Ruan Zhining has been incredibly busy this week. The Baoer Group is pressing her for an urgent wedding, which has to be held next Friday.

The location was chosen by a lake, and it was extremely luxurious. Thinking of this, she became happy again.

At noon, she finally finalized the details of her wedding dress with her team. She also baked some cookies, intending to take them to the bakery near her rented apartment.

The reason is that Yin Jianhang went on a last-minute business trip and won't be back until tonight. His assistant is coming to pick it up on the way. Once the taste is confirmed to be fine, a sample will be baked tomorrow using this ratio, and it will be used at the wedding the day after.

She also had her own little scheme: to promote the dessert brand she planned to invest in at the wedding. This was a small investment project that Yin Jianhang had introduced to her as a practice run.

But last night she went to the hospital to accompany her sister and stayed up all night. When she walked to the bakery and was exposed to the sun, she felt dizzy—the cars on the other side of the road looked like double.

She sighed, stood at the door for a while to catch her breath, and then went inside.

After she came out, she thought fiercely that once her sister's surgery was over, she would go on a proper vacation and experience the carefree life of a billionaire.

Over the years, she's been busy being a "green tea" (a manipulative woman), and she's also been very poor, so she hasn't had a proper chance to go out and have fun.

I hope my sister's surgery is successful. I also hope her wedding tomorrow goes smoothly and she receives a hefty sum as a wedding gift.

She clasped her hands together, exhaled, turned around, and quickened her pace to go back and catch up on her sleep.

Across the street, inside a black Bentley.

All the car windows were rolled down.

Wen Chongyan, sitting in his seat, spotted Ruan Zhining almost immediately—

It's hard not to see her. She walks down the street, fair-skinned and beautiful, standing out more than anyone else.

It's been almost a month.

But he felt more than that. Perhaps it was because he had seen her every day for those three months, and now that she had suddenly been gone for so long, he felt a little uneasy. It's a normal human emotion.

Wen Chongyan's gaze never left her. Ruan Zhining, having reached the bakery entrance, seemed to have also spotted him in the car across the street.

She stood there, staring blankly at his car.

He had announced his schedule, so if she paid attention, she would know he was coming to Vancouver today. And it was impossible for her not to pay attention to his schedule.

Sure enough, Ruan Zhining looked at his car with a somewhat melancholy expression on her face.

Then, she turned and went into the bakery, took a bag out of her purse, and gave it to the clerk.

After coming out, she put her hands together, made a wish (it's unclear what), and then ran away.

Wen Chongyan sat in the car watching her drive away. Only after she had disappeared from sight did he say, "Stop across the street."

He got out of the car and went into the bakery.

The shop assistant saw him and offered to serve him. Wen Chongyan, however, said in English, "What did that lady bring over?"

"Oh, she brought over some cookies, saying her husband lives nearby and will pick them up. He drives a black Bentley and has an Asian face—hey, is that you?"

The black Bentley. Of course, it was him.

The cookie bag was brought out, with a letter Y written on it in watercolor.

It's the same letter that's circled on her calendar, indicating that she'll be getting her marriage certificate in three months.

It's obvious. Y is a derivative.

Wen Chongyan was now completely certain that Ruan Zhining had indeed seen him.

And—husband. She'd only just received the marriage agreement, and she'd already started calling him that?

She probably knew she had gone too far this time, and didn't know how to admit her mistake to appease him. So, she left him the bag of cookies and a name, as a gesture of goodwill.

Unfortunately, he doesn't like cookies.

Wen Chongyan said casually to the shop assistant, "Yes, I am her husband. The black Bentley parked outside is my car."

He took the cookies, returned to the car, and, smelling their sweet aroma, casually placed them on the seat next to him.

Back at the hotel, he took the cookies back to his room. He sat for a while, then picked them up again.

I opened it and tasted a piece.

Very sweet.

Did she make it herself?

There were even two heart-shaped patterns in the center of the cookie. Did she start making these things as soon as she received the marriage agreement?

boring.

Wen Chongyan sat there and slowly finished the whole bag of biscuits.

By the end of the meal, he thought, "This is so greasy."

The cookies didn't taste good.

But she did put a lot of effort into it. The two heart-shaped designs, in particular, were reasonably nice, and they could be given to friends and family at the wedding.

He thought again.

She's used to being a manipulative woman, so she inevitably resorts to some tricks; even her attempt to run abroad was rejected by him.

Now that she has shown interest in making amends...

He decided not to argue with her anymore.

Forget it.

Wen Chongyan called his assistant and sent a copy of the invitation to the wedding that the Baoer Group would be attending the day after tomorrow to the apartment where Ruan Zhining was renting.

Furthermore, a letter Y was written on the back.

She will definitely come.

When she arrives the day after tomorrow, she can see how other people's weddings are organized. If she wants to invite this company to host her wedding, that's fine too.

……

Early the day after tomorrow.

Ruan Zhining set off with her team early on to the lake where the wedding was being held. Yin Jianhang, on the other hand, went from the other side.

Since the wedding was for commercial purposes, she didn't need to be responsible for anything on-site. She had already done her makeup and styling, but hadn't changed out of her dress yet.

The dressing room was too stuffy, so she got up and went outside for some fresh air before it started.

The wedding clearly invited many big names from around the world, but the privacy was well maintained.

To ensure the best possible effect at the moment, photos of the bride and groom were not released beforehand; everything was kept secret.

Ruan Zhining was walking on the grass, squatting down to pet a cat when she suddenly heard a voice calling "President Wen" from ahead.

She was startled and suddenly looked up.

A tall, handsome man appeared a little distance away, dressed in a black suit, and walked over surrounded by several people.

She was stunned. She thought she was seeing things.

but no.

It's not an illusion.

—It really is Wen Chongyan.

And clearly, Wen Chongyan saw her too.

From a distance, Ruan Zhining couldn't see his exact expression.

She only saw Wen Chongyan stop in his tracks. He stood there, one hand in his pocket, looking at her. He didn't seem surprised that she was there.

But Ruan Zhining was genuinely surprised. She didn't even know what expression she should have when her former sugar daddy came to her wedding.

Besides, the sugar daddy is getting married too. It's probably best to pretend we don't know each other to avoid awkwardness.

She lowered her head, stroked the cat a few more times, and slowly stood up.

Then he turned around and left.

Wen Chongyan frowned suddenly. He hadn't expected that she would come over and not speak to him.

He ate the cookies, he sent the invitation, what else is she going to make a fuss about?

He couldn't possibly initiate a conversation with her. Those around him enthusiastically invited him inside, but Wen Chongyan withdrew his gaze and stepped into the wedding venue.

But after he sat down, he still didn't see Ruan Zhining.

Where could she run to?

She was unfamiliar with the place and the people there; why wouldn't she sit with him, but instead wanted to sit with a foreign man?

Thinking of this, Wen Chongyan frowned, took out his phone, opened Ruan Zhining's WeChat, and sent her a message with a forceful and commanding tone.
