The blind boss's nanny
Chapter 210 That will completely ruin her!
The scene was a mess; after the absurdity of the drama, came the stark reality of blood and urgency.
The air was thick with the stench of blood.
Lu Tingzhao could no longer maintain his pretense of "blindness." Just as Lu Tingzhou's fingers trembled as he reached for his phone, instinctively wanting to press "120"—
"Don't hit him!"
Lu Tingzhao's voice was firm and decisive, instantly stopping his brother's actions. His eyes were cold:
"Call Dr. Kang. Immediately."
Lu Tingzhou was taken aback:
"Uncle Kang? He's a surgeon, but..."
"Do as instructed!"
Lu Tingzhao had no time to explain. He took out his phone and quickly dialed a rarely used private number.
When the call connected, his voice was steady and clear:
"Uncle Kang, it's me, Tingzhao. There's an emergency at the manor, and I need you to come immediately. Someone has been stabbed in the chest with a fruit knife. They're conscious and bleeding moderately. Please make sure you bring all necessary equipment, suture materials, and blood plasma. Yes, keep it confidential, and please come alone."
He succinctly explained the injuries and needs, but omitted all the complicated background information, only emphasizing "urgency" and "secrecy".
After hanging up the phone, he immediately took out his walkie-talkie and called Aunt Mei, giving clear and swift instructions:
"Aunt Mei, immediately issue the order: the manor is under temporary lockdown. All entrances and exits are closed. Everyone must return to their rooms and is not allowed to leave without my permission, speak to each other, or contact the outside world. Tell them... there is a safety risk due to electrical maintenance. Execute immediately."
Theresa May was shocked, but her years of experience allowed her to respond immediately:
"Yes, Chairman!"
Lu Tingzhou was initially puzzled by his elder brother's actions, but when he saw his brother's cold profile and the pool of blood on the ground, and then looked at his younger sister Lu Tingxi, who was standing blankly to the side with a vacant look in her eyes...
He understood immediately!
They blocked the news and settled the matter privately.
The reason couldn't be simpler... He wanted to protect Lu Tingxi.
Regardless of whether Qin Xiu is the murderer or not, and regardless of how many grudges existed before, this current attack was personally inflicted by Lu Tingxi.
If anything happens to Qin Xiuzhen, or if this matter escalates, Lu Tingxi will no longer be burdened with a family dispute, but with a real charge of intentional injury or even more serious criminal charges!
That would completely ruin her!
Lu Tingzhao was using the fastest speed to forcibly suppress this crisis that could destroy his sister's life within the high walls of the Lu family and handle it within the smallest possible scope.
Having figured this out, Lu Tingzhou no longer hesitated. He took a deep breath, suppressing all distracting thoughts, and his eyes became as cold and hard as his brother's.
At this moment, the two brothers needed no words; their goals were more aligned than ever before.
Lu Tingzhou immediately stepped forward, carefully avoiding the wound, and helped Lu Tingzhao gently lay Qin Xiu, whose face had already turned pale from blood loss, on the inner resting bed. He then used a clean towel to press around the wound to temporarily stop the bleeding.
As he moved, he glanced at the man who might be his "brother" with mixed feelings, but his movements were careful and steady.
Lu Tingzhao then checked on the unconscious Lu Xingyuan again, and after confirming that he had only fainted from fright and that his breathing was steady, he carried him to the sofa next to him and settled him down.
Then, he walked up to Lu Tingxi, who was still standing frozen in place. His sister's hands and cuffs were stained with blood, her eyes were vacant, and her body was trembling slightly.
Lu Tingzhao reached out and firmly grasped her cold, trembling hand, his voice carrying a steady strength like a rock:
"Tingxi, look at me."
"Now, listen to me. Put the knife down. Then, go to the next room, lock the door, and don't go anywhere or think about anything. Leave the rest to your brother."
"Even if the sky falls, I'll be there for you."
His words were brief, yet they were like the strongest bulwark, temporarily keeping out the fear, regret, and impending doom that were threatening Lu Tingxi's heart.
Lu Tingzhao has always been fiercely protective of his own people, and he does so in an unreasonable and swift manner.
The door closed, isolating him from the chaos outside, but it couldn't shut out the roar in Lu Tingxi's mind and the lingering images before his eyes.
She leaned against the cold door and slowly slid down onto the carpet. Her body was still trembling uncontrollably, and the cuts on her palms from the branches mingled with Qin Xiu's blood, sticky and stinging.
She spread her hands, staring blankly at the bloodstains on her palms—some were hers, some were…his.
"Tingxi, your hand... how did you get hurt?"
Qin Xiu's words echoed repeatedly in her ears, drowning out his suppressed groan as he was stabbed in the chest.
When she stabbed him, his first concern was actually the insignificant scratch on her hand.
These words turned her previously anger-driven mind upside down.
She finally realized that she liked Qin Xiu. She liked him a lot.
She liked him so much that she was willing to argue with her older brother, whom she had respected since childhood, and she liked him so much that even when she vaguely sensed that something was wrong at home, she subconsciously wanted to protect him.
So when she overheard him admitting outside the window that he had hired someone to harm her older brother, the feeling of being doubly betrayed ignited a destructive rage and despair.
At that moment, she only wanted him to pay the price, for her brother's sake and for her own misplaced sincerity.
But why... why did he react that way after she made her move?
There was no anger, no accusation, no ferocity or excuse as she had imagined, only a worried look and a heartfelt concern.
If he was only focused on revenge and was ruthless, why would he care about her minor injury at a critical moment in life and death?
If he truly had no genuine feelings for her and was only using her and putting on an act, then this "act" was far too convincing.
Unless... unless things weren't as simple as she heard? Unless there was a more complicated story behind his "It's me"?
Once this thought took hold, it grew wildly, violently clashing with the irrefutable evidence that "he confessed to harming his older brother," tearing her brain in two.
"it's me."
"Tingxi, your hand... how did you get hurt?"
The two sentences bombarded each other in turn, eventually merging into a blank space.
After the anger subsided, she was overwhelmed by panic, regret, and self-doubt. She stabbed him, using the excuse that he might just be using her.
If... if he wasn't entirely evil, if he had some genuine feelings for her, then what did her stab mean?
Did she hurt someone who might have liked her? Someone who would have cared about her in a crucial moment?
Tears finally welled up belatedly, falling in large drops onto her bloodstained hands, mingling together.
