After the fake young master left home, he discovered that it wasn't raining at all outside.
Chapter 21 An extraordinary morning experience.
The first rays of morning sunlight streamed through the gaps in the bedroom curtains, falling onto the large, comfortable bed and adding a touch of light to the otherwise dark room.
Following this light, one could vaguely see Zhu Yan lying lazily on the bed, his eyes closed and half his face buried in the blanket.
If you look closely, you can vaguely see that there are quite a few people standing not far from the luxurious bed.
At six o'clock sharp, the alarm clock rang in the room, breaking the tranquility.
Zhu Yan stretched a hand out from under the covers and groped around the pillow until she finally found her phone, but didn't even glance at it.
Then it was turned off.
Last night, Zhu Mo sent over a large pile of documents, saying they were all internal documents of the Zhu family.
It's not that I'm letting him finish watching it in one night, but just letting him watch it for fun when he's bored. After all, he's still young. If he doesn't want to take over the family business so early, then let him play for a few more years.
But Zhu Yan wasn't the type to leave things to be done all at once. Since he'd been given the task, he figured he should finish reading it as soon as possible, since he'd promised Zhu Mo.
And so it was 3 a.m. again.
After struggling in bed for a while, Zhu Yan finally managed to open his eyes a crack. He checked his phone and saw that it was already past 6:10.
Using the faint light from his phone, he seemed to see several figures nearby, and shone the light through his phone.
"Good morning, young master!" The unified voices of more than a dozen people were deafening in the quiet bedroom.
"Oh my god..." Zhu Yan was so startled that his body trembled, his sleepiness vanished instantly, and he was so scared that he almost lost his soul.
Then, the two of them pulled back the curtains in the room, and Zhu Yan, having been scared away from her drowsiness, was able to open her eyes wide and see the scene before her.
The servants stood in two rows, each holding a tray in both hands.
The school uniforms for the celebration were neatly folded, along with a pair of new white socks and a pair of new white sneakers. The brand was unclear, but the quality... suggested they were custom-made.
What surprised Zhu Yan even more was that several people brought him silver basins, towels, and even toothbrushes, tooth cups, face wash, and so on.
"What's going on?" Zhu Yansheng stared intently at Lin Shen, who was standing at the front, with a look of utter despair. His words were filled with deep resentment.
"Good morning, young master. We've come to help you get up this morning." Lin Shen had a standard professional smile on his face.
Perhaps it was because Zhu Yan was grumpy when she woke up, but there was a hint of provocation in that gentle smile.
Zhu Yan sat up in bed, leaning against the headboard with her left leg bent and her left hand casually resting on her left knee, staring at the scene before her with utter speechlessness.
The next second, Zhu Yan laughed in exasperation, casually scratching his hair with his right hand.
"Who came up with such a sneaky trick? Is this how you usually serve people? Didn't my brother and the others beat you to death?" Zhu Yan was very curious about who was so malicious as to try to scare him to death.
"Normally, the head of the family and the young masters would call the servants in when they get up, but the head of the family guessed that you wouldn't order us around, so he told us to be more proactive," Lin Shen explained.
"Can't we stand outside the door? So many people standing here, who are you trying to scare to death?" Luckily, the bedroom is ridiculously big, otherwise it wouldn't be able to accommodate so many people.
"We didn't know when you woke up. When we were waiting outside yesterday, you had already left." Lin Shen knew he had made a mistake. He lowered his head, his words full of apology. "I'm sorry, young master. I didn't think it through."
Zhu Yan remained silent, seemingly still recovering from the shock.
"Do you want to get up now? Or do you want to sleep a little longer?" Lin Shen asked tentatively.
"Why are you still sleeping?" Zhu Yan said irritably.
"Then we'll help you get up in the morning." With that, Lin Shen took the washbasin from the servant and presented it to Zhu Yan. Since Zhu Yan was sitting on the bed, he thoughtfully knelt down to lower the height.
"Young Master, the water seems a bit cold. Please wait a moment." Lin Shen touched the water through the basin and, sensing the temperature was off, promptly instructed the servant to change it.
"..."
"Why don't you just bring breakfast along too?"
"Okay, please wait a moment, I'll go tell the kitchen." Lin Shen didn't catch the sarcasm in Zhu Yan's words and actually went to talk to the kitchen through the earpiece.
"Are you...?" Zhu Yan wanted to curse, but ultimately couldn't bring herself to say it. "Never mind, it's alright."
……
"Young Master, breakfast has been prepared for you. Please move to the dining room in a moment," Lin Shen said as he straightened Zhu Yan's collar.
"I'm not eating." Zhu Yan didn't want to eat those unappetizing breakfasts at home. He couldn't quite understand why the richer and more powerful people were, the more they preferred foreign-style breakfasts.
Even if their so-called five-star chefs make a lot of fancy dishes out of a few slices of bread, it is still just bread.
Perhaps with various garnishes added to make this breakfast more visually appealing, it is still sweet.
Zhu Yan, on the other hand, doesn't like sweets.
He loves spicy food and can't live without it. So, in his opinion, the breakfast shops near the school are the ones he really wants.
"But... the head of the family and the others are already waiting for you to dine in the dining room..." Lin Shen opened the bedroom door for Zhu Yan, glanced at Zhu Yan, and answered cautiously.
"Now? What time is it? Why are they up so early?" Zhu Yan turned to Lin Shen with a shocked look.
"Why don't you go?"
Dining room--
Morning light streamed through the window and fell on the long table covered with a burgundy velvet tablecloth. On the silver rack, warm whole-wheat pancakes were arranged side by side, drizzled with pale golden Normandy honey. On the bone china plate next to them, Scottish smoked salmon was rolled with cream cheese, garnished with fresh dill bits and lemon wedges, a savory and refreshing dish.
The crystal bowl holds freshly cooked Burgundy red wine stewed pears, while the silver bowl contains Greek yogurt sprinkled with chopped nuts, paired with handmade berry jam, creating a delightful blend of sweet and sour flavors.
"Ayan is here, come on, sit here." Bai Zheng was the first to spot Zhu Yan, and with a beaming smile, she pulled Zhu Yan to sit down next to her.
Zhu Yan glanced around the restaurant; everyone was there. She opened her mouth, but ultimately swallowed her words of refusal.
Zhu Yan sat next to Bai Zheng and Zhu Qian, who kept putting breakfast onto their plates.
Zhu Yan picked at her food, dawdling over her bites, and then asked, "Why are you all up so early today?"
"You ran off without eating breakfast yesterday, so we're here to keep an eye on you today," Zhu Yu chimed in.
"I already ate at school," Zhu Yan retorted.
"Did you only eat a few bites? Look how thin you've become." Zhu Yu saw through Zhu Yan at a glance, but his gaze was full of heartache.
"Yes, eat more to replenish your nutrition." Bai Zheng strongly agreed with Zhu Yu's words.
Zhu Yan lowered his head and remained silent, gazing at the breakfast on his plate.
I want to cry without tears.
Finally, Zhu Yan made up an excuse that he would be late if he didn't leave, and ran away.
"Alright then, let the convoy take you to school." Zhu Mo didn't stop him anymore and instructed Lin Shen to take Zhu Yan to school.
"Wait a minute, Father. There's no need for a motorcade. Just send one car." Zhu Yan tried to stop Zhu Mo's high-profile behavior.
"How can you manage without anyone protecting you?" Zhu Mo clearly disagreed with Zhu Yan's approach.
"I'm not going to fight anyone at school, there's no danger, I won't get hurt." Zhu Yan really didn't want to go to school with a large convoy of vehicles. After what happened with the Wen family, he just wanted to keep a low profile.
Although Zhu Mo was constantly worried about Zhu Yan's safety, he couldn't go against Zhu Yan's wishes and could only give in to him.
But if Zhu Mo knew what happened later, she would want to slap her current self for making such a hasty decision.
