Japanese Terrorist: What? I'll fight Hellstar!

Chapter 6 The Sacred Kara Connects Us

However, the moment the four women's mouths connected with Amamiya Rin's, they trembled, their pupils dilated and went out of focus, and expressions of shock and pain appeared on their faces.

The next moment, large tentacles drooped softly, the light in the four women's eyes completely died, and they fell straight onto Amamiya Rin's bed like puppets with broken strings.

Amamiya Rin was completely unaware of what was happening in the ward. Almost the instant he fell asleep, his consciousness suddenly "woke up".

However, the scene before them was not the study from the previous night, but a dark forest exuding a putrid stench.

(What happened? Did the dream change?)

Amamiya Rin looked completely bewildered. She tried to speak, but what came out was a sharp and unpleasant screech, "Gaahoo!"

He strained to look down—rough, bumpy green skin covered his short arms, and his nails were sharp and dirty.

(I've turned into... a goblin?)

Amamiya Rin was even more bewildered.

Although he jokingly called himself a goblin in his past life, it didn't mean he really wanted to become such an ugly and weak monster that serves as experience points in countless fantasy works!

(This dream is a bit far-fetched; what can you learn by becoming a goblin?)

Looking around, there were more than twenty other equally short and ugly green-skinned creatures.

They carry rough wooden sticks or rusty short knives, making meaningless "clattering" sounds, their eyes cloudy, filled with primal greed and stupidity.

Amamiya Rin felt like she was sitting in a runaway robot, only able to watch helplessly as "herself" wandered aimlessly through the gloomy forest with the goblins.

They attack lone wild animals, beat them indiscriminately with crude weapons, and then swarm to devour the raw meat.

The smell of blood and raw meat made Amamiya Rin almost vomit, but his body gave him a satisfying instinctive reaction. This disconnect between his consciousness and his body almost drove him crazy.

For a long time, Amamiya Rin was forced to experience the miserable life of being the lowest-ranking goblin.

In dark, damp caves, they huddle together with their foul-smelling fellow humans, eating rotten flesh or raw food, constantly on guard against attacks from even more powerful monsters and the slaying of adventurers.

For him, every minute was torture.

For nearly half a month, he gained nothing but pain and nausea.

As monsters at the bottom of the food chain, goblins don't have many skills that Amamiya Rin can learn.

On the evening of the twentieth day, when Amamiya Rin and the other goblins left the cave to forage for food, they suddenly heard hurried footsteps and loud shouts from ahead.

"Just ahead! Goblins spotted! Prepare for battle!"

A clear, young male voice came from the woods.

Immediately afterwards, several figures rushed out—human adventurers!

They wore shiny leather armor or simple chainmail, and carried longswords, battle axes, and wooden staffs. They also looked very young, like novice soldiers.

"For justice!"

"Die, you monster!"

A battle—or rather, a one-sided massacre—immediately broke out.

The goblins howled in terror or anger, brandishing their crude weapons as they charged forward, only to be easily cut down by the adventurers.

Green blood and unidentified organs splattered everywhere, emitting a foul stench.

The death of their comrades terrified the remaining goblins, and Amamiya Rin's body began to run, scattering and fleeing with the other goblins.

Behind him came the righteous roars of adventurers and the sound of weapons cutting through the air. The cold blade slashed at Amamiya Rin's shoulder, bringing indescribable pain.

Suddenly, the light in the forest underwent a strange change.

Four tall, graceful figures appeared without warning in this eerie scene.

Ayaka Hashimoto, Yui Mikami, Yua Hata, and Kaede Momonogi—four women she had only met once—appeared in Rin Amamiya's dream!

(Seriously? Am I that sexually repressed?! Dreaming about an enemy I've only met once? That's ridiculous!)

Amamiya Rin screamed inwardly.

The four figures were quite different: one wielded a magnificent longsword and wore a metallic bikini breastplate and battle skirt; another held a crystalline staff and wore a robe that was extremely low-cut; one held a luminous holy book and wore very little clothing; and the third wore boxing gloves and only a sports bikini, showcasing his athletic physique.

Their equipment... was extremely economical with fabric, as if it had come from the other world.

However, what's even stranger than their attire is their mouths.

Dozens of tendrils, like IV tubes, extended from their mouths, connecting and intertwining with each other, twisting like living things, binding the four of them together.

Furthermore, they have no pupils; their eyes are completely white, giving them a creepy feel.

(This feels so familiar... Whenever a character in Junji Ito's manga has a problem, their eyes turn white... Wait! Those whiskers, those four people, the car accident... It's a group hospital room!)

Suddenly, Amamiya Rin remembered where his sense of déjà vu came from.

Junji Ito Series - Group Wards

The story begins with two female drivers being hospitalized after a car accident. There are four other women in the same ward. These four women walk, sit, and lie down in perfect sync. They do everything together, and even dream the same dream!

Later, one of the female drivers discovered that a substance resembling nerves was parasitizing their brains. The four women were connected by bundles of nerves, their minds becoming one, essentially four bodies using the same consciousness.

Let's call it "Kara" for now.

Because the sacred Kara connects us.

【Kara】has an instinct to develop herself and will transform the target into her new body by extending nerves into the target's mouth.

The comic ends with the female driver discovering the truth and being chased. She successfully severs the nerves of one of the bodies, causing that body to die.

However, Junji Ito's manga basically doesn't have a complete ending; the story ends there.

It now appears that the female driver ultimately managed to connect Kara.

It seems that they don't have the money to compensate him, so they want him to be connected to [Kara] as well. The people connected to [Kara] always stay together, seemingly because they can't be too far apart. They don't even eat, they live on IV drips, and they don't go out to work every day. No wonder they don't have enough savings to compensate him for his emotional distress.

Before Amamiya Rin could think further, the four women connected to [Kara] had already started to move and were chasing after Amamiya Rin at the same time.

"Holy Slash!"

"Fireball!"

"The Light of Punishment!"

"Hundred-Crack Kick!"

The sword's edge grazed my back, bringing excruciating, tearing pain.

The fireball exploded beside him, and the scorching blast sent Yu Gonglin flying.

The holy light rays burned the skin.

The fighter's leg slap made his cheek sting.

Each blow brings new pain to Amamiya Rin.
