"We've arrived."

Patton, holding onto the hatch, glanced back at the group of defeated soldiers behind him.

Steve's shield was deformed, and his expression was as solemn as a marble statue about to shatter.

Thor hung his head, still questioning his existence because his Thunder Strike had failed to work.

Natasha helped Dr. Banner, whom she had found along the way.

Only Frank and Jane looked relatively relaxed, seemingly unaffected by Ultron's threat.

Jane, on the contrary, seemed quite happy, clutching the magic wand tightly and refusing to let go.

"Where am I?" Steve looked around.

"It doesn't look like a secret S.H.I.E.L.D. base; it looks more like... some farmer's land."

"It is indeed a farm."

Barton took a deep breath, and his tense shoulders relaxed.

The fierce killing intent dissipated, replaced by a gentleness that comes with fatherhood.

He strode toward the white two-story wooden house not far away.

"This is my safe house."

The group looked at each other in bewilderment and had no choice but to follow.

As soon as I reached the door, the wooden door was pushed open.

"dad!"

Two small figures shot out like cannonballs.

A little boy and a little girl, their eyes sparkling with innocent surprise, hugged Patton's legs on either side.

"Be careful, Dad's covered in dust."

As Barton spoke, he pulled the two children into his arms tightly and gave his youngest daughter a big kiss on the head.

At the doorway, a woman wearing a plaid shirt and sporting a pregnant belly leaned against the doorframe, a warm smile on her face—Laura Barton.

"That explains it."

Thor stood at the bottom of the steps, watching this heartwarming scene.

He shrank back somewhat awkwardly, as if afraid he might accidentally trample the grass.

"This mortal's house... doesn't look very durable."

Steve stood frozen in place, unable to hide the shock in his eyes.

He looked at Natasha: "Are you aware of this?"

"I know, but I've never bothered you, Captain."

Natasha shrugged, walked over and gave Laura a hug, expertly patting Laura's pregnant belly.

"Has the little guy been behaving well lately? He hasn't kicked you, has he?"

"Auntie Xiaona!"

The youngest daughter, Lila, pointed at Natasha and screamed.

At this moment, the Avengers, who were just fighting to the death with mechanical monsters in the Midgard Shipyard, have become monsters who have stumbled into a fairy tale world.

Frank stood on the outermost edge, his black trench coat fluttering in the wind.

He watched the Barton family reunite, a phantom he once possessed but could now only touch in his nightmares.

He turned around, his back to the cabin, and took a cigar out of his pocket.

He didn't light it, but simply held it to his nose and inhaled the smell of tobacco, along with the earthy and grassy scent of the farm.

"Everyone, come in," Barton called to the group. "It's not a big place, but at least Ultron won't find it."

The crowd filed in.

The living room wasn't big, but it was filled with Lego bricks, paintbrushes, and children's books.

This chaotic yet lively atmosphere brought a long-lost sense of peace to Steve, who was used to the neatness of military camps.

"Sorry, I've brought the battlefield to your doorstep."

Steve nodded apologetically to Laura.

"As long as he comes back alive, I'll take anything with him."

Laura poured water for everyone, her gaze lingering tenderly on Barton.

This brief moment of warmth, like a thin veil, temporarily shielded the world from the shadow of impending destruction outside the window.

However, this veil was soon torn apart.

"Thor, don't step on that Lego! That's the Death Star Cooper spent a week building!"

Just as Barton finished shouting, a strange chewing sound came from the kitchen.

Everyone immediately became alert.

Natasha reached for the stun gun on her outside thigh, while Frank drew his gun and pointed it at the kitchen curtain.

"Who's inside?"

Steve asked in a deep voice.

The curtain was lifted by a black hand.

A bald man wearing a black leather jacket and an eye patch came out.

He held a slice of freshly toasted bread in one hand, with a piece of the edge already bitten off, and a steaming cup of coffee in the other.

"I must say, Patton."

Fury chewed on his toast, looking at the bread in his hand with a look of disgust.

"Your toaster needs replacing. The heat is extremely uneven; this side is burnt."

"Frey?!"

The expressions on everyone's faces were even more interesting than when they saw Ultron.

"Weren't you...dead?"

Steve frowned. Although he had guessed that Fury would fake his death, he didn't expect the old fox to appear here.

"That's to put Hydra at ease so they can sleep peacefully."

Fury walked to the dining table and unceremoniously pulled out the head seat and sat down.

His posture made it seem as if this wasn't Barton's home, but his S.H.I.E.L.D. office.

"And don't point a gun at me, Frank." Fury's one eye swept over the Punisher. "My heart isn't strong enough to take a scare."

Frank snorted, put away his gun, and leaned against the shadows in the corner: "You'd better spit out something useful, not breadcrumbs."

"Ultron".

Fury put down his coffee cup, his expression turning cold.

"This thing is not just a program, nor is it just a madman."

Fury crossed his arms and rested them on his chin.

"Although most of my global data network is paralyzed, I still have a few eyes that are usable."

"He went to Seoul."

"Seoul?" Jane frowned slightly. "Wait, he went to see Zhao Hailun?"

"Bingo." Fury snapped his fingers. "Cradle of Regeneration."

"That thing can print human tissue, perfectly fusing vibranium atoms and cells."

Steve looked up, a flicker of horror in his eyes: "You mean..."

"Evolution." Fury's voice was deep, carrying a chilling undertone.

"Ultron doesn't just want to destroy humanity, he wants to replace humanity."

"He wants a body, a body that perfectly combines powerful genes and vibranium strength."

"Once he succeeds, he can upload his consciousness into that body..."

"That is the true god." Thor clenched his fist, his knuckles cracking. "A being more perfect than the Asgardians."

Silence fell over the room.

Everyone realized the seriousness of the problem.

Ultron, now just a metal frame, is already able to withstand Thor's hammer and absorb energy waves.

If he were given a vibranium body that wouldn't cause rejection...

That would be a massacre with no chance of winning.

"We must stop him."

Steve gripped his shield, his eyes regaining their resolve.

"Let's go now."

"etc."

From the silent corner came the voice of a boy.

Harry sat on the stairs, clutching a blue chip tightly in his hand.

That was Jarvis's remaining memory core after he was torn apart by Ultron.

The boy's face was pale, and his tattered steel armor looked somewhat comical.

In front of this group of gods, agents, and super soldiers, he felt like a clown who had stolen an adult's clothes.

"I...I'm not going."
