Lingxiao Palace

Venus stroked his beard, a broad smile on his face.

"Great Celestial Venerable, you see, that's right!" Taibai Jinxing pointed at Su Bai, who was leisurely and carefree in the light screen, "Give him a good position and let him live a good life, and he will naturally be content!"

"If that mischievous monkey had been so pragmatic back then, he wouldn't have ended up being imprisoned under a mountain for five hundred years!"

The Jade Emperor nodded, a satisfied smile appearing on his face.

"Taibai is right," the Jade Emperor said, looking at Su Bai on the light screen. "Although this wicked dragon once followed that mischievous monkey in rebellion, he ultimately knows how to be content."

"Unlike that mischievous monkey, who wasn't happy with being given the lowly position of弼马温 (Bima Wen, a lowly stable boy), and insisted on having the title of 齐天大圣 (Qitian Dasheng, the Great Sage Equal to Heaven). And what happened? He was still imprisoned under the mountain."

"Yes, yes," the surrounding officials chimed in. "Su Bai is so well-behaved in the North Sea! He spends his days drinking, chatting, and enjoying the moon with beauties. Where is there even a hint of rebellion in his mind?"

"The Great Celestial Venerable is wise! This strategy of appeasement is truly brilliant!"

The Jade Emperor felt even more pleased with himself as he listened to these flattering remarks.

He looked at the light screen, secretly making plans in his mind.

"This wicked dragon is much smarter than that mischievous monkey."

The Jade Emperor sneered inwardly, "However, this suits my purposes perfectly."

He had thought it through very clearly.

Su Bai now has the support of the Jie Sect, the Dragon Clan, the Human Clan, and even the Third Holy Mother Yang Chan.

These forces combined are no small number.

If they could win over Su Bai and make him a mascot in the Heavenly Court, then these forces would naturally gravitate towards the Heavenly Court.

"As long as Su Bai lives a good life, those Jie Sect immortals, dragons, and humans will all have more goodwill towards the Heavenly Court out of respect for him."

The Jade Emperor had a clear plan in mind.

"Especially those immortals of the Jie Sect, although they are currently suppressed by the Investiture of the Gods in Heaven, they are still a considerable force. If we can win them over, it will greatly benefit me in regaining real power from the Ren and Chan sects!"

"And then there's the Dragon Clan. Although they appear loyal to the Heavenly Court, judging from Ao Shun's words just now, they harbor many grievances against it."

"If we can appease the Dragon Clan through Su Bai and gain their genuine allegiance, then my foundation in the Heavenly Court will be even more secure!"

The Jade Emperor grew increasingly pleased with himself.

"As for those deities from the Human Sect and the Chan Sect..." A cold glint flashed in the Jade Emperor's eyes, "Hmph, I am the Great Heavenly Venerable appointed by the Dao Ancestor! Why should I be subject to your constraints at every turn?"

"With Su Bai as a pawn, I can gradually weaken your power and truly control the Heavenly Court!"

The Jade Emperor was delighted, finding Su Bai more and more pleasing to the eye.

This wicked dragon is practically a pawn sent from heaven!

Western Spirit Mountain

Looking at Su Bai in the light screen, Buddha also breathed a long sigh of relief.

"Amitabha..." The Buddha clasped his hands together, "Excellent, excellent."

Guanyin Bodhisattva stepped forward: "Buddha, it seems this wicked dragon has truly calmed down."

"Hmm." Buddha nodded. "If he obediently remains a deity in the North Sea, it would actually be a good thing for the West."

"What the Buddha said is absolutely right," Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva added. "We in the West are no longer thinking about saving this wicked dragon."

"If he does nothing and just stays in Beihai, that would be the greatest help he can give to the West!"

The Buddhas of the West all nodded in agreement.

They are truly afraid now.

They fear that Su Bai will be reincarnated as Red Boy and destroy the West in the future.

They feared that Su Bai might cause trouble on the journey to the West and ruin the overall situation.

Now that Su Bai is neither reincarnating nor causing trouble, but simply living as a carefree dragon king in the North Sea, this is the best possible outcome for the West!

"We'll be thankful as long as he doesn't cause trouble!" Manjushri Bodhisattva exclaimed.

"Yes, please don't cause trouble, please don't..." Bodhisattva Samantabhadra also began to pray.

The Buddha, seeing the reactions of these Bodhisattvas, was both amused and exasperated.

How could a dignified Western Buddhist sect be so frightened by a dragon?

But there's nothing we can do; Su Bai's past and future lives are just so terrifying.

"Enough, enough," Buddha shook his head. "As long as he behaves himself and the overall trend of the Journey to the West remains unchanged, our Western Paradise will still prosper."

In the light screen

The video continues to play.

The Dragon Palace of Beihai is shrouded in the stillness of night.

Su Bai held Yang Chan in his arms as they sat on the terrace of the Dragon Palace, gazing at the stars in the sky.

Before the two of them was a jar of celestial wine and several small dishes.

"Husband, have a drink." Yang Chan poured Su Bai a glass of wine, smiling broadly.

"Okay." Su Bai took the wine glass and drank it all in one gulp.

The two of them drank and chatted, thoroughly enjoying themselves.

But as he drank, Su Bai's eyes suddenly became somewhat unfocused.

"Husband?" Yang Chan noticed Su Bai's unusual behavior. "What's wrong?"

Su Bai didn't say anything, but silently poured himself another glass of wine.

Then, a tear suddenly rolled down his cheek.

"Husband?!" Yang Chan exclaimed in surprise, "What is this...?"

Su Bai wiped his eyes and said with a wry smile, "It's nothing, it's just... I was reminded of some things from the past."

"Past events?" Yang Chan asked, puzzled.

Su Bai looked at the wine glass in his hand, his gaze drifting into the distance.

"Back in Flower Fruit Mountain..." Su Bai murmured, "My six brothers and I spent our days drinking and eating meat, having a wonderful time."

"Big Brother Monkey is the most generous; he never uses a cup to drink, he just grabs the wine jar and chugs it down."

"Old Niu has the biggest appetite; he can eat ten cows in one meal."

"Yu Rong Wang always tries to steal my drinks, saying I can't hold my liquor."

"The Roc Demon King likes to boast, saying he can fly to the ends of the earth."

"The Lion Camel King is the most prudent; he always advises us to drink less, lest we get drunk and make mistakes."

"The Monkey King, on the other hand, loves to joke around and always manages to make us laugh out loud."

As Su Bai spoke, tears streamed down her face uncontrollably.

"Back then, we seven brothers swore an oath to become the Seven Great Sages, vowing to roam the Three Realms together, fight against the Heavenly Court together, and live a carefree and joyful life together."

"But now..."

Su Bai's voice choked with emotion.

"Now, King Yu Rong is dead, slain by Nezha."

"Old Niu was suppressed by a Buddhist Arhat, and his fate is unknown."

"The Lion Camel King, the Roc Demon King, and the Macaque King have all been scattered and their whereabouts are unknown."

"The monkey is trapped under the Five Elements Mountain, unable to move."

"Only I am left..."

Su Bai raised her head, looked at the starry sky, and tears blurred her vision.

"Only I remain, here in the North Sea as the Dragon King, living a life of luxury, surrounded by beautiful women, like a god."

"But these days..."

Su Bai gripped the wine glass tightly, his voice trembling as he said:

"Is this really the life I want?"

"Back when the seven of us brothers drank together, we didn't have this much fine wine and food, nor this comfortable environment, but we were happy!"

"We're free to do whatever we want, go wherever we want!"

"That's true freedom!"

"But now..."

Su Bai looked at the wine glass in her hand, tears falling into it.

"Now I'm enjoying myself here, but what about my brothers?"

"Some are dead, some are imprisoned..."

"How can I possibly feel at ease drinking here?"

"How could I... how could I..."

Su Bai's voice grew softer and softer until she finally uttered those words almost as a sob:

Lingxiao Palace

All the immortals and gods were stunned by this scene.

They, who had just been relieved that Su Bai had behaved himself, all fell silent.

Venus's smile froze on his face.

The Jade Emperor's pride vanished without a trace.

The Buddhas of the West changed their expressions drastically.

Because they all realized one thing—

Su Bai is not as well-behaved as they imagined!

He's just suppressing it!

Suppressing the anger and sadness in my heart!

This repression could erupt at any moment!

In the light screen

Su Bai looked at the wine glass in her hand, tears streaming down her face.

Yang Chan wanted to comfort him, but didn't know what to say.

Because she knew that the pain in Su Bai's heart could not be soothed by a few words.

Su Bai trembled as he raised the wine glass to his lips.

But just as the wine was about to enter his mouth, his hand stopped.

"Brothers..." Su Bai choked up, "You are still suffering, while I am enjoying myself here..."

"This wine..."

Su Bai's tears fell into the wine glass.

"How can I possibly drink this?"
