Shu Hua pouted, not answering, just staring at him. She blinked, and another hot tear rolled down her cheek.

Pei Yanzhou was now truly panicked.

He immediately stopped what he was doing, reached out and turned on the room light. Then he lifted Shu Hua off the bed, made her face him, and held her in his arms.

"Why are you crying?" He cupped her face in his hands, gently wiping away her tears with his fingertips. "Did it hurt?"

Shu Hua shook her head and said sullenly, "Pei Yanzhou, are you angry?"

Pei Yanzhou was taken aback.

"You were so fierce just now," Shu Hua sniffed, looking aggrieved.

Pei Yanzhou chuckled: "Crying because of this?"

Shu Hua nodded: "Who told you to be so fierce..."

"I didn't curse at you, nor did I hit you," Pei Yanzhou said helplessly. "How exactly did you act aggressively?"

"There is one," Shu Hua complained softly.

Pei Yanzhou was usually very gentle with her, and she could feel that tenderness. But just now, he kissed her fiercely, as if he wanted to devour her whole. Her chest was also pinched a little painfully.

Pei Yanzhou remained silent for a few seconds, then sighed.

"Yes, it's my fault." He lowered his head and gently kissed away the tears at the corner of her eyes. "I apologize. I really didn't control myself and hurt you."

Shu Hua then looked up at him, her eyes still red: "Are you angry? Are you angry with me?"

Why do you say that?

"Because I told my colleagues you were just average?" Shu Hua guessed. "And... you were just confessed to."

Pei Yanzhou took her hand and they intertwined their fingers.

"I'm not angry with you," he said earnestly. "And I won't be angry with you."

"That is..."

"Because I'm jealous," Pei Yanzhou readily admitted.

Shu Hua was taken aback: "Jealous?"

"Hmm." Pei Yanzhou looked at her, a self-deprecating smile playing on his lips. "Mrs. Pei is too charming, it makes me feel quite threatened."

Looking at him, who was clearly extremely jealous but still trying to explain and even seemed a little aggrieved, Shu Hua's fear and grievances instantly vanished, replaced by a sweet and tender feeling of being cared for.

She extended her index finger and gently poked his hard arm muscles: "But I refused."

"I don't like anyone else, I only like you."

"I know." Pei Yanzhou took her mischievous fingers, kissed them, and said, "But I can't help it. I've always been selfish towards you. I feel uncomfortable when I see anyone getting close to you."

Shu Hua's heart fluttered at his straightforward yet somewhat childish "love words".

Mr. Pei is so cute when he's jealous.

She reached out and wrapped her arms around his neck, tilted her head back, and looked at him with smiling eyes. Then she leaned in and gently pecked his sexy, thin lips: "I'm selfish towards Mr. Pei too. So, Mr. Pei, are you feeling any better now?"

Pei Yanzhou looked at her rosy, slightly swollen lips, his Adam's apple bobbed, and his voice was hoarse: "A few more kisses might make it even better."

Shu Hua leaned in, cupped his face, and showered him with kisses.

From the forehead to the tip of the nose, from the cheeks to the chin, and finally to the lips.

Pei Yanzhou was amused by her childish and adorable actions, and the jealousy and resentment in his heart completely dissipated.

He cradled the back of her head, taking the initiative and deepening the kiss.

As they kissed, they fell back onto the bed. Clothes fell to the floor one by one, and the room temperature gradually rose.

Pei Yanzhou kept his promise this time—he kept his word.

This time, however, it lasted a bit longer.

From the bed to the bathroom, Shu Hua was finally carried out of the bathroom by Pei Yanzhou.

He put her on the bed, covered her with the blanket, and then went to get dressed.

Shu Hua watched in a daze as he put on his shirt, fastened his cufflinks, and then slipped on his trousers. His broad shoulders, narrow waist, and long, powerful legs were indeed both abstinent and sexy.

After getting dressed, Pei Yanzhou walked back to the bedside, leaned down, and placed a gentle kiss on Shu Hua's smooth forehead, whispering, "Sleep. I've set your alarm; get up when it rings."

Shu Hua was so tired that her eyelids were drooping, but she still forced herself to ask, "Aren't you... going to take a nap?" Her voice was incredibly soft.

Pei Yanzhou looked at her, only her small face peeking out from under the covers, brushed aside the slightly damp stray hairs on her forehead, and kissed the tip of her nose: "There's no time, I have an important collaboration to discuss this afternoon. I'll come back tonight to have dinner with you, okay?"

"Okay..." Shu Hua mumbled a reply, finally unable to hold on any longer, and fell into a deep sleep.

Pei Yanzhou sat on the edge of the bed, quietly watching her for a while to make sure she was sound asleep before gently tucking her in. Then, he left the bedroom.

Pei Yanzhou did not show up at the sports meet in the afternoon.

After Shu Hua woke up, she changed her clothes and went downstairs. As soon as Yao Zhiyao saw her, he came over mysteriously.

"Sister Hua," she whispered, "President Pei didn't come this afternoon."

"Yes, he has a job," Shu Hua said naturally.

Yao Zhiyao blinked: "Oh—I understand."

She has now fully accepted the fact that "Sister Hua is the president's wife" and has automatically switched to "shipping" mode, finding every interaction between Shu Hua and Pei Yanzhou sweet.

In the afternoon, Shu Pictorial introduced a fun activity – the whirlwind run.

Shu Hua and Yao Zhiyao, along with two other young girls from the design department, formed a team. The competition was full of hilarious moments; the four of them were so dizzy from spinning around that they almost fell over together when they reached the finish line.

In the end, we got second place, and the prize was a set of high-end skincare products for each person.

However, Shu Hua had already exercised enough today. The "intense exercise" at noon had consumed a lot of her energy, so she only participated in this one activity in the afternoon.

Afterwards, they went to watch a swimming relay race. During the race, Pei's mother called, saying she wanted her and Pei Yanzhou to come home for dinner on the weekend and asked about their recent situation. The mother-in-law and daughter-in-law chatted for a while before hanging up.

After hanging up the phone, Shu Hua checked the time; it was almost five o'clock. The competition at the swimming pool should have ended, and many people were beginning to leave the stadium, preparing to go back to their hotels to shower and wait for the evening's dinner and fireworks show.

She planned to meet Yao Zhiyao at the swimming pool and then go back to the hotel room together to change clothes.

The swimming pool was empty; the air was filled with a faint smell of disinfectant and the dampness of the water.

Shu Hua had just reached the poolside rest area and was about to send a message to Yao Zhiyao when a figure suddenly blocked her way.

Looking up, I met a pair of eyes filled with resentment and anger.

"Shu Hua." Jiang Chu stared intently at Shu Hua.
