Hogwarts' Golden Glory
End of Chapter 367
Voldemort stood beside the withered tree, the hem of his dark robes fluttering slightly in the wind. His face was clearer than before, no longer the blurry outline attached to someone else, but with a complete skeletal shape, pale skin, a flat nose, and dark red eyes, as if it had been reassembled in some deeper space.
He held the wand firmly in his hand, and the tip of the wand did not wobble.
Harry stood to Kane's left, his wand already raised, but Voldemort's gaze did not fall on him.
He was looking at Kane, as if reconfirming his silhouette with his gaze. Behind him, the men in dark robes were slowly approaching, forming a loose circle, as if awaiting a command.
"I've waited a long time for you," Voldemort said. "Not for Potter. For you."
His wand twitched slightly, its direction shifting from Harry's chest to Kane's.
Harry felt the feeling of being locked on weaken, as if it had been transferred to someone else.
"I originally intended to use your body to resurrect."
"Your body is more suited to me than I imagined," Voldemort continued. "The Slytherin blood flows more concentrated in your veins. Those Horcruxes only locked away a portion of my power, but they never truly made me whole. And you—you are the closest I've ever come to being whole."
"But I can't wait."
"How do you have a physical body?" Kane asked.
"My power is an energy strong enough to destroy the world; I believe it's even more advanced than magic! After you die, I will unify the magical world and then completely master this energy!"
Voldemort said that a dark red light had begun to emanate from the tip of his staff.
Kane didn't wait for him to finish speaking.
He made the first move.
A beam of silvery-white light shot out from the tip of his staff, passing straight through the distance between the two.
Voldemort sidestepped to block, raising his hand to return a beam of green light, but Kane had already deflected it before it arrived. The two beams of light met in the air between them, exploded, and left a blinding trail of light in the darkness for a moment.
The second wave of attacks arrived quickly, faster and denser than the first, pressing in from multiple directions simultaneously.
Kane didn't retreat; he stood still, the light at the tip of his staff shining continuously, like a line being stretched taut. He blocked three waves of attacks, then adjusted the angle of the staff tip, making the light thinner and brighter, slicing towards Voldemort.
Voldemort sidestepped most of the way, but a thin beam of light still grazed his cheek, leaving a long, thin scratch. It didn't bleed, but the edges were tinged with a burnt, dark gray.
His expression froze at that moment; he hadn't expected Kane's strength to have reached such a level!
Kane has completely surpassed him now!
He raised his wand, and a dark red light quickly gathered before he fired a thick beam of light towards Kane.
Kane did not try to dodge; he stood still and unleashed his magic in front of the beam of light.
Two beams of light collided, tore, and eroded each other between the two, and the exploding arcs of light spread outwards, while the air twisted and deformed in the high temperature.
Dust was kicked up from the ground, forming a circular shockwave that spread outwards before disappearing.
Just then, a crack appeared in the air behind Voldemort.
Golden light spilled out from the crack and then expanded.
A deep purple light also shone from the other side, arriving almost simultaneously with the golden light.
Dumbledore emerged from the golden rift on the right, wand already in his hand, a silver beam shooting toward Voldemort's flank.
Grindelwald stepped out from the purple light on the left, moving even faster, and threw an unconscious snake at Kane's feet!
His wand wasn't pointed at Voldemort, but at the ground behind him—a dark crack spread out along the tip of his wand, like a plow being slowly pushed, carving a continuous fissure in the ground beneath Voldemort's feet.
The three beams of light converged around Voldemort at the same time, like three pillars that were reassembling and expanding in space, intertwining with each other at the center.
Voldemort stood at the center of the intertwined light; the light at the tip of his staff was still trying to maintain its structure, but it could no longer remain stably in a fixed position.
"Nagini?"
"Wait! How did you all end up here?"
Voldemort's face showed panic; he had a feeling that something bad was about to happen!
"You will die here," Dumbledore said. "This time, no one will be there to clean up your mess."
“I’ve been dead for a long time,” Voldemort said, “but that doesn’t stop me from coming back. As long as there’s a piece of me somewhere else, I’ll come back and find a new vessel. Do you think I care about this body? It’s just a temporary vehicle. I have other vessels that you can’t find. Even if you destroy one, I can grow back from somewhere else. You can stop me once, but you can’t stop me forever.”
Kane put away his wand. He took out all of Voldemort's remaining Horcruxes!
Voldemort stopped moving. His gaze fell on the Horcrux; the light at the tip of the staff dimmed for a moment, as if interfered with by some external signal. "...Where did you find it?"
"You left too much stuff in other people's hands," Kane said. "I just put it back."
Voldemort's gaze swept quickly across the objects, searching for any marks that belonged to him!
His expression changed from anger to fear. His lips parted as if he wanted to say something, but he only managed to utter a short syllable.
"No! Spare me! I can teach you more dark magic, I can even make you immortal!"
For the first time, fear appeared on Voldemort's face!
They even started begging for mercy.
However, Kane ignored them and instead took out the Gryffindor sword, destroying all the Horcruxes one by one!
what!what!
Two agonizing screams rang out!
Voldemort and Harry screamed simultaneously!
"I didn't bring Harry here to deliver your head! I brought him here to destroy your last Horcrux!"
Kane cast a spell directly at Harry, who immediately lost consciousness.
Before he fell into a coma, his face was full of disbelief.
"This time you're really going to disappear!" Kane said.
With the final three spells, Voldemort's body turned to dust and vanished into the magical world.
Harry slowly opened his eyes from his unconsciousness. His vision was blurry, but he saw Kane standing beside him, holding the sword in his hand. A faint light still lingered on the edge of the blade, slowly fading away. His scars were fading.
"He's dead?" Harry's voice was a little hoarse.
"He's dead," Kane said.
Harry reached out and touched his forehead. The scar was still there, but its color had faded considerably, as if it had lost all the weight it once bore.
"Why did you cast a spell on me just now?" he asked.
"Let those two explain this to you," Kane said.
Kane killed Voldemort, and the news spread quickly throughout the wizarding world.
People didn't believe it, since they believed Voldemort had died more than a decade ago.
However, Kane's later actions revealed to them that a new demon king had emerged in this world!
He executed all the Death Eaters who had committed murder and destroyed all the families that secretly supported Voldemort.
Initially, the wizarding world wanted Dumbledore to stop Kane, but Dumbledore directly stated that he was not capable of subduing Kane and that he supported Kane!
From then on, the Malfoy family became the most powerful family in the wizarding world.
Years later, the centuries-old divide between the magical world and the Muggle world began to change.
Muggles can be transformed into wizards through a potion, although their magical reserves are lower than those of normal wizards.
On the day the Ministry of Magic publicly acknowledged the existence of wizards, it issued its first joint statement.
The statement was short, only two pages long, but its content underwent many rounds of revisions and deliberations, and was reviewed many times to ensure that the wording would not cause panic.
The statement begins: "Following joint consultations between the Ministry of Magic and the Muggle government, it has been decided that, effective immediately, channels of communication between the magical world and the Muggle world will be gradually opened."
The following content mainly covers transitional arrangements, including how to gradually remove information barriers between the two locations and how to establish a regular communication mechanism.
The Malfoy family was undergoing a fundamental transformation during that period.
Lucius was the first to realize the direction of the change, but he did not actively promote those changes. He simply adjusted the allocation of family assets to ensure that the Malfoy family could occupy a suitable position in all important matters under the new joint system.
He attended the first meeting of the Joint Committee between the Wizarding World and the Muggle World as one of the British representatives.
Narcissa also began to participate in some more public events, hosting discussions on the intersection of magic and Muggle technology, as if she were exploring a new direction for the family.
Draco gradually found his place during those years.
His primary area of responsibility is mediation and coordination—in cases where misunderstandings arise between magic and Muggles, he is usually the one sent to respond, handle the friction, and ensure that they do not escalate into irreconcilable differences.
He doesn't possess the overwhelming power of Kane, nor is he as adept at strategizing as Lucius, but he excels at handling relationships that require continuous communication to progress, finding smoother paths within established systems.
Kane rarely appeared in public during those years.
He appears more often when problems require his intervention to resolve—such as ancient magical artifacts whose ownership is not yet clearly defined, or border areas that cannot be defined by rules alone.
Every time he appears, his identity is reaffirmed in some way.
That autumn, the first official joint building between the wizarding world and the Muggle world was completed in London.
There were no signs at the entrance of the building, only a black stone tablet with a short inscription: "This is an open door that will never be closed again."
Thus, the two worlds were completely merged.
