Although Shu Hua is laid-back, she is quite proactive.

The following day, at 9:50 a.m., at the Pei Group headquarters building.

Shu Hua stood before the towering building and took a deep breath. The glass curtain wall gleamed coldly in the sunlight, just like Pei Yanzhou—powerful, perfect, yet exuding an unapproachable aloofness.

She adjusted the light beige Chanel suit she had specially chosen for the interview and went inside.

The design department is on the twelfth floor. There were already four people sitting in the interview waiting area: three men and one woman.

As soon as Shu Hua entered, almost everyone's eyes were focused on her.

She was truly dazzling today. Her long, jet-black hair cascaded down her shoulders like satin, and her classic "first love" face was innocent and flawless. Yet, her eyes were slightly upturned at the corners, and her gaze carried an unconscious allure. The well-tailored suit accentuated her curvaceous figure, and every gesture exuded natural elegance and nobility.

A man in a blue shirt with slicked-back hair immediately stood up and greeted him warmly: "Hello, are you here for an interview too? My name is Zhang Ming."

"Shu Hua." She nodded slightly, polite but distant, and found an empty seat to sit down.

Zhang Ming, however, readily sat down next to her and began to launch into a long-winded speech: "Miss Shu, which school did you graduate from? You look so young. I graduated from a top-tier university in China (985 Project). I'm here for this interview at Pei's, feeling confident I'll get the job..."

Shu Hua took out her portfolio and flipped through it, occasionally humming in agreement, but not saying anything in return.

Seeing her lukewarm response, Zhang Ming's initial enthusiasm turned into a barely perceptible awkwardness. However, his gaze swept over Shu Hua's exquisite profile and her straight, slender legs, and he still couldn't give up: "Ms. Shu, how about we have lunch together after the interview? I know a nice restaurant nearby..."

"Sorry, I have plans for lunch." Shu Hua looked up and gave a perfunctory smile.

After being rejected repeatedly, Zhang Ming was starting to lose face.

He glanced at Shu Hua's seemingly simple yet expensive outfit and her excessively beautiful face, and chuckled softly, "Ha, what are you pretending to be so high and mighty for? I've seen plenty of pretty faces like you who get ahead just because they're good-looking. You're all show and no substance. I bet the interview was just a formality."

The waiting area fell silent instantly. The other girl, who looked quiet and reserved, looked at Shu Hua with concern.

Shu Hua closed her portfolio, slowly raised her head, and instead of showing anger, a bright smile bloomed on her beautiful face.

She glanced at Zhang Ming from head to toe, her tone soft yet barbed: "Thank you, the vase is beautiful, I'll take that as a compliment. As for what I'm pretending to be..."

She paused, her red lips curving slightly, "This isn't something someone like you should be worrying about."

"You!" Zhang Ming's face flushed red instantly.

Shu Hua didn't give him a chance to refute, and continued to ask slowly, "By the way, which school did you graduate from? With your kind of quality, you're practically ruining your school's reputation."

Zhang Ming was hit where it hurt; his undergraduate university was indeed not top-tier.

He stiffened his neck and retorted with a hint of malice, "Such a big mouth? Which school do you go to? Did you get into graduate school? It's not some third-rate diploma mill, is it?"

Shu Hua picked up the bottled water next to her, slowly unscrewed it, took a sip, and then said casually, "No need for you to worry. Yale Bachelor's and Master's combined."

"Yale?!"

"Oh my god, is this for real?"

"That major is among the best in the world!"

A few suppressed gasps echoed in the waiting room. Another girl's gaze towards Shu Hua instantly filled with adoration.

Zhang Ming's face flushed red and then turned pale, as if someone had grabbed his neck, and he couldn't say a word.

Just then, the conference room door opened, and the secretary called his name. He practically slunk away, tail between his legs, and hurried inside.

"Wow! You're amazing!" The cute, round-faced girl sitting on the other side immediately leaned closer, her eyes sparkling. "You just shut him up! If it were me, I probably would have cried from anger and wouldn't have dared to talk back."

Shu Hua smiled and said, "You can't be afraid of this kind of person. The more afraid you are, the more they will take advantage of you."

Want to bully her? No way.

"Mmm! I learned something! My name is Yao Zhiyao, you're so pretty!" Yao Zhiyao nodded vigorously, as if she had found her idol.

"Shu Hua"

The two chatted for a few minutes and found they got along very well. Watching the people ahead of them being called in one by one, Yao Zhiyao grew increasingly nervous, her small hands tightly gripping the hem of her clothes.

Shu Hua noticed her unease, took out a beautifully wrapped fruit candy from her delicate little bag, and handed it to her: "Here, have something sweet to ease your tension. Good luck!"

Yao Zhiyao accepted the candy, almost crying with gratitude: "Thank you, you're so kind!"

When it was Shu's turn to audition, she calmly walked into the conference room.

There were three interviewers, two women and one man. The woman in the middle, with a capable demeanor, was likely the main interviewer, Qiao Na, the design director. Upon seeing her, all three visibly paused for a moment.

"Please sit down. Are you nervous?" Jona asked with a smile.

Shu Hua sat down in the chair, her back naturally straight, her posture elegant yet humble. She shook her head, her voice clear and gentle: "I'm not nervous."

A hint of surprise and admiration flashed in Jona's eyes: "You're in great shape. You're the most composed person I've interviewed all day."

A female deputy director and Wang Peng, the slightly plump male director, nodded in agreement.

"Thank you." Shu Hua remained unperturbed by praise or criticism.

The interviewers looked through her resume and portfolio, and their faces showed satisfaction.

Qiao Na asked several in-depth questions on professional issues, from design concepts to software applications, and her views on current brand design trends. Shu Hua answered fluently and insightfully, and even put forward some creative ideas that caught Qiao Na's eye.

Jona's admiration grew stronger.

The other two interviewers also nodded frequently.

With the professional questions settled, the male director, Wang Peng, adjusted his glasses, his gaze lingering on Shu Hua's beautiful face. He smiled and asked, "Ms. Shu, with such outstanding qualities, you must have many suitors, right? Do you have a boyfriend?"

Shu Hua frowned almost imperceptibly, then smoothed out her brow. She calmly looked at Wang Peng, her tone polite yet carrying an undeniable air of assertiveness: "I'm sorry, but I believe my relationship status has absolutely no logical connection to my professional abilities or the requirements of this position. If you have no further professional questions, I think my interview can end here."

Wang Peng was taken aback for a moment, then chuckled and said, "Haha, it's not related at all. Just asking casually, showing concern for outstanding young people."

Seeing the ill-intentioned look in his eyes, Shu Hua didn't want to leave any room for criticism, so she answered directly and clearly: "I'm married."

Upon hearing those three words, all three interviewers were taken aback, seemingly surprised that she was married at such a young age. A hint of disappointment flashed in Wang Peng's eyes, but he quickly composed himself.

After the interview, Jona personally escorted her to the door, saying gently, "The results will be sent to you via email tomorrow, please keep an eye out. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you."

There are three internship positions available for this interview, with a three-month probationary period.

Let's see who wins in the end.

The interview ended just in time for lunch.

Shu Hua followed the flow of people down to the magnificent lobby on the first floor.

She was so hungry that her stomach was practically sticking to her back, and she was thinking about where to eat when she looked up and her heart skipped a beat.
