Chapter 155 Hanako's Assistance
Aimei led the three of them toward the city, being very enthusiastic along the way.
"By the way, if you don't have anything urgent to do these next few days, why don't you stay with us a little longer?" Aimee turned to look at Jiang Chuan with a smile on her face. "I'll take care of all your food and lodging before you participate in the P1 Fighting Tournament."
As she spoke, the curve of her chest swayed as she turned around.
Xiaoxia's eyes lit up: "Really? That's great! I've been camping every day for the past few days, and my back and waist are killing me!"
Actually, I hurt my back because I was playing too wildly with Jiang Chuan in the jungle.
"Of course it's true." Aimee nodded. "I'm so grateful that you're willing to help me with this. It's nothing."
Hanako said softly, "Wouldn't that be too intrusive?"
"No, no!" Aimei quickly waved her hand. "It's just my mom and me at home, it's usually very quiet. Your arrival will liven things up."
As she spoke, she looked at Jiang Chuan with a hint of anticipation in her eyes: "Besides, Mr. Jiang Chuan needs to rest and adjust his condition before participating in the competition, right? Camping in the wild is never as comfortable as being at home."
Jiang Chuan nodded: "Then I'll have to trouble you."
"No trouble at all!" Aimi smiled even more happily, her chest trembling slightly.
The group walked and talked, and soon entered the city.
Although it's called a city, it's really just a small town. The buildings on both sides of the street are quite old, with mottled walls that bear the marks of time.
Aimei led them through a maze of turns, finally stopping in front of a building.
This is a two-story Japanese-style building with a stone tablet at the entrance bearing four large characters: "Fighting Spirit Dojo".
Xiaoxia read it aloud, then looked at Aimi in surprise: "Eh? Sister Aimi, is your home a dojo?"
Aimei gave a bitter smile, looking at the stone tablet with complex emotions in her eyes.
"Yes... but it's just a sign."
She pushed the door open, making a creaking sound.
The scene in the courtyard stunned the three of them.
The weeds were overgrown and had grown almost up to my knees.
Several old trees grew lush and verdant, covering most of the yard.
There were some odds and ends piled up under the tree, including a few old sandbags and a wooden dummy covered in moss.
In the very center of the courtyard was a battlefield, but it had long been abandoned. The ground was full of potholes, and the lines were blurred and indistinct, making it impossible to tell what it used to look like.
"This..." Xiaoxia opened her mouth, not knowing what to say.
Aimi chuckled self-deprecatingly: "This year is the final review period for the league. After this year, the gym's qualification will be revoked."
As she spoke, she led the three of them across the courtyard and into the house.
"Please have a seat, I'll go pour you some tea."
The living room was quite clean; although the furniture was old, it was spotless.
As soon as Jiang Chuan and the other two sat down, Ai Mei brought out tea.
She bent down and placed the teacup in front of the three of them. The neckline of her knitted sweater was slightly open, and Jiang Chuan could just see the white fabric underneath.
Aimei sat down opposite, holding her teacup with both hands, and began to explain.
"This dojo was founded by my grandfather."
As she spoke, she looked up at a photograph hanging on the wall.
The photo shows a sprightly old man wearing a fighting outfit, with an Ahiro and a Sawamura standing beside him.
"When my grandfather was young, he was a very skilled trainer. Back then, the Fighting Spirit Gym was very famous in this area, and it even competed for the title of the city's representative gym."
Xiaoxia blinked in surprise: "A city-level dojo? That's an amazing level!"
"Yes." Amy nodded: "Back then, many people came to challenge him every day, and Grandpa trained quite a few powerful Fighting-type Pokémon."
She paused, and the smile on her face faded.
"Unfortunately... that's just how Fighting-type Pokémon are. They often have to fight in close combat, and getting injured is commonplace. Many Pokémon can't last more than a few years before they have to retire, and they have a lot of hidden injuries that prevent them from staying healthy for long."
As she spoke, she lowered her head, her fingers tracing the teacup.
"So when Grandpa passed away, most of the Fighting-type Pokémon were old, and some were injured. Before he died, Grandpa instructed that they be sent to a foster care facility to live out their remaining years."
Hanako asked softly, "And what about Hitmonlee? The one we have now?"
"No." Amy shook her head. "That Hitmonlee evolved later. What Grandpa left for Dad was a Fearless Boy."
She looked up and gazed towards the courtyard.
"That fearless kid is a Heavenly King level."
"Heavenly King level?" Xiaoxia's eyes widened. "That powerful?"
"Yes." Aimee nodded. "Grandpa did a good job with the basics; he originally wanted Dad to inherit it. Unfortunately..."
She sighed.
"Unfortunately, my dad wasn't focused on the dojo at all back then. He was obsessed with street fighting and would fight with people all day long."
"Street fighting? What's that?" Hanako asked curiously.
Aimee took a sip of tea: "It's just a kind of fighting without strict rules."
"My dad was quite good at fighting when he was young, and he was well-known in the street fighting circle. Later, he simply set up his own street fighting arena and organized people to fight every day."
As she spoke, her eyes dimmed.
"He poured all his family's money into that stage. Prize money, venue fees, promotion fees... he spent a lot of money. But street fighting is a niche sport, and he couldn't make any money at all. In fact, the more he invested, the more he lost."
Jiang Chuan took a sip of tea and remained silent.
"What about the fearless kid?" Xia asked.
"I took care of it," Amy said. "Back then, my dad was always out and had no time to train Pokémon. So I took care of my sick mom while also raising that Fearless Boy."
She paused, then lowered her voice.
"My mother has always been in poor health and has been bedridden for many years. I have to take care of her and do housework, so I have no energy to run the dojo. That's how I've kept Fearless Boy at home. He helps with some chores and trains me occasionally, but it's just basic training."
"Later, my dad got older and couldn't fight in the streets anymore, so he thought about coming back to take over the dojo. But when he saw the fearless kid's attitude, he got angry."
"He said I had spoiled Fearless Boy, making him do chores all day and lose all his wildness. Then he took Fearless Boy away, saying he wanted to retrain him and restore his wildness."
She looked up at Jiang Chuan and the others.
"From then on, Dad took Fearless to live and eat in the wild, and challenged passing trainers every day. Later, Fearless evolved into Hitmonlee, and Dad got even more obsessed."
Hanako asked softly, "And then what happened?"
"Later..." Aimi smiled bitterly, "Later, Dad would often order Hitmonchan to fight with people. Sometimes, even if someone didn't want to fight, he would insist on fighting, and as a result, he would injure passersby."
She lowered her head and clenched her fists.
"Every time something like this happens, the family has to pay compensation. My mother's medical treatment already costs money, and if we keep paying compensation like this, life will become increasingly difficult for the family. But my father doesn't care about any of this. He's still out fighting all day long, just wanting to win the P1 fighting tournament."
Xiaoxia couldn't hold back any longer: "Heh, you old man, you're such a jerk! You're obsessed with your hobby, making your wife and daughter suffer?"
She was straightforward and gave the fan a very direct evaluation.
Jiang Chuan didn't stop Xiaoxia from commenting this time, because what she said was already mild.
Aimei didn't refute anything, she just lowered her head and remained silent for a few seconds.
Then she stood up and bowed deeply.
"That's why I'm asking you for help, Mr. Egawa... I just saw your Pikachu easily defeat Hitmonlee. You're definitely much stronger than my dad, so I'm counting on you this time!"
"If it can stop my father from continuing his obsession, I'll repay him with anything in the future!"
She bowed again, her voice pleading.
Jiang Chuan stood up and gently helped Ai Mei up.
When I touched her arm, I could feel that her skin was very smooth and her arm was very soft.
"Don't worry, I'll do my best," he said.
Aimei looked up, her eyes red-rimmed, but a smile appeared on her face.
"Thank you... thank you so much..."
As she spoke, she bowed again, this time less deeply, but the curve of her chest still swayed.
Just then, the door to the inner room slowly opened.
"Aimei...are we having guests over?"
A woman's voice came out, very soft and a little weak.
The four of them turned to look.
A middle-aged woman walked out of the door.
She was wearing a plain-colored kimono, simple in style but very clean.
Her hair was piled up at the back of her head, with some strands falling down and resting on her pale cheeks.
His complexion was very bad, almost transparently pale, and his lips were also bloodless.
But her features are very delicate, and you can tell that she must have been a beauty when she was young.
Although the kimono is loose, the outline of the figure can still be seen.
The curves of her chest are not exaggerated, but rather gentle, and her waist is slender, appearing even more delicate under the restraint of the kimono's obi (sash).
She leaned against the door frame, her steps unsteady, each step seeming as if she had used up all her strength.
"Mom, why did you come out?" Aimei quickly stepped forward to support her.
The woman patted Ai Mei's hand, her gaze sweeping over Jiang Chuan and the other two, a gentle smile in her eyes.
"When guests come to our house, I, as the host, should at least come out and greet them."
Aimei quickly helped her mother up, her tone tinged with reproach: "Mom, you're not feeling well, you should just lie down and rest, why did you come out?"
"I've been lying down all day, my back is sore." The woman gently patted Aimee's hand, her gaze softening as she looked at Jiang Chuan and the other two. "I overheard Aimee saying behind the door that you're going to help us with the fan holder issue?"
As she spoke, she gave a slight bow.
"Thank you so much for your help."
The neckline of the kimono opened slightly with the movement, revealing a section of fair neck.
Jiang Chuan stood up and nodded politely: "Auntie, you're too kind. It was nothing."
"Sit down, everyone sit down." The woman waved her hand and slowly sat down with Ai Mei's help.
She sat down very slowly, leaning gently against Aimi, as if she had used up all her strength.
"My name is Ayano," she said, a gentle smile on her face. "I'm a mother who loves beauty."
Hanako said softly, "My name is Hanako."
Xiaoxia greeted her sweetly, "My name is Xiaoxia!"
"We are all Jiang Chuan's girlfriends."
Ayano looked at them with a smile in her eyes: "The strong often have multiple wives. It seems Mr. Egawa must be very powerful."
She paused as she spoke, then looked at Jiang Chuan with admiration in her eyes.
Jiang Chuan nodded and said modestly, "I do have a few special skills, after all."
Ayano smiled slightly, and a bit of color finally returned to her pale face.
"Please sit down, I'll go make you something to eat."
Hanako quickly stood up: "Ayano-neechan, you're not feeling well, let me help you."
"I can't accept this..." Ayano said, feeling a little embarrassed.
"It's nothing, it's nothing." Hanako waved her hand with a smile. "I cook often too, and Jiangchuan and Xiaoxia both praise my cooking skills."
Xia nodded vigorously beside her, "Yes, yes, yes! Sister Huazi's cooking is delicious!"
Aimei also stood up: "Mom, you sit down, I'll go help Sister Huazi."
"That won't do. How can we let guests cook?" Ayano shook her head.
Jiang Chuan spoke up: "Aunt Ayano, please don't be so polite. Hanako's cooking is indeed excellent. Please sit down and rest, let them go and get busy."
Ayano looked at Egawa, then at Hanako, and finally nodded.
"Thank you for your help, Hanako."
"No trouble at all," Hanako said with a smile, following Aimi into the kitchen.
After taking a couple of steps, she turned back to look at Jiang Chuan, a hint of a smile in her eyes.
Jiang Chuan nodded to her.
...............
Soon, the sound of chopping vegetables came from the kitchen.
Ayano sat in the living room, talking to Jiangchuan and Xiaoxia.
She spoke slowly, softly, and with a hint of weakness, but in a gentle tone.
After chatting for a while, I learned that Ayano was a performance trainer when she was young and had even won an award in a performance competition.
"I was healthy back then and I was always running around," Ayano said with a smile. "But after I gave birth to Aimi, my health deteriorated, and I've been sick ever since."
Xiaoxia blinked: "Didn't you see a doctor?"
"I've seen doctors," Ayano nodded. "I've seen so many doctors, and they all said I need to let it heal slowly. But with our family like this, where would we get the money to raise it?"
She said this and sighed.
"That guy Shan Dou is always out fighting, and he always ends up losing money. He's squandered all our savings."
Jiang Chuan remained silent and did not speak.
Ayano looked at him and smiled, "Let's not talk about that. I'm already very grateful that you came to help."
She paused, then said, "Shan Dou, although he's a scoundrel, isn't a bad person. He's just too obsessed with fighting, to the point of being fixated on it. I hope you can bring him to his senses."
Jiang Chuan nodded: "I will do my best."
.....................
In the kitchen, Hanako and Aimi were busy at work.
Aimei washes the vegetables, and Hanako cuts them; they work together seamlessly.
"Hanako-nee, your cooking is amazing!" Aimi couldn't help but praise Hanako's skillful knife work.
Hanako smiled and said, "I'm used to doing it at home."
As she spoke, she glanced at Aimei.
Aimei was bending over to wash vegetables, her knitted sweater neckline open. From Hanako's perspective, you could see two soft, white mounds swaying gently with her movements.
Hanako thought to herself: Aimei has such a great figure.
Hanako's characteristics as the eldest sister of the backyard were once again activated, and she began to consider Jiangchuan's feelings again.
"I love beauty."
"Hmm?" Aimi looked up.
Do you have a boyfriend?
Aimee blushed immediately: "No...no."
Hanako smiled and continued, "With your looks, how come you don't have a boyfriend?"
Ai Mei felt even more embarrassed and lowered her head to continue washing the vegetables.
"There aren't any suitable ones. And as I just told you, our family situation is quite difficult."
"So what do you think of Jiang Chuan?" Hanako naturally offered to help Jiang Chuan.
