Granny Wang explained, "General, Madam, the older generation says that a rooster crowing at 5 PM is an auspicious sign."

"It seems the young general will recover soon!"

Zhao Yucheng and Ji Ping felt much relieved after Wang Mama's explanation.

Aunt Song, who was standing to the side, did not show any joy upon hearing this; instead, she was secretly plotting something.

"Mother, where is General Xiaoji?" Zhou Ruo asked, tugging at Ji Ping's sleeve.

"It's in the backyard, would you like to go see it?"

Zhou Ru nodded vigorously, her happy smile making everyone feel much happier.

Ji Ping understood that it was inevitable for a child to get bored staying indoors for too long.

She turned and instructed, "Siqiao, accompany Miss to see General Xiaoji. Protect Miss and make sure she doesn't get hurt."

Zhou Ruo followed Si Qiao to the backyard and saw several servants sweeping outside a fence.

Siqiao walked over and greeted one of the servants, "Wu Bing, Madam asked me to bring Miss to see General Xiaoji."

Wu Bing had been on guard in the backyard and had not seen Zhou Ruo before.

However, he had overheard the servants in the courtyard talking about how Zhou Ruo was someone who could get the young general to thank her.

Upon seeing her today, Wu Bing quickly flattered her, saying, "I'll take you inside to have a look right away, Miss."

Wu Bing opened the gate and led Zhou Ruo inside.

He pointed to the rooster inside a large circle surrounded by wooden stakes and said:

"Miss, this is General Xiaoji."

"Why is it called the Valiant Cavalry General?" Zhou Ruo asked after seeing the rooster's appearance clearly.

"This rooster was personally selected by the young general from the market when he was nine years old."

"Later, the young general took it to participate in cockfighting competitions, and it won every battle. It beat the roosters of the young masters of various noble families to a pulp."

"The young general thus took a great liking to it and named it 'General of the Valiant Cavalry'."

Wu Bing recounted the amusing anecdotes about the young general from back then, savoring the memories.

"What a majestic cavalry general! I want to go inside and touch it!" Zhou Ruo exclaimed excitedly.

"Absolutely not!" Wu Bing and Si Qiao exclaimed almost in unison.

"Why not?" Zhou Ruo asked, puzzled.

"Miss, this General of the Valiant Cavalry is not only good at cockfighting, but also at fighting people!"

"If anything happens to you or it, I can't bear the responsibility!"

Wu Bing was about to cry. Heaven knows he had guarded this chicken for three years, but now he had encountered such a little devil. He was probably going to suffer!

Siqiao panicked: "Miss, the Valiant Cavalry General is fierce! Last time, Wu Ding was pecked by it and his hands were covered in blood!"

She's just a kid; if you make the situation sound serious, she won't dare to act rashly, Siqiao thought to herself.

"Mommy, you're here!"

Siqiao and Wubing turned around to look, but there was no one there.

By the time they realized what was happening and turned around, Zhou Ruo had already entered the territory of the Valiant Cavalry General.

"Miss!" Siqiao was about to cry too. Why did this child not play by the rules?

Wu Bing was so frightened that he lost his senses and stopped walking at the gate of the fence, instead taking a step to cross the fence and go inside.

Zhou Ruo immediately stopped him: "Stop! If you come in, I'll punish you!"

"Don't worry, I'll be fine!"

After saying that, Zhou Ruo made a "shh" gesture to the two of them, signaling them to be quiet.

Wu Bing was stunned. He was stuck on the fence, with one foot inside and the other outside.

Siqiao really didn't dare to go in; those chickens were more ferocious than hunting dogs.

Inside the enclosure, upon first seeing someone enter, the valiant cavalry general let out a few low neighs and assumed a fighting stance.

When Zhou Ruo approached, it remained silent and still.

"General of the Valiant Cavalry," Zhou Ruo squatted down in front of the rooster, gently stroking the feathers on its back, and whispered:

"Your brother is sick and needs your help. Be good, okay?"

As if understanding Zhou Ruo's words, the valiant general suddenly pulled his feet back, prostrated himself on the ground, and appeared to be at her mercy.

Wu Bing and Si Qiao looked at each other outside the fence, completely bewildered.

As the sun set, the afterglow cast a golden glow on Zhou Ruo's face.

She fiddled with the rooster's comb for a while, and the valiant general became as obedient as a docile rabbit.

"This is absolutely incredible!" Wu Bing was shocked by what he saw.

"Even the young general back then could not make the valiant cavalry general so obedient."

Siqiao was also stunned, and unconsciously sighed:

"Could this young lady be a celestial being? Otherwise, how could she possess such extraordinary abilities?"

Zhou Ruo took three drops of blood from the rooster comb of the valiant general, dissolved them in her palm, and protected them with her spiritual power.

She did this with her back to Siqiao and Wubing, so they had no idea what she had done to the rooster.

"General of the Valiant Cavalry, you deserve credit for this!"

Zhou Ruo gently stroked the feathers again before getting up and walking away.

The valiant cavalry general also stood up and silently walked behind Zhou Ruo.

From Wu Bing and Si Qiao's perspective, the rooster looked almost like it was escorting Zhou Ruo out.

"Okay! Let's go back!" Zhou Ruo said to Si Qiao, looking up at her.

Then he winked at Wu Bing and instructed him, "Take good care of General Xiaoji!"

When Zhou Ruo returned to the front yard, she saw that Qiu Yue was already brewing medicine in the yard.

She went straight into the main room, where Zhao Jinzhong was still asleep.

She made a point of looking at Aunt Song's position before walking towards the bedside.

"Daddy, Mommy, I'm back!" Zhou Ruo ran over.

"Ouch!" Aunt Song suddenly cried out, only to realize that Zhou Ruo had bumped into her when she came to her senses.

"I'm sorry, Aunt Song, my foot slipped. I didn't mean to."

Zhou Ruo looked sincere, her soft voice full of apology.

Aunt Song had no choice but to suppress her anger and said sarcastically, "Miss Zhou Ru is really naughty. Be careful next time."

Zhao Yucheng and Ji Ping were focused on Zhao Jinzhong, and since Zhou Ruo's accident with Aunt Song hadn't caused a big fuss, they didn't pay much attention to it anymore.

Zhou Ruo hid next to Ji Ping, secretly glancing at Aunt Song's waist.

The black mist on the jade pendant gradually dissipated, but it did not completely dissipate.

A moment later, the black snake on Aunt Song's chest slowly broke open.

"Aunt Song!" Chun Tao, the maidservant, exclaimed in surprise.

Everyone looked over at the sound and saw Aunt Song holding her forehead, leaning on Chun Tao, almost fainting.

"What's wrong?" Zhao Yucheng and Ji Ping both stood up and went forward to ask.

"I suddenly feel some chest tightness and dizziness, probably because I didn't rest well at noon."

Aunt Song frowned, looking very uncomfortable.

"Let Doctor Yu come in and take a look," Zhao Yucheng instructed.

"No need, General, I'll just go back and rest for a while."

Since Aunt Song didn't need a doctor's treatment, and Zhao Yucheng was preoccupied with his son, he went along with her wishes:

"Chuntao, take good care of Aunt Song!"

Then he instructed Aunt Song, "If you feel unwell again, call Doctor Yu over."

"Thank you, General. I will take my leave now."

Zhou Ruo followed Aunt Song to the main house entrance and watched her being helped out of the Wude Courtyard gate by Chun Tao.

"The valiant general has done a great service this time!" she cheered softly.
