The surface of the black-gold armor shimmered with red light. A semi-transparent black force field suddenly expanded fifty meters around the Devourer.

Sixty supersonic plasma torpedoes, trailing devastating white light, crashed into the black force field. No explosion was heard. A violent spatial distortion occurred on the force field's surface. The torpedoes' kinetic energy and the plasma's high temperature were forcibly captured by this higher-dimensional rule, smoothly transitioning along the force field's curvature.

Ninety degrees of refraction.

Within 0.1 seconds of contact with the force field, all sixty torpedoes changed direction, flying back along their original trajectories at a faster speed than when they came.

Boom boom boom.

The sound of explosions echoed continuously across the enemy's positions.

Sixty torpedoes slammed into the three heavily armored military trains. The Punishment-class train on the right didn't even have time for its shields to reach maximum power before being overwhelmed by its own firepower. The carriages were blown in half, and the fusion engine exploded instantly. Thousands of tons of train debris, mixed with broken steel, shot hundreds of meters into the air. An entire enemy force was wiped out in an instant.

In the damaged military train next to it, the carriage doors were violently kicked open.

Hundreds of dark figures leaped out of the train. Their speed was illogical. These people wore the uniforms of the 04 Base Expeditionary Force, but their faces beneath their helmets had been completely corroded by living metal. Metallic veins covered their features; there were no pupils, only empty red light.

Deeply parasitic modified zombies.

Ignoring the black flames on the ground, they used the high-frequency catapults on their feet to leap directly onto the roof and side armor of the Devourer. Wielding high-frequency vibrating battle blades, they attempted to slice through the train's outer shell and enter for hand-to-hand combat.

Wang Hu was about to turn the cannon around.

"Keep loading. Ignore what's outside," Su Yuan ordered without turning his head.

The paradoxical armor on his left arm emitted a strong, eerie blue light. The rule is absolutely defined. The outer layer of the vehicle's armor is redefined as an "absolute superconducting electrode."

As soon as the words were spoken, the Purifying-class fusion furnace at the bottom of the Devourer roared. A massive amount of energy poured out instantly along the armor's patterns.

A giant electric grid of abyssal blue flames exploded directly onto the vehicle's surface. Millions of volts of high-voltage arcs completely enveloped the Devourer.

The assassins who had just jumped onto the roof of the vehicle didn't even have time to scream. Their high-frequency combat blades instantly vaporized. Next came their living metal armor, and finally their bones and flesh. Hundreds of plumes of white steam exploded in mid-air. Not a single drop of blood landed on the roof. Clean and swift.

The ruins of a hidden bunker on the edge of the battlefield.

Thirty-odd blood-soaked veterans lay prone in the trenches. The heavy machine gun beside them had long since run out of ammunition. Several men, bare entrenching tools in hand, prepared for a final hand-to-hand combat. Not far ahead lay hordes of deep-space parasites.

The next second, a heavily armored train, entirely black and radiating terrifying pressure, tore through the storm and surged into the battlefield. Enemy torpedoes were deflected and blasted into friendly forces. Hundreds of modified suicide soldiers, impenetrable even by ordinary artillery, instantly turned into white smoke upon contact with the black train's hull.

The surviving company commander stared intently through his cracked gas mask at a mottled patch of paint on the front of the black tanks.

JY-007.

The initial serial number of the Pangu Project expeditionary force, launched fourteen years ago.

The company commander abruptly ripped off his mask, revealing a scarred face, tears mingling with blood streaming down his face. He grabbed the unconscious communications soldier beside him and roared in a hoarse voice, "Reinforcements! Our reinforcements! The 007 crew isn't all dead. They're back!"

Thirty-odd veterans picked up their broken weapons again, and from somewhere they found a surge of strength, bursting out in the trenches a desperate and fanatical cry.

In the remaining two disciplinary-level military trains, Zhao Xiao watched in exasperation as the red dots on the radar were instantly cleared. His hands flew across the control panel as he entered the highest-level password.

The top armor of the two military trains slid open to the sides. Two massive cannons, each with a caliber exceeding twenty meters, slowly rose. A terrifying vortex of black energy condensed within the muzzles. The surrounding light was directly swallowed by this energy. Antimatter detonation cannons. The ultimate deterrent weapon of Base 04.

"Prepare to charge," Zhao Xiao ordered through gritted teeth.

At the same time, he pressed a red button on the far edge of the control panel. Releasing the servants bestowed upon him by the master of deep space.

The ground directly in front of the Devourer suddenly bulged violently. Patches of frozen soil cracked. A gigantic worm, over a kilometer long and hundreds of meters in diameter, burst forth from the earth. The Star-Eating Worm.

Its body was covered with rings of extremely sharp, circular teeth. It had no eyes; its head consisted only of a gaping maw large enough to swallow half a football field. From its mouth constantly spewed forth strong acid and black fire. The giant insect's enormous body coiled directly in front of the train, blocking all its path.

Zhao Xiao grinned maliciously. "Once my antimatter cannon is fully charged, you'll all turn into cosmic dust along with this worm."

Inside the control room, Su Yuan stared at the gaping maw ahead. He didn't slow down. His right foot was firmly planted on the accelerator pedal. The Purifying World-class fusion reactor was overloaded to 150%. The Devourer's chassis trembled violently.

Su Yuan yanked down the activation lever for the ramming vane at the front of the vehicle. The vane at the very front, infused with the materials and power of the abyss, suddenly emitted a blinding black light. The high-dimensional tearing force shattered the air dozens of meters ahead.

Su Yuan straightened the steering wheel. He crashed into it.

The Devourer transformed into a massive, black sword without a guard, hurtling straight into the jaws of the thousand-meter-tall behemoth. Trailing a long, purplish-black tail of flame, it charged directly at the maw of the colossal beast.

The giant insect let out a deafening shriek. Its massive jaws, filled with sharp teeth, slammed shut, attempting to crush the reckless tin ant.

However, the moment the rammed ram made contact with the sharp teeth, those fangs, powerful enough to crush battleship armor, shattered into powder. The Devourer plunged into the behemoth's mouth without any resistance. The black-gold armor completely blocked the strong acid gushing from the behemoth's mouth.

The train surged forward, ravaging the giant worm's body. Digestive organs, flesh, and thick nerve bundles along its path were shredded into a bloody pulp by the high-speed impacts and the slicing action of the impact points. It pierced through the beast's head and continued downwards along its massive spine.

Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack! The vertebrae snapped inch by inch. In less than ten seconds, the Devourer burst forth from the giant worm's tail.

A colossal deep-space beast, thousands of meters in size, was cleaved in two from head to tail. Its massive body crashed to either side, causing the earth to tremble violently. A torrent of black blood gushed from the severed body like a waterfall. Wherever the black blood passed, it instantly extinguished the remaining black flames within a three-mile radius. A stench filled the air.

The Devourer burst out of the giant insect's body, its entire body covered in dripping black blood.

Su Yuan pressed the forced operation button for the refining furnace.

Thirty-six dark gold conduits shot out from the side wall of the carriage, piercing directly into the still-twitching remains of the giant worm. The tips of the conduits extended sharp claws, gripping the beast's spinal core and high-level flesh and marrow. The negative pressure of absorption was fully activated.

The immense life essence and hardened skeleton of a thousand-meter-long behemoth were forcibly drained by the refining furnace. The remains visibly shriveled up. The furnace chamber emitted ear-piercing clanging sounds and energy neutralization explosions. The energy of the Purifying-level core was directly poured into the smelting pool.

The data stream from the small fire projected rapidly on the screen. Acquiring deep-space core biometal. Fusion energy fused. Armor analysis complete. Reforging complete.

A single armor plate on top of the vehicle's front flipped upwards, revealing a brand-new main gun mount. The gun barrel was dark black, covered with fine, blood-red nerve networks, and its interior contained purely electromagnetic acceleration tracks.

[Deep Space Special Forces - Star Piercing Main Cannon Rail] Deployed.

Thirty kilometers away, the antimatter secondary detonator on Zhao Xiao's command vehicle finally completed its charge. Two pure black energy beams had converged to the critical point.

"Launch!" Zhao Xiao roared and pressed the launch button.

Su Yuan looked at the main control screen and casually pushed the main gun firing lever up with his right hand. Locked onto the command vehicle. Fire.

The Star-Piercing Cannon emitted a deep, ear-splitting roar. An extremely thin, jet-black beam of light shot from its muzzle, exceeding one percent of the speed of light. There was no flashy explosion.

The beam of light instantly traversed thirty kilometers, piercing directly through the energy cluster that had just left the antimatter cannon. The antimatter cluster was dispersed in mid-air by the rules of a higher dimension, transforming into harmless ripples.

The beam continued forward, piercing through the composite heavy shields of the two punitive-class military trains without any hindrance. Completely annihilated.

The shield shattered instantly. Next came the five-meter-thick armored section of the front half of the train. The front half of both trains, along with the main control room and fire control modules, evaporated into thin air in that instant. Not even molten iron remained. The break was smooth as a mirror. Only the rear half of the carriages, without power, slid forward for dozens of meters due to inertia before crashing heavily onto the frozen ground.

Zhao Xiao's command center was completely destroyed.

The Devourer slowly came to a stop in front of the ruins of the remaining half of the military train.

Wang Hu controlled a massive crane arm, extending a hydraulic claw into the burning wreckage. He precisely gripped a humanoid object, yanked it out, and flung it into the muddy ground outside the side door of the Devourer.

Zhao Xiao didn't die. His expensive escape shield saved his life, but his mechanical prosthetics were blown to pieces, and he suffered severe internal bleeding.

He lay prone in the muddy water, vomiting black blood mixed with fragments of internal organs, when he raised his head. Looking down at Su Yuan and Ji Yun standing inside the car door, Zhao Xiao let out an extremely cruel and grotesque grin.

"So what if you win this round?" He coughed up blood, his eyes filled with a madness and despair. "The First Control Tower has long been completely corrupted by the Eye of Deep Space. The entire underlying architecture has become a breeding ground for monsters. The launch code for the Sky Orbiter has been tampered with; you'll never be able to activate it. The Great Wall is finished, and Earth is finished."

Zhao Xiao laughed as he spat out blood. "When the master arrives, you will all be buried with me."

Su Yuan remained silent. Ji Yun stepped forward with a cold face. His military boots stomped directly on Zhao Xiao's remaining mechanical leg, grinding it forcefully. A piercing sound of metal deforming rang out. Zhao Xiao let out a pig-like scream.

"You bunch of idiots, do you even deserve to talk about the underlying structure of the Great Wall?" Ji Yun looked down at the rubble on the ground, and pulled a bloodstained bone gear from her pocket with her right hand. It was the keystone she had dug out of her collar.

"When we built the first main control tower, I personally left an independent physical disconnect loop in the underlying emergency system. It doesn't go through the external network or connect to any wireless signals. It's purely physical triggering. As long as the keystone is inserted into the base, even if the Deep Space Eye eats the tower to the bone, the railgun can still be ignited." Ji Yun's voice was as cold as ice. "You will never understand what the old expeditionary force left behind."

Zhao Xiao's sinister smile froze on his face, his pupils dilating violently. "Impossible. Absolutely impossible. It was clearly checked above."

"Keeping you around is just a waste of air." Su Yuan turned around and walked back to the driver's seat.

Wang Hu pressed a button. The refining furnace's guide tube instantly popped out, grabbing Zhao Xiao on the ground and dragging him directly into the raging furnace chamber. After a short scream, Zhao Xiao turned into pure slag and a few drops of waste oil.

The Devourer restarted. The chariot reversed and stopped in front of the bunker of the remnants of the Xuanwu Garrison.

Su Yuan opened the side carriage door. Wang Hu jumped off the vehicle and threw out two extremely thick towing hooks. He forcefully dragged over the two remaining abandoned troop transport carriages next to the bunker. The hooks were firmly locked into the coupling slots at the rear of the Devourer.

The eighty seriously wounded veterans of the entire company helped each other, dragging their broken bodies and severed limbs, and limped into the carriage.

The old company commander stood in front of the hatch, giving a perfectly standard salute towards the cockpit—a salute so forceful it reopened his wound. "Return to the unit," the veteran's voice was hoarse.

Su Yuan nodded. "Find a seat. We're going to retrieve what belongs to humanity."

The tracks rolled over the wreckage, and the Devourer, dragging two troop transports, sped towards the first main control tower atop the distant cliff.

The primary control tower is built on a vertical cliff several hundred meters high, piercing the clouds.

The massive black tower was covered with tens of thousands of deep-space parasitic dragons. These dragons resembled prehistoric pterosaurs, their wings made entirely of living metal and rotting flesh, spewing dark green acid that constantly corroded the alloy outer walls of the main control tower.

Below the cliff, the three-headed, mountain-like, ten-thousand-ton armored behemoths, the "Earthshaker," were frantically ramming and dismantling the lower supporting columns of the main control tower, like giant battering rams.

The Earthshaker, with its massive, pillar-like limbs and thick black bone plates on its back, withstood the barrage of fire from the remaining automatic cannons of the main control tower. One after another, the enormous load-bearing columns snapped. The entire steel behemoth, thousands of meters high, swayed precariously in the black wind, its metallic groans echoing for dozens of kilometers.

Once the tower collapses, the railgun will be permanently lost.

The Devourer stopped on a high ground five kilometers from the cliff. Ji Yun dragged her extremely weak body to the main control panel. She forcefully inserted the bloodstained command key stone into the highest-level external interface of the communicator.

Full-band codec cracking. The channel directly covers all loudspeakers and radios along the entire first line of defense of the Great Wall. A flash of electrical static.

Ji Yun gripped the control panel tightly with both hands, his lips pale, and let out a roar into the microphone, a roar he hadn't heard in fourteen years.

"I am Ji Yun, commander of the 011 tank crew of the First Expeditionary Force of the Great Wall. All Great Wall defenders still breathing, regardless of which line you belong to, regardless of whether you have any ammunition left, move towards me. This is the final rallying order. We are going to recapture the main gun. We're going to blast a hole through the earth."

The broadcast echoed across the tens of thousands of square kilometers of ruins. It reverberated in burning bunkers, in trenches piled high with corpses, and in underground shelters where communications had been cut off.

The battle cry was like a spark falling into dry tinder.

A few kilometers away, amidst a pile of metal rubble, an old-fashioned mech, one leg broken and its reactor about to shut down, suddenly rose from the corpses. A faint green light flickered from the detectors in the mech's eyes.

On a distant hillside, the hatch of a semi-underground bunker, already presumed dead, was kicked open. Three infantrymen, their bodies wrapped in bandages, crawled out, carrying a nearly rusted anti-tank rocket launcher.

Amidst the ruins, the inferno, and the edges of the fissures in the earth, dozens, even hundreds, of wrecked old-fashioned mechs, half-destroyed armored vehicles, and even individual soldiers wielding rifles rose one by one from the piles of corpses. There was no reply to communications, only the faint green lights representing the mobilization response, lighting up one after another in this hellish scene where night and black fire intertwined.

Su Yuan stared at the scattered green spots on the radar, his eyes icy cold. He abruptly drew his high-frequency thermoelectric blade from his waist. The blade electrified, emitting a blinding red light.

Wang Hu gripped the firing handle of the quadruple-mounted large-caliber autocannon with both hands. Tang Lan pulled the bolt, and a special dark gold armor-piercing round was chambered. Jiang Yu closed his eyes, and his living blood vessels took over the radar blind spots of the entire vehicle. The eighty remaining soldiers of the Xuanwu Company placed their rifles on the firing ports of the vehicle.

All weapons on the vehicle are loaded.

Su Yuan slammed the accelerator pedal to the floor. The Devourer unleashed its most violent purplish-black shockwave, tearing through the sound barrier five kilometers away. Transforming into an unparalleled black lightning bolt, it crashed headlong into the tidal wave of parasitic dragons and behemoths below the cliff, hurtling straight towards the top of the main control tower.

Where the blade pointed, an army crumbled. The colossal Earthshaker in front slowly turned around, its blood-red eyes locking onto the black lightning bolt.

Countless dragons swooped down, letting out piercing screams. Their tracks crushed the first colossal beast skeleton in their path, the dull thud tearing through the twilight.

Below the sheer cliff, the flames of war soared into the sky. The fully-operated refining furnaces, amidst the roar of tanks, spewed forth molten lava thirty meters high. The main gun pedestals locked their elevation angle.

The crosshair is aimed at the last tightly closed heavy-duty gate at the top of the main control tower.

The blue flames inside the cannon chamber have reached their maximum fusion energy. The fire command is locked at the fingertips. A drop of engine oil falls onto a physical button on the main control panel.

The light at the moment the chariots collided with the beast horde overwhelmed everything.
