Chu Chen's cry was heart-wrenching.

All eyes in the carriage instantly turned to him.

The two train police officers were also taken aback and quickly separated Chu Erhai and the bespectacled man who were wrestling.

"Officer! He robbed me! He assaulted me for no reason!"

The woman with the permed hair got up from the ground, pointed at Chu Erhai's nose, and accused him first.

The bespectacled man, his nose bleeding profusely, covered his face and mumbled, "Yes! He's a madman! He kept shouting 'Jinshan'! We were just trying to be kind by giving the kids candy, and he started hitting us!"

The train police officer's face darkened as he turned to look at Chu Erhai, who was panting heavily.

"What happened? Why did you attack?"

Chu Erhai's mind was still a mess; all he could think about was his money, his gold mine.

"He...he's trying to steal my gold mine!" He pointed at the bespectacled man, his face flushed with anxiety.

"Jinshan? What Jinshan?" The train police officer frowned. This person was talking incoherently and didn't seem quite right.

The surrounding passengers were also talking amongst themselves, their eyes filled with suspicion as they looked at Chu Erhai.

"Uncle! Police officer!"

Chu Chen clung to the train police officer's leg, crying even harder, his little body trembling.

"They're bad people! They drugged my grandma!"

He pointed with his little finger at Old Mrs. Chen, who was fast asleep with her head tilted to one side.

"Grandma ate the candy the aunt gave her, and now she can't be woken up anymore!"

He then pointed to the couple.

"They even gave my second uncle chocolate, and after he ate it, he felt dizzy. Then that uncle came over and tried to carry me! He said he was going to take me to the toilet!"

Chu Chen spoke quickly and urgently, his voice trembling with tears, yet his words were clear.

The carriage fell silent instantly.

All eyes shifted from Chu Erhai to the couple whose expressions were starting to look strange.

The woman with the perm turned pale and immediately shrieked, "What nonsense are you spouting, you little brat! We gave you candy because you're cute, and you're accusing an innocent person!"

Chu Chen ignored her completely and continued to cry to the train police officer.

"Uncle, that auntie's bag smells weird! It tastes just like the candy my grandma eats!"

His little nose wrinkled, as if he really smelled something.

"She also had a small notebook in her bag, with the names of many younger siblings she didn't recognize written on it!"

Upon hearing this, the couple's expression completely changed.

A fierce glint flashed in the man's eyes, while the woman instinctively clutched her handbag tighter.

This action did not escape the eyes of the police...

"Comrade, please cooperate with the inspection and open your bag." The lead police officer's voice was stern.

"Why?! You can't go through my things like that!" the woman screamed, hiding her bag behind her back.

Another police officer stepped forward, grabbed her, and snatched the handbag.

The zipper was unzipped, and the contents spilled onto the seat.

Several packets of white powder wrapped in paper, a crumpled stack of money, and a palm-sized hardcover notebook.

The train police officer picked up the notebook and opened it.

"Wang Xiaoya, female, 4 years old, from Zhoujiakou, Henan Province..."

"Li Gou Dan, male, 6 years old, from Fuyang, Anhui Province..."

"Zhao Pandi, female, 5 years old, Hunan Province..."

The entire page was densely packed with children's names, ages, and places of origin!

"Whoosh—"

The entire carriage exploded!

"Human traffickers! Those damned human traffickers!"

"I knew they didn't look like good people!"

"Kill them! These beasts!"

The passengers who had previously spoken up for them were now filled with righteous indignation and wished they could rush up and attack.

The couple slumped in their seats, their faces ashen.

"Cuff him! Take him away!"

The train police officer took out gleaming handcuffs and, with a "click," locked the wrists of the two men.

A thunderous round of applause erupted in the carriage.

"Well done!"

"This man is a hero!"

Someone patted Chu Erhai on the shoulder and gave him a thumbs up.

Chu Erhai finally snapped out of his daze. He looked at the human trafficker being handcuffed and then at the passengers who were praising him, and his back straightened instantly.

He's not a robber, he's a hero!

He fought off the human traffickers and rescued his own nephew!

An unprecedented sense of pride welled up inside him, and he felt like he was glowing.

He looked at Chu Chen with a complicated expression. This little devil... doesn't seem so annoying after all.

"Little friend, you've done a really great job this time! You're both smart and brave!"

The lead police officer squatted down, patted Chu Chen's head, and looked at him with approval.

Chu Chen raised his small face, tears still clinging to his big eyes. He looked at Chu Erhai, who was beaming with pride, and then said something in the most innocent and naive tone.

"Officer, my second uncle is a good person; he chased away the bad guys."

"But my mom said he used to be a bad person too."

The train police officer's smile froze.

Chu Erhai's smug expression froze.

The air in the entire carriage seemed to freeze for a second.

"Oh?" The train police officer looked at Chu Chen with interest. "How is your second uncle a bad guy?"

Chu Chen counted on his fingers, recalling the events with a serious expression.

"I heard my mother and grandmother arguing, saying that my second uncle was selling fake medicine, the kind that doesn't cure diseases and can even kill people."

"Mom also said that my second uncle does all sorts of bad things to make money, and he'll be arrested by the police sooner or later."

"boom!"

Chu Erhai's mind went completely blank, as if it had been blown open by a bomb.

The color drained from his face in an instant, and he looked as if his bones had been removed, almost collapsing to the ground.

"I didn't! You little bastard! You're spouting lies!" He pointed at Chu Chen, his voice shrill, distorted by fear.

His panicked and furious appearance was, in the eyes of the train police officer, the perfect embodiment of the phrase "a guilty conscience."

"What's your name? Show me your ID!"

The train police officer stood up and stared at Chu Erhai with a serious expression.

"I...I..." Chu Erhai stammered, unable to speak coherently.

"Officer, I... I'm just a farmer, I've never done anything like that! He's just a kid talking nonsense!"

"Whether it's nonsense or not, come with us and you'll find out."

Two train police officers, one on each side, lifted the weak-legged Chu Erhai from his seat and led him to the connection between the two carriages.

The way the surrounding passengers looked at Chu Erhai changed from admiration to disdain and wariness.

It took more than ten minutes before Chu Erhai was released.

He looked like a wilted eggplant, his face was deathly pale, he was unsteady on his feet, and when he sat back down, he was shaking like a leaf.

Although the train police found no evidence, they had already listed him as a prime suspect. The warning they gave him before leaving, "We'll keep an eye on you," still echoed in his ears.

He stared intently at Chu Chen, his teeth grinding together.

That little brat is a devil! A devil who's come to collect a debt!

Chu Chen, however, acted as if nothing had happened. He leaned against the car window, his chin resting on his hand, quietly watching the scenery rushing past outside.

Just then, Old Mrs. Chen next to her let out a painful groan and her eyelids twitched.

"Ugh... my foot..."

She slowly woke up.
