Chapter 94 Nighttime Confession to the Little Snake
As night fell, Harry tossed and turned, unable to fall asleep. He was still thinking about what had happened that morning.
Ron suddenly sat up and said that their eyes met, and they got up very consciously and went to the lounge together.
Ron slumped onto the sofa and sighed, "Brother, you know, you can tell me anything that's bothering you."
Harry rolled his eyes. "I don't want to talk about it. Ron, you interrupted my confession today."
Ron was shocked: "You're confessing?! To Malfoy?!" He scratched his head in annoyance, "Uh, I really didn't know, sorry, Harry."
"He didn't reply to me. What does that mean, Ron?" Harry frowned in thought.
Ron racked his brains, "No reply, but no rejection either—Harry, he definitely has feelings for you. Although I still find it hard to accept the fact that you like Malfoy, I support you, okay?"
Harry's eyes lit up, and he clapped his hands. "Ron, you're right—I'm going to find him right now!" he said, reaching for the Invisibility Cloak.
"Hey! Harry, you haven't solved my problem yet!" Ron quickly grabbed him. "Yeah, Hermione and I had a fight, you know?"
Harry asked, puzzled, "Don't you two often argue?"
Ron was jumping up and down in a panic. "This time it's different! I won't let her go see Krum during the summer vacation! Anyone with eyes can see that Krum has a thing for her! Look at this competition..."
Ron was at his wits' end. "Anyway, Krum is no good! Hermione can't be with him."
"I don't understand, Ron," Harry said anxiously, of course, he was eager to find Draco. "Didn't you like Krum a lot before? And Hermione is free to be friends with or date whoever she wants."
Harry paused, then suddenly had a flash of inspiration, "Ron, bro, you don't actually like Hermione, do you?"
Harry wasn't the first to discover it, but he was the first to tell Ron. Everyone else tacitly kept quiet about Hermione and Ron's situation, seemingly wondering when Ron would finally understand.
Ron stared, mouth agape, before finally managing to utter, "How could that be... I only considered Hermione a friend..."
"Whatever, bro," Harry shrugged. "You seem jealous. To be honest, I don't like Draco and Krum being together either."
"If you don't like Hermione, then stop interfering with her social life," Harry said hastily, ran back to his dorm to get his Invisibility Cloak, and hurried out the door.
Harry moved cautiously down the corridor and came to the door of the Slytherin common room, where he slipped inside behind a Slytherin student.
Harry found Draco's bedroom by memory, lifted the curtain on Draco's bed, slipped inside, and quietly cast a soundproofing spell.
Draco seemed exhausted and had already fallen asleep. Half his face was buried in the soft pillow, his blond hair spread out on the green sheets, his brows relaxed, and a smile playing on his lips; he looked like he was having a sweet dream.
Harry hesitated. He had to cancel his plan to wake Draco, after all, he really didn't want to disturb Draco's sleep.
He took off his invisibility cloak, lay quietly beside Draco, and slowly drifted off to sleep.
Draco swore to Merlin's beard that absolutely no one could remain calm when they were half-asleep in the morning and faced with Harry Potter's magnified face right up close.
What's more, those bright green eyes, reflecting the morning light from the window, were gazing at him with a smile. "Draco, good morning."
Merlin knew how much willpower Draco had used to suppress the scream that was about to burst from his throat. "Harry Potter, cough—do you need to explain why you're here?"
Draco's voice almost cracked from shock at first. He coughed and asked in a low voice.
"You can speak, Draco, I've cast a soundproofing spell," Harry said, giving a shy smile. "I just want an answer about what happened yesterday..."
He gazed at Draco with hopeful eyes. "You didn't reject me, did you?"
Draco kicked Harry expressionlessly, and when Harry hissed in pain and looked aggrieved, he smiled with satisfaction. "I certainly didn't refuse you yesterday..."
"Draco, I knew it..." Harry exclaimed with delight.
"But now I have to consider rejecting you." Draco's tone suddenly changed.
"...Huh?" Harry's smile suddenly froze. "What does this mean...?" His eyes reddened.
Draco, who had been smiling smugly, panicked when he saw Harry was about to cry. "No, Harry, I was just kidding. I promise you."
"Really?" Harry asked, tilting his head.
"Really," Draco said.
"Okay." A smile returned to Harry's face. He snuggled closer like a puppy, burying his face in Draco's shoulder. "I love you, Draco."
Draco froze. Why did he feel like he'd been tricked?
After a bit of bickering, Harry reluctantly put on the Invisibility Cloak at Draco's insistence.
Draco drew back the curtain, dispelling the soundproofing spell. Crabbe looked at him, puzzled. "Draco, your face is so red. Are you going to the hospital wing?"
"I'm fine!" Draco shouted. "You and Goyle go to the Great Hall first, don't wait for me!"
Crabbe and Goyle didn't think much of it, nodded and left. Theodore, who hadn't said a word, looked up from his desk and gave him a strange look.
"What are you looking at?" Draco glared.
"Draco, why are your lips so red?" Theodore squinted and smiled teasingly.
"It must have been from mosquito bites!" Draco said.
"Oh." Theodore chuckled and turned back to his notes. He just wanted to tease Draco, but he didn't really want to pry into Draco's privacy.
Draco breathed a sigh of relief. Harry had already left, following Crabbe and Goyle.
He stumbled into the Great Hall, dazed and confused, unable to believe what had happened. He was with Draco?! Harry pinched himself, wincing in pain, then burst out laughing. It wasn't a hallucination!
Harry put away the Invisibility Cloak and went to the Great Hall to find Ron. Ron was sitting in his seat, unusually without any appetite—he was trying to kill a fried egg with a silver fork.
Harry couldn't stand it anymore. "Leave the innocent fried egg alone, okay?" He sat down and excitedly shared the good news with Ron, "Ron, Draco agreed to date me!"
Ron gave a sullen reply, his eyes fixed on the person opposite him.
Harry looked up and saw that Krum had sat down on the Gryffindor side and was chatting happily with Hermione. Hermione smiled and showed Krum the book she was reading.
"He doesn't know anything about books," Ron muttered in a low voice, stabbing the fried egg in his hand with his fork, as if the golden fried egg in front of him was Victor Krum, who was stuck in his throat.
"Ron, to be honest," Harry said, "I see your jealousy, and it's strong enough to be visible."
