North American Patrol: American Iaido

Chapter 96 Wanted Criminal

Chapter 96 Wanted Criminal

Upon hearing this, Gino remained silent for a moment, but then he recalled the days he had spent partnering with Yorke.

Thinking about it carefully, it seems to be just as this officer said; he had only been on the job for a few days and had already experienced a total of eleven incidents.

Three of these cases involved shootings, including encounters with two serial killers whose stories are chilling to recall, a PIT incident, witnessing a decomposing corpse, and a home invasion robbery where the suspect had a criminal record and was armed.

Looking back now, Gino feels like it's from another world; it seems he really did experience a lot of terrifying events.

He has only worked six days in total.

More importantly, he had a strange feeling that these incidents were not something a rookie police officer who had just started his internship could possibly encounter.

After all, he had heard his contemporary Valeria talk about a day in the life of a patrol officer and his own experiences.

It seems that all she does in a day is issue parking tickets, resolve so-called neighbor disputes, and help others find things.

Seemingly sensing the change in Gino's eyes and his bewildered expression, 10-A-9: Marcos and his partner Sonny, and 10-A-5: Onte and his partner Omai, the four of them exchanged glances, seeing that Gino had long since lost any intention of training him, and instead showed pitiful eyes.

Just then, a large figure appeared, attracting their attention. York, fully armed, leaned against the cabinet in front of him and knocked on the cabinet wall, making a sound.

"Aren't you going to the regular meeting? Davos notified you a while ago, didn't he?"

Before starting work, Davos, the night shift commander, had already notified everyone to come for a routine meeting, as if there really was something or some task to be assigned.

"Oh right!" The four of them seemed to wake up and left Gino's side one after another. Onte, who was at the back, seemed a little reluctant and patted Gino's shoulder.

"Keep it up, kid. As long as you can pull through, I believe you'll become a really great cop."

York's eyebrows twitched a few times as he looked at Onte. "What are you saying, making me sound like some kind of great demon king!"

"Hehe, haha! York, we'll head over first." Onte chuckled dryly and quickly followed his partner, leaving the locker room under York's watchful eye and heading to the briefing room where the West Canyon Police Department's patrol officers usually held their routine meetings.

Gino also came to his senses at this moment and looked at him. York didn't say anything. Anyway, he just wanted to do his best to protect this kid. With his current abilities, it wouldn't be difficult to protect one person unless he died first. He just turned around and walked towards the entrance.

"Let's go."

Hearing these emotionless words, Gino took a deep breath, composed himself, and quickly caught up with Yorke.

......................................................

It was the same briefing room.

The number of people is roughly the same as during the day shift.

They were the last to arrive, but in the end, no one dared to sit in his place, because no one could withstand his heavy blows.

Here, strength reigns supreme, and the strongest are the last to arrive.

The back seat was empty, reserved for Marcos and his three companions, as well as Yorke.

As for Gino, he seemed a little uneasy under everyone's gaze, because there were no colleagues of his in this briefing room, and he also felt a bit of pressure from the sudden focus of attention on him.

Just as Gino was wondering where to go, Yorke's voice rang out.

"What are you standing there for? Come here!"

Gino paused, then looked at Yorke, who was already sitting down in that familiar corner.

York was sitting there when, without anyone noticing, a stool appeared next to him.

"You can sit next to me."

Hearing Yorke's words, Gino felt a warmth in his heart. He was indeed the warm older brother he remembered from his childhood.

Gino nodded and walked over quickly. At the same time, he could feel that all the gazes focused on him had changed, and the strange pressure had unconsciously lessened.

When they sat down next to Yorke, almost no one turned to look at them. Only Marcos, who had chatted with him in the locker room, his partner, and even Onte and his partner Omar were all giving him winks and jeers.

Gino smiled and whispered to York, who looked bored and was resting his chin on his hand on the table.

"Thanks, Yorke."

Yorke glanced at him: "Call me sir here."

Gino stepped forward: "Yes, sir!"

At that moment, he wanted to say something, but the sound of footsteps beside him made him shut his mouth.

A thin, middle-aged man wearing a uniform that signifies a police superintendent appeared at the door and walked in, unlike the duty commander in Orha whom he had seen before.

The night shift commander he was meeting for the first time had a refined face and a gentle demeanor. He walked up to the platform, stood still, and spoke softly.

Good evening, everyone.

Gino instinctively called out, "Good evening, sir!"

However, his voice was the loudest, as if he were the only one shouting in the entire briefing room.

Gino visibly stiffened, as if he could sense the smiles on the faces of the people there.

Fortunately, the duty commander on the high platform broke the sudden, deathly silence: "Heh heh, this must be York's partner and trainee, Officer Gino, right?"

Upon hearing this, Gino could only step forward and reply, "Yes, sir!"

"Not bad." Davos nodded with a smile of satisfaction.

"It's commendable that you were able to switch to the night shift after only a few days of day shift work."

When trainee police officers are about to transfer to the night shift before completing their one-month internship, they actually have the right to choose. The fact that this trainee is here indicates that he has agreed to transfer to the night shift with his instructor.

Davos then looked at York: "York, you must protect our future star."

Yorke glanced at Gino, whose face was filled with embarrassment, and casually replied, "Yes, sir!"

Davos nodded and glanced at the people sitting below: "I didn't call you all here for anything important."

As he spoke, he stepped down from the stage and distributed the documents to the patrol officers in various units. Finally, he stopped at the table in front of York and said calmly, "A citywide wanted notice issued by Detective Georges of the Police Department: Manny Heisenberg, age 26."

Yorke picked up the document on the table and frowned slightly as he looked at the portrait on it.

This is a buzz cut with three lines on the sides, a thick beard that covers the philtrum, and eyes as sinister as a venomous snake, making people keep their distance and easily tell that this guy doesn't look like a good person.

"This man previously served six years in prison for attempted murder with a baseball bat, resulting in serious injury. Now, after his release, he is suspected of shooting an innocent stranger in the street," Davos said calmly, smiling at Gino as he turned and walked back towards the platform.

"Therefore, the suspect may be carrying a weapon, which is very dangerous. According to the detective department's intelligence, this person was driving an eighth-generation Impala from 2000 to 20005, with California license plates, license plate number 5jwf985."

Davos stood in the center below the platform, glanced around, and looked at the patrol officers who were already reading documents.

"Therefore, we will pay special attention to this vehicle during our patrol tonight."

"Wherever the car is, Manny Heisenberg is likely there too. Whoever catches him will get a hug from me."

At this point, Davos clearly saw the disdainful looks from the patrol officers, and added with a shrug.

"Of course, besides my hug, there's also the Super Bowl holiday on Sunday!"

Cheers erupted as soon as he said that.

"Don't anyone try to take this from me!"

"."

Seeing this scene, Davos subconsciously glanced at York, who seemed calm and unimpressed with the reward, then clapped his hands to temporarily calm the situation: "Alright, that's all I have to say. Be careful when you're out on patrol."

While Manny Heisenberg's situation is important, none of it is as important as your own lives. Whoever finds the car first, please remember to call for help for your own safety. Of course, I will be monitoring the situation closely; I will always be there for you.

"Yes, sir!" the crowd responded in scattered replies.

Davos nodded in satisfaction, then turned and left the briefing room, disappearing from everyone's sight.

As he left, the patrol officers in the briefing room began to get up one after another, preparing to go to work.

"York." Ont stood up with his partner and called out to York, who was still standing.

Yorkes looked away from the documents and followed the sound to see Ang and the others standing there.

"I remember!" Onte made a phone call gesture.

"Honestly, we all want a vacation!"

Damn it! How can these guys be so sure he'll run into Manny Heisenberg? That's pure prejudice against him! Yorke gave the international hand gesture to the group of old foxes.

"Ha ha!"

Ang and the others smiled, not caring at all, walked over and patted Gino on the shoulder, and then left the briefing room.

This barrage of slaps made Gino wince; these guys were pretty heavy-handed!

Yorke folded the document, put it in his breast pocket, and then stood up.

"Let's go, it's time for us to go to work."

Gino replied, "Yes, sir!" as always, keeping up with Yorke, but through tonight's events, he had a deeper understanding of Yorke's career as a patrol officer.

In short, everyone at the West Canyon Police Department seemed to respect Yorke, whether they were patrol officers, administrative staff, or superintendents.

................................................

It was still the same Explorer patrol car. Gino was already getting used to the preparations. He could put away all the equipment, including the advanced walkie-talkie, handcuffs, pepper spray, pens and notebooks, stun gun, high-voltage baton, high-powered flashlight, disposable gloves, police folding knife, and so on.

I've even started to get used to this tedious feeling.

He put the M4 rifle in the trunk, watched as Yorke got into the driver's seat, and shut his mouth, which had been about to start driving.

He closed the trunk, took the M870 shotgun, strode to the passenger seat, opened the door, got in, and placed the M870 shotgun in the middle latch before speaking.

"Sir, I'm ready!"

York's lips twitched slightly. Why did this kid seem so energetic now?

But he didn't say anything, afraid of dampening the kid's enthusiasm. He picked up the walkie-talkie connected to the radio, pressed the relevant button, and calmly said...

"10-A-11, commence patrol."

"receive!"

Upon hearing the dispatch center's reply, Yorke pushed the lever, stepped on the gas, and started the Explorer patrol car, heading towards the entrance/exit.

The second night shift starts now.
