better than her previous doctor's uniform.

The lanyard around her neck indicated that she was wearing a name tag that symbolized her identity.

After looking at several pictures, York had more questions and curiosity in his mind. According to his previous thinking, Tifa and Quantico, Virginia, had nothing to do with each other.

No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't figure out what kind of academic exchange Tiffany, the psychologist, was doing in Quantico, Virginia, since the two were completely unrelated.

"When are you coming back?"

York didn't ask Tifa what she was doing there, but instead typed in the sentence above.

He thought it might take a while for Tifa to reply, but before he could even get up and figure out how to solve dinner, Tifa replied.

She said she wasn't sure and had to wait until her analysis was finished.

"Hmm? Analysis work?"

Looking at the private chat interface on his phone screen, York suddenly had a few ideas. He did a quick online search and eventually found some organizations related to psychology.

One department stands out the most.

The Behavioural Analysis Unit (BAU) of the FBI.

It is a department that verifies the feasibility of handling complex cases and cases where the suspect's psychology is sensitive, based on investigations of the suspect's behavior and experience and research on the case.

Simply put, it's the department that studies and analyzes the psychology of criminal suspects and conducts psychological profiling.

And this department happens to be located in Quantico, Virginia.

"What has she been doing lately?" Yorks remained silent as he looked at the information he had found online.

Although it may not necessarily be this BAU department, this department is somewhat related to Tifa's work and the work he will be doing in the future.

After all, he was destined to be promoted to the detective department and investigate various cases.

More importantly, Tifa is indeed capable, not only in the study of patients' psychology, but also in the study of criminal suspects' psychology, i.e., criminal psychology. His previous analysis of the apartment serial murder case was actually influenced by Tifa, giving him a different perspective and analysis.

"Okay, let me know when you get back, and I'll pick you up from the airport."

York chuckled silently, typed in the message, tossed his phone aside, got up, and headed to the bathroom.

By the time he finished his daily brushing of his teeth, washing of his face, and showering, almost half an hour had passed.

"What should we have for dinner tonight? Scrambled eggs with tomatoes? Or stir-fried shredded pork with green peppers?"

As Yorke left the house and headed to the garage to get into the driver's seat of the F150 Raptor, he still hadn't decided what to eat.

The hardest part of cooking for yourself is the first step: what to eat? And he has no clue yet.

"Let's go to the supermarket first." York pushed the lever and stepped on the gas, driving towards the exit where the curtains had already risen automatically.
