Sun Wukong grinned:

"Alright."

"Since the senior says he's a good person, then I, Old Sun, will protect him well."

"Protect his horse too!"

Kong Xuan nodded slightly.

Beside the stream.

Xuanzang mounted his horse.

The white horse neighed loudly, its four hooves pounding the ground as it galloped away along the mountain stream.

A mountain breeze caressed my face, and my clothes fluttered in the wind.

Xuanzang sat on his horse, gazing at the approaching mountains ahead.

A feeling of unprecedented joy welled up inside me.

He finally has company.

Finally, I don't have to walk alone anymore.

Although it was just a horse, it was still a companion.

He put his hands together in prayer position:

"Amitabha."

"Thank you, Buddha."

Behind him, in the void.

Sun Wukong watched the departing figure and scratched his head:

"Senior, shall we follow them?"

Kong Xuan nodded:

"Follow them."

"There's a demonic aura ahead."

Sun Wukong's eyes lit up:

"Is there a monster?"

"Then I, Old Sun, must stretch my muscles!"

He rubbed his hands together, his eyes filled with excitement.

Kong Xuan looked at him, a slight smile playing on her lips:

"No rush."

"Let him go first."

"Wait until the monster shows itself before you make your move."

Sun Wukong grinned:

"Okay!"

"I, Old Sun, am just waiting!"

Two figures disappeared into the void.

In front.

The white horse carried Xuanzang, running faster and faster.

As the mountains deepened, the sky grew darker.

far away.

On a steep mountain peak.

A dark figure silently appeared.

The dark figure gazed at the white figure speeding down the mountain.

A glint of greed flashed in his eyes.

"The pilgrim..."

"Jin Chanzi..."

"Eat his flesh, and you'll live forever..."

The shadowy figure licked its lips.

With a flicker, he disappeared from the mountaintop.

Twilight Quadruple.

The journey westward has just begun.

......

The mountain wind is getting colder.

The white horse carried Xuanzang swiftly along the mountain path. The rapid sound of its hooves echoed through the valley.

Xuanzang sat on his horse, his hands clasped together, silently reciting scriptures.

Unbeknownst to him, a pair of eyes were fixed intently on him from within the dark clouds above.

That was a bear.

He cultivated for a thousand years, became a mountain king, and commanded countless wolves and tigers.

At this moment, he stood on the cloud, gazing at the figure on horseback, his mouth watering.

"Jin Chanzi...a virtuous person who has cultivated for ten lifetimes..."

"Eat a piece of his flesh, and you'll live forever..."

"How could I possibly miss such an opportunity?"

He grinned, revealing a mouthful of fangs.

He was about to give the order to take action.

suddenly.

A voice came from behind:

"In such a hurry to die?"

The bear was startled and suddenly turned around.

A figure appeared in the void behind them, seemingly out of nowhere.

With a hairy face and a thunderous mouth, a gleaming golden headband, and holding an iron rod.

It was Sun Wukong.

The bear's pupils suddenly contracted:

"Who...who are you?"

Sun Wukong scratched his head:

"Me, Old Sun? Guess?"

The bear's expression changed drastically.

Although he had never met Sun Wukong, he had heard of the name.

The one who caused havoc in the Heavenly Palace five hundred years ago!

Wasn't it suppressed under the Five Elements Mountain? How did it get out?

He didn't have time to think and turned to run.

next moment.

An iron bar came crashing down on his head.

boom!

Before the bear could even let out a scream, it turned into a cloud of blood mist and vanished into the clouds.

Sun Wukong retrieved his golden cudgel and curled his lip.

"this one?"

"A thousand-year-old demon, huh? He couldn't even withstand a single blow."

In the void behind him, Kong Xuan stood with his hands behind his back:

"Well done."

Sun Wukong turned around and scratched his head:

"Senior, is someone backing this monster?"

Kong Xuan said calmly:

"It doesn't matter if you have it."

"Killed them, so be it."

"Kill anyone who dares to come looking for you."

Sun Wukong's eyes lit up:

"I like hearing what you say, senior!"

Kong Xuan looked at him:

"remember."

"On the journey to the West, any monster that wants to eat that monk..."

"No matter who it is, no matter what their background is."

"Just keep killing."

"No need to worry."

Sun Wukong grinned:

"Okay!"

"With your words of encouragement, senior, I, Old Sun, will go all out!"

Kong Xuan nodded slightly and disappeared into the void.

Sun Wukong put away his golden cudgel and looked down.

The white horse carrying Xuanzang had reached the foot of the mountain.

Ahead, a temple can be faintly seen.

He scratched his head:

"That monk is lucky."

"The monster was killed by me, Old Sun, before it even made a move."

"Let's keep following along."

His figure flickered and disappeared.

Down the mountain.

Xuanzang reined in his white horse and gazed at the temple ahead.

The temple is small, but it exudes a sense of antiquity. Above the mountain gate are three large characters: Guanyin Zen Temple.

Xuanzang's heart stirred.

Guanyin Temple?

Could this be the Bodhisattva's sacred site?

He dismounted, took the reins, and walked towards the mountain gate.

Just as I arrived at the door, a young novice monk came out to greet me:

"Where do you come from, benefactor?"

Xuanzang put his hands together in prayer:

"This humble monk is Tang Xuanzang, who comes from the Great Tang Dynasty in the East, and is on his way to the Western Paradise to worship Buddha and seek scriptures."

"I'm passing by this temple and would like to ask for lodging for the night."

The young novice monk was taken aback:

"From the Tang Dynasty in the East?"

Xuanzang nodded.

The young novice monk turned and ran, shouting as he ran:

"Master! Master! A monk from the East!"

Xuanzang was stunned, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

A moment later, an old monk, leaning on a cane, walked out unsteadily.

The old monk was extremely old, with eyebrows that drooped to the corners of his mouth and wrinkles on his face like deep ravines. Yet his eyes were unusually bright.

He looked at Xuanzang, sized him up, and suddenly laughed:

"From the East? Very good!"

"This old monk, Jinchi, greets the Dharma Master."

"Please come in, Master!"

Xuanzang put his hands together in prayer:

"Thank you, Elder."

He led the white horse and followed Elder Jinchi into the temple.

The temple is bustling with worshippers and has a large number of monks.

Elder Jinchi led Xuanzang into the meditation room and instructed the young novice to prepare a meal.

Xuanzang sat down and looked around.

Although the meditation room was not large, its furnishings were extremely exquisite.

The table and chairs are made of rosewood, the Buddha statue is carved from ivory, and a calligraphy and painting by a famous person hangs on the wall.

Xuanzang thought to himself: This temple is quite wealthy.

Elder Jinchi personally served tea:

"Please have some tea, Venerable Master."

"This is a Da Hong Pao tea that I have treasured; ordinary people can't afford to drink it."

Xuanzang took the teacup and took a small sip.

The tea has a rich aroma; it's definitely a good tea.

He put down his teacup:

"Thank you for your hospitality, Elder."

"This humble monk has taken the liberty of asking the elder a question."

Elder Jinchi said with a smile:

"Please speak, Venerable Master."

Xuanzang said:

"This humble monk comes from the East. Along the way, I have seen that this mountain is filled with demonic energy."

"I wonder if there are any monsters lurking around here?"

Elder Jinchi's smile faltered slightly.

It then returned to normal:

"You jest, Master."

"Although there are jackals, wolves, tigers, and leopards in these mountains, there are no monsters."

"Please rest assured, Venerable Master."

Xuanzang nodded slightly:

"That's good."

outside the window.

Sun Wukong concealed himself and stared at Elder Jinchi.

He scratched his head:

"Something's not right with this old monk."

"That last moment was clearly a lie."

Behind him, Kong Xuan's voice came softly:

"Of course he's lying."

"Because there are monsters in this temple."

Sun Wukong was taken aback:

"Is there a monster in the temple?"

Kong Xuandao:

"A black bear spirit lives in that meditation room in the backyard."

"I'm sworn brothers with this old monk."

Every few days, I would come to the temple to listen to his sermons.

Sun Wukong's eyes widened:

"This old monk is on friendly terms with the demon?"
